I sent my my parents here for dinner on Father’s Day, and they absolutely hated it :(. I was really disappointed to hear my dad tell me how much the food was bland(and I asked for each dish to be medium spicy) and each dish was filled with masala which was the same in each dish(I ordered 4 to 5 dishes). I suppose this place is OK if you don’t know too much about Indian food and you like bland food. But if you are Indian and you know how indian food is supposed to taste, I would NOT go here.

Mehran is delicious! And the staff is soo friendly. I Ike them a lot, and they’re the best Indian food place for miles. You can tell they take pride in the food they serve, the portions are always good and the taste is always on point. It would be five stars if they where as cheap as Naan n Curry in Concord but besides that it’s superb!

I was inspired to check this place out after my fellow Unilocaler, Heather O., wrote such a glowing review about their lunch buffet. Mehran is located in «Railroad Square», a small strip mall in downtown Pittsburg. There is a private parking lot and spaces are plentiful. The little Miss and I sat down and were almost immediately greeted by the hostess/server. She asked if she could bring us anything to drink and then invited us up to the buffet. Before we could return from the buffet she had already delivered water and fresh, hot naan bread. All the usual suspects were at the buffet including tandori chicken, butter chicken, three varieties of rice, spinach saag, salad with yogurt sauce, vegetable pakora, and a very spicy eggplant dish. I LOVED the eggplant … definitely a must try if you like spicy! In addition to all that, they also had goat, lamb, and fish dishes. What I really enjoyed about this buffet is the variety. There is really something for everyone to try. I look forward to bringing my sister here next time she is visiting and looking for an Indian buffet!

Love that they deliver. Loved the naan. Yummy chicken tikka masala and shrimp tikka masala. Not fond of the price. I guess it’s more important to eat during lunch buffet, and not any time before or after that.

After Going To A Indian Cuisine In SF& Being Sooo Good I Thought I’d Try A Place Closer To Home. Found This Place On Unilocal & Decided To Try. Arrived Around 6pm & The Place Was Empty. Ordered Shrimp Curry, 2 Orders Of Chicken Curry &1 Order Of Butter Chicken. 2 Different Kinds Of Rice & Some Naan Bread. The Curry Was Lacking Flavor Almost Like It Was Watered Down & They Skipped Out On Some Spices. Good Pieces Of White Meat Chicken But The Sauce Was Very Bland. My Shrimp Was Over Cooked And Very Tough To Chew. Almost Like They Way Overcooked Em Before Adding Them To The Curry. The Butter Chicken Was The Worse Dish Of The Meal. It Was Almost Like They Took A Can Of Cambells Tomato Soup & Added Some Milk Then Put Chicken In It. Sucked Big Time! Both Rices Were Good & Had Flavor. I Got A Variety Of Naan Bread. The Cheese Was Real Good But The Garlic Was Dry Like It Had Been Sitting And Re-Heated. After 2 Days Of Wanting Some Good Curry I Was Highly Disappointed With This Place As It Was No Where Close To The Excellent Flavors I Experienced In SF. I Won’t Be Going Back And If U Want Some Fresh Full Of Flavor Indian Food, I’d Suggest Elsewhere.

super annoyed with this place. they are NEVER consistent. The first time was ok, second time, I was given pieces of cut up chicken as if it was left over from someone’s plate. When I called to complain the guy insisted that they would never do that. Ok, maybe it’s me then… so I give them another try, and again they were ok. Fourth time, spend $ 40+ on food to go, come home and everything looked like it was burnt left overs from the buffet! They didn’t even include sauce with my soggy samosas. My final opion

So im a huge fan of this place. They usually have a buffet with a alot of variety to choose from. My favorite is the tandoori chicken, tikki masala, basmati rice, butter chicken and naan! Its absolutely delicious. They have where you can just order from the menu as well, but please dont miss a chance on yummy food from the buffet for a awesome price! This is the type of place where i get full, but i keep eating & eating because its that damn good. Check it out for yourself! :)

We were looking out for banquet halls serving Indian food for a party and landed up visiting Mehran. Since we pretty much liked their banquet halls, we decided to try out their food as well and ended up having dinner at their restaurant. The interiors of the restaurant are quite ordinary but their service is super. Our server was very attentive and prompt. Coming to the food, here’s what we sampled: PANEERCHILLI — The paneer chilli was more like a paneer achari but delicious nevertheless. The paneer cubes seemed fresh and soft and the dish was very well spiced. MIXEDNAANBASKET — The Naans & Kulchas were soft and exactly the way they should’ve been. Only complaint would be with the garlic naan, it had more of ginger and less of garlic. But the onion kulcha and cheese naan were perfect. PANEERKADHAI — This one turned out to be pretty similar to the Paneer Chilli only with less of spice. Again, was a little disappointed with the over use of ginger but the overall flavors were nice. BAINGANBHARTA — The bharta was the show stealer. It was better than a lot restaurants even back in India. Even though the dish did not seem to be heavily spiced, it definitely stirred up our taste buds with its smoky flavor. We were full by the time we were done with our main course and had no space left in our tummy for desserts but we are sure try some at our party soon. :-) Was worth a visit to satiate my Indian food cravings.

Amazing food. Amazing service. Their lunch special/buffet is my favorite with options of tikka masala, tandoori chicken, basmati rice, vegetable biryani, and much more. I go at least once a week and each time I leave wanting to go back the next day lol. Unexpected for Pittsburg, but great nonetheless!

Good food but terrible service. the only server was attempting to timeshare between delivering food, taking orders, and answering the phone. Everything we ordered it tasted very good. Spiciness level was perfect seasoned to Perfection. Temperature was good. But food was delivered in a random order with side dishes coming out as many as 15 minutes before anything else. The dining room was simple but OK. However the servers closing was filthy. He was obviously wearing the same clothes for cleaning the restaurant and serving the food.

Came in for regular dinner. We ordered just a whole bunch of curries and some nahn. One order of rice could feed about 3 — 4 people. I normally don’t like Indian food but damn this was some good Indian food. Very flavorful. Making my mouth water as I’m writing this. I would not recommend the grilled platter. Very pricey for what you get and the meats were all overcooked and dry. Not much flavor. Would recommend.

Came in for the buffet and it was great. The Nahari beef was really tender and flavorful, the mixed vegetables were the best I’ve ever had. The Gulab jamuns were really good also, finding Chai tea to go along with the desserts was a nice surprise. Our server was really friendly and attentive. Coming back again for sure!

Food is good but customer service is horrible. My family has been coming here for years. Used to be good until they implemented the phone/online order system. Now it seems that’s more important then serving there customers in the Resturant. On my birthday my wife had to help them serve the food to our guest because they were understaffed. Tonight I just went with a friend and it took them 40 min to serve us Nann. The guest behind us came in 20 min after and got their Nann and dinner before us. I asked why and the waiter replied they ordered online and came in to eat. Well service didn’t get any better. We had to constantly flag him down and ask for stuff. He forgot to bring my friend a drink till end of the meal. Horrible service. Shame on you for ruining such a nice place.

Best Indian buffet for this area! Great selection of food – chicken tikka masala, usually two types of curry(goat and fish), and more! And customer service is super attentive here; you will never be out of tasty naan. Dessert is too notch with the gulab jamun and rice pudding, and it keeps me coming back! It can be crowded at lunch, but for $ 10 a person, it can’t be beat!

They deliver up to 10 miles. $ 5 for the first 5 miles, $ 10 for 6 – 10 miles. I love not having to leave my house. We ordered at 7 pm on a Saturday and the food arrived in exactly 45 as they said. The lady who took my order over the phone was super nice and patient. I called once and had to call back. She was very kind. The food was very good. My only complaint was that they use white meat chicken in their chicken tikka masala instead of dark meat. Because it has to simmer for a long time, the chicken is dry. Lastly, I think they are a little expensive. We order the exact same food from Nann and Curry. Taking the delivery fee into consideration, they are still $ 20 or so more expensive.

Had lunch here with a colleague. Someone brought us water and naan, while we helped ourselves to the lunch buffet. They have a wide selection of dishes available. I opted for: — Vegetable Samosas: good spices/flavor but the texture was a bit soggy/chewy. I imagine these are difficult to keep nice and crispy on a buffet so these may be better ordered fresh. — Chicken Tikka Masala: the sauce was DELICIOUS, some of the chicken was a bit dry — Chickpea something: good — Eggplant something: VERY good — Rice: just a little bit to help soak up the delicious sauces Seemed like a good deal to me, at $ 10 each.

Living in San Jose for 4 years — I was spoiled with authentic and delicious Indian cuisine… moving back home, I was out on a frantic search for the same explosive spices that danced on my palette. Luckily, I remembered Mehran Restaurant. I tried it once before when I was still in high school… but I can’t say I appreciated it the same. The lunch buffet is seriously where its at. At just $ 9.99 for all-you-can-eat? Sold. The interior of the restaurant is very comfortable and semi-elegant. The staff is attentive to all of your needs and fresh naan is brought to your table. The only wish I have is for it to be in a better location because it is in a sketchy area!

Place was okay. Spacious and neat. SERVICE Okay. Once you walk-in there just go ahead and sit wherever. They will come and give you the menu. FOOD Decent. I’ve had better at different locations. My favorite was there Naan bread. We ordered the garlic and cheese Naan :) Entrees we ordered were butter chicken, prawn tikka masala, and chicken curry. They were all kind of watered down and bland. Butter chicken wasn’t as creamy as I’ve had it, prawns were big and yummy but the taste was very pasty… Chicken curry was okay not a big fan of it. I’ll probably come back here for their buffet so I can try more things out :)
