I’m new to the area. I’ve been looking for local eateries and Pittsboro NC has a number of them priced moderately from low to medium. Nothing too rich so far. Hwy55 Burgers is great blue collar food. Fun food. Burgers are cooked well and not greasy or tasteless. Fries, onion rings custards all meet good to fine, both in price and quality. However this is food as it was served circa 1960 and do not expect boutique frills or much catering to food peccadillos. The ground beef is fresh and tasty and you get what they offer. In this location the wait staff were especially friendly and pleasant.
Next time I am gonna try their cheesesteak. A chain with local flavor. Well worth finding when passing through Pittsboro.

This place is usually pretty good when the owners are here, so I would recommend coming here only then and don’t come an hour before closing because everyone there already cleaning up and there are no ketchup bottles out and the food is awful and again this is when the owners aren’t here.

I never really thought that a simple burger and fries basket could be anything special… wrong! The food is here is absolutely amazing. You can taste the freshness in their made to order dishes and the hand squeezed orangeade is to die for! Just wish they weren’t so far from durham. Next time I’m down in Pittsboro, I know where I’m stopping for lunch! :)

We love the food and service here. The two owners, Cassy and Phil, work in the diner and always have a bright, cheery and friendly attitude. The burgers are tasty and juicy, with great add-on toppings if you want. The cheese steak sandwiches are also wonderful. We always order a «scoop» or two of shrimp to go along with our burger. The shrimp are fresh and lightly battered and are just perfect. The atmosphere is 50s diner and the place is bright and clean.

I can drive up to Andy’s and they’ll put my burger on the grill when I open their door. They know exactly what I want, and it’s great every time! I do recommend getting custard instead if fries though.

Here from out of town and stopped in for lunch. I had the double Andy’s burger with fries. It was one if the best burgers I’ve had in a long time, well worth stopping for. The fries were adequate. The service was old-time diner super friendly, and they were generous with soda refills. It was very clean and the diner ambiance was a joy. Great place to visit in Pittsboro.
