I have no idea how this place is still open. It’s a waste of space !! The most horrific Mexican food I have ever EVER tasted in my life. Please don’t go here!!! I got sick when I went!

If I post anything on here it’s for ownership to know what they need to work on… shrimp cocktail was warm like if it was shrimp soup… I had to put all the ice from my water to bring it down to acceptable temperature. My wife had the Molcajete, didn’t even have meat, no flavor or spices. Chips were a bit stale, the water tasted like it came from molded pipes… my hope is this review will help in improving the menu. waitress was nice.

La comida esta muy mala, el agua de orchata sabe a pura azucar. Solo tenian asientos afuera y hacia frio. No esta nada limpio. La verdad muy mala experiencia

Family & I were in Pismo for an overnight trip & were looking for a cheap place for 4 to eat lunch. We wanted some kind of seafood, we were on the beach after all! We thought about going to the crab place just around the corner from this one but it would have cost us over $ 100& we just didn’t have that kind of money plus, there was already a wait. We walked by this place & saw their sign out front that listed their special«4 clam strip or fish tacos & a beer(or drink) for $ 8.99» so we decided to have lunch here & boy were we happy we did! I’m shocked by the negative reviews this place has. We walked in & were greeted promptly by a man at the cash register, seated right away by a female waitress. There was one large party & us(a family of 4) in the restaurant. We were joined later by a few more people but they never got super busy. I think maybe the female waitress has gotten some negative reviews on here because she seems rude but, she doesn’t speak English very well & that may come off to some as rude. Once she realized we spoke a little Spanish she smiled & warmed right up! We all ordered the lunch special; 3 fish &1 clam strip order of their tacos(that’s a total of 16 tacos). Hubby & I got 805s & the kids got sodas. Our chips & salsa came out quickly as did the drinks. Tacos were up quickly as well & I loved my clam strip tacos! Seasoning was great, maybe even a little too hot! Whatever sauce they put on there was really good. Everyone else loved their fish tacos as well. Only draw back was; we could have order 2, maybe 3 lunch specials & saved ourselves some money! We will def be back to this place on our next trip & recommend it to others while we were there!

Came here because I was hungry and Splash Café’s line was too long. Had an order of the fish tacos and they were terrible!!! The fish was dry and seemed as if it was microwaved. The servers were not friendly and looked grumpy. I would not recommend at all.

Food was just ok! Definitely not authentic Mexican food! Tasted like everything came out of a can and looked that way too! Like other reviews, the service was pretty weak and unwelcoming. Probably being nice by giving them two stars. Would not recommend!

If I could give this place a negative star I would, horrible service, terrible food. All around disgusting and FAR to expensive for what they give you. Very disappointed. Do not waste your time.

Our first time in Pismo Beach and we wanted a cold beer and some tacos so we tried Sabor a Mexico. It was close to the pier which is a plus. We went in and you can tell it’s a family ran business. We were greeted and was seated asap. They brought us some chips and salsa and the salsa had a kick to it better than most places. We finally order and I got a fish and shrimp tacos. I started with the fish one and fell in love then I had the shrimp one it was really good too but the fish was my favorite. We also ordered Micheladas which they brought on a frosty mug and they looked so good and tasted even better. I would definitely come back for some more Micheladas and fish tacos.

Long wait for takeout. Food is ok. They’re very light on the meat. And the salsa could be better. The guy serving the food was nice, so that’s a plus. But they’re foods just not as good as the place down the street.

Chips and salsa were good, but that was the highlight. Got a couple of tacos just to test the waters. The meat was bland, and the taco shell did not live up to the chips. Extremely disappointing place taking up such prime real estate, the old Burger Factory.

We had tacos and taquitos. They were not good at all. The chicken was dry and tasted like tomatoes. The shells on both dishes were flavorless and for the price it wasn’t worth it. The chips and salsa were good, but not the best. The tables(though they were not busy –we were 1 of 3 couples there) needed to be cleaned. The family running it were very pleasant, but the food… We’ve had better, a lot better.

The fish sandwich was awesome! We sat on the patio with our dogs and the waitress brought them water. Very friendly staff, but not the best décor.

Do not eat here. Food was as bad as it gets. If you are in the area goto mo’s for tritip sandwich or across the street there is great pizza by the slice. But this place had worst mexican food i have had in mylife.

Place was not too bad as the other reviews said. It’s a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant and was food was good. Our only issues were it seemed to take a little too long to get our food considering the place was empty, which would have been okay however our waitress didn’t check on us during that time and we ran out of chips and drinks. Otherwise it’s not a bad place for a bite.

Wow! this place was great. Me and my husband were driving through Pismo Beach looking for a place to have dinner. We saw Sabor a Mexico on the corner and decided to stop there. We first ordered their side chile rellano, which was more like a meal. It was the best chile rellano we ever had! I then realized they sold beer and wine. Who knew you could make a margarita with wine! it was so delicious. For our meals I ordered the chicken enchiladas which were good but my husband ordered the wet burrito. It was huge! My husband is a big guy and was only able to eat half. Their service was great. We were greeted promptly upon entering the door. We sat outside and could even see a little bit of the beach. It was a great experience and have already recommended this restaurant to family! Next time we are in town we will definitely stop there and eat again.

The people are great. The food, it was less than ok. I don’t think the guacamole is all that authentic. More like«guacamole-ish». For me, that sucks because I got a guacamole taco. The Husband however got a torta like no other. The Gigantic Torta. And that it was. He was pleased. The beans have jalapeños, just to warn anyone that isn’t too fond of that flavor. And I don’t know if it was because it was the end of the night & they needed to stretch the batch, but there was more«stuff» in the beans, than beans themselves. No whole bean options, btw. Just wish the food was as good as the people serving it.

The place looked nice and at a prime location at Pismo beach but the Service was terrible. We asked for chavelas but she brought glasses with ice so we asked for no ice and she rolled her eyes at us. Next, our food had a piece of hair in it, 2 orders by the way. We agreed no tip but they added the gratuity on our bill at the end. Very dissatisfied.

Sad to say I will not be coming here again. Wanted to go elsewhere but it was too long of a wait. The water tasted moldy, the food tastes like it was made with frozen and processed food. Food had to be redone at which point we finished what we had. The only positive were the chips and salsa.

While driving through Pismo on Sunday afternoon, my wife and I decided to give this new eatery(that was originally built as a A&W) a I try. This location has reopened many times with various culinary themes and with my wife we have tried them all … until now. We walked in the door and it was quite dark and empty. There was lots of foot traffic on the street and this place was empty at lunchtime. We were greeted at the door and offered a seat but we asked to see a menu first. The menu that was handed to us was dirty so we gave it back and asked for a clean one. The second menu was dirtier than the first. We walked out. I won’t eat at a dark place with dirty menus. What else hasn’t been cleaned. What a long fall from a classic A&W with car service, to a place that I would be afraid to dine in. If you find yourself driving by looking for a place to eat, keep driving.
