I’ve never been to Mancini’s or Prant’s even though i’ve lived here 4 years. I finally stopped in for lunch today. I walked aimlessly downtown and was going to settle on a cheese fry from priminti’s. Walking by Mancini’s, a girl was eating a pepperoni roll inside that i noticed from the window. I heard great things about their roll and decided to try it out. It tasted AMAZING. I dont really know how to explain it. The roll cost $ 5.25 + 0.75 for the sauce…(the sauce should come with in my opinion) Anyways $ 6 and 5 minutes later i had a freshly made pepperoni roll that was delicious. I had full intentions on getting a treat from Prantl’s on my way out, but i couldn’t even finish the roll. i ate 2⁄3 and im saving the rest for later. Im sad i missed out on 4 years of Mancini’s pepperoni roll.

Service: 3 stars Roni roll: 5 stars Hot from the oven, crisp, so cheesy, lots of pepperoni. It’s just amazingly perfect. I was leary of them after my hubby said that the McKees Rocks location’s rolls were only okay. They must make them differently in store than at the«factory» because this thing was awesome.

Not sure how the bread is, but the service was terrible. They are not doing me a favor by waiting on me. Very much did not appreciate the fact that there was no willingness to assist me. Will not be going bing them a second chance.

I absolutely love this location. I was in a bind the other day and needed a last minute pepperoni roll tray. I showed up around lunchtime to attempt to order one, and they were able to accomodate my request by 4pm. I ran over after work to pick it up and still made it to my party on time. I’m sure that on a really busy day it would have been more difficult for them to make this happen, but I really appreciated their helpfulness. And of course, the pepperoni roll was absolutely delicious as always. I try not to over indulge on bread, but with Mancini’s bread, this is difficult. Always baked to perfection, it’s such a step up from other breaderies in the area. The italian loaf is always fluffy and just a little crispy around the edges, and they always have a variety of breads to choose from, depending on your mood. The really lovely thing about this location is that you can also nab a Prantl’s treat while you pick up some bread. What could be better?

Can’t go wrong with a Macini’s pepperoni roll. Need a quick cheap lunch? Would you also like said lunch to be homebaked, delicious, and warm? Yeah, who doesn’t? If you answered yes to these questions then make haste. Mancini’s pepperoni rolls are the gold standard. I’m done here. **Edit** Now that I’ve had the roast beef and cheddar roll dipped in a thick spicy horseradish sauce I feel I must upgrade from 4 to 5 stars. One of the best quick lunches in all of Pittsburgh.

The boy and I come here almost every week for a spinach and cheese roll. Since we come here so much they know exactly what we order every time, it’s actually kinda cool. Their rolls are wonderful, I def recommend them if you are in the area. They also have the soda’s with real sugar!

Mancini’s. A name so well-known in Pittsburgh that it was given I had been there. And I never had. Until recently. I was in the offices upstairs from Mancini’s early in January and I smelled something amazing… like a pizza. Or a… i dunno… pizza. It smelled so good. And I was told«yeah… Mancini’s is downstairs and it wafts up the stairwell all day.» What a delight. I recently stopped in because I was told«you gotta try to pizza roll». So we did, and I was asked«what kind of pizza would you like.» «What kind? What do you mean ‘what kind?’» I asked. And then I was shown the list of pizza-roll-like foods they offer. There is a traditional Peperoni Roll, of course but there is also a Spinach and Feta Roll, a Turkey Bacon and Swiss Roll, a Roast Beef and Cheese Roll and a Ham and Cheese Roll. I opted for the Ham and Cheese because I wanted to shake it up from the Pepperoni standard, but didn’t want to get too crazy. IT. WAS. AMAZING. Omg… like a chorus of flavors and joy in my mouth. Also, I got horseradish dipping sauce(i’m assuming it is for the roast beef) but they didn’t give me any grief for that, and it too was GREAT. not too strong but so flavorful. It was awesome! I walked out high-fiving a million angels. I will definitely be going back. That Spinach and Feta has a target on it… with a lazer pointer… and it’s in my scope. P. S. Still not sold? Ever have a Primanti’s sandwich? Enjoy the bread? Mancini’s. BOOM.

Every now and again, I have a sandwich on a Mancini’s hoagie roll and am reminded of how godlike bread can be. So many Pittsburgh eateries choose to use Mancini’s bread instead of making their own, as if they know it is futile to match Mancini’s plush interior and slightly flaky crust. Someday I shall eat a fresh-baked loaf of Mancini’s bread. All I will need to go with it is a crock of warm butter and a dull knife with a rounded point. On this day I will greet Joe Black with a firm handshake and a smile.
