So delicious! My friend and I were looking for a Thai restaurant around Squirrel Hill today, and this happened to be the only one open at the time. Thank God that it was! The service was great, and the ambience of this place is so comfortable and cute. My friend ordered spring rolls and we both had the Pad Thai. The entrees came with a soup or salad. The lunch specials were around $ 8, which was not stated on the menu, but was a nice surprise at the end of the meal. Everything came out rather quickly and was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Best Thai food in Pittsburgh! The service is always friendly and quick. Quality is always consistent(perfect) and portions are very large. Favorite dishes: crab rangoon, spicy friend rice and kee mao. Absolutely perfect every time! Oh, also the corking fee is incredibly reasonable at 50 cents(for recycling). This place can’t be beat!

My boyfriend and I went here for lunch today. A little over $ 8 for the lunch special including a salad or soup which I thought was a good value. I had the cashew chicken with a Thai Iced Tea and my boyfriend had the chicken curry. Everything was delicious. I love the décor on the inside, beautiful lanterns hanging from the ceiling and benches with decorative pillows. Such a cute little spot for lunch or takeout :)

Great Thai food on Regent Square — probably my favorite in the area. Great, authentic Pad Kee Mao, delicious curries. Cute little spot to eat, but I’m a huge fan of takeaway. Quick turnaround time and nice people. Definitely recommend from a Thai food lover.

I love this place ! I highly recommend the Pad Thai and the Kao Soy. I also have tried the shrimp fried rice and the cashew chicken and those are good too! The staff has always been very friendly to me and the décor is very nice as well.

Better than Noodlehead(and I love Noodlehead). Tons of options. I had the hot-and-sour noodle bowl(Tom Yum Bowl) with shrimp. The shrimp were large and fresh, which was new for me and Thai food in Pittsburgh. I tried my friend’s fried rice which was on point too. Everything was delicious. Oh, the Thai custard with sticky rice was really really excellent for desert. So different but so good. Our server, Bell, was hilarious and very professional.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Pittsburgh. My husband and I order take out from here once/week. The staff are extremely friendly and my food is always ready when I come in. I typically order the tofu pad thai but my husband switches his order all the time and has yet to order something he doesn’t like. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for thai!

Great food and service. The Thai fried rice isn’t as spicy as some of the curry dishes.

Ordered takeout one night about an hour before they closed. Stepped in and wished I had the time to dine in because the ambiance inside was so unexpectedly nice. Wooden tables and seats and an assortment of beautiful lanterns hanging from the ceiling provided dim lighting for a romantic setting. The bench along the wall on the right had pillows to cushion your back. Boyfriend and I ordered crab fried rice, pad see ew, and lychee green tea to go. There were a few tables for outdoor seating where we sat to wait for our food. When it was ready, a very smiley and sweet server came outside to bring us our food. It was only an 8 – 10 minute wait. I wanted to order the crab fried rice because the last time I had it at a Thai restaurant, it was fantastic. This one, however, wasn’t nearly as good, but it was still a decent dish. The pad see ew was a little better. The lychee green tea was too sweet. I wasn’t crazy about the food here, but would love to come back and eat in to enjoy the ambiance. I had the shrimp pad thai(spice level 3) and my date had chicken thai spicy fried rice(spice level 4) as a side we had chicken spring rolls… Portion size was excellent Food quality was excellent Level 3 spice was perfect for me because I don’t really want it to burn Level 4 spice was where the spice level took off and you’ll get a residual burn The atmosphere was cozy definitely a nice place for a date or even a group gathering, but it’s a small place so if it’s packed you’re probably not going to be seated for a while. Service was decent… no issues, but I don’t think the wait staff was very experienced… most likely a family… overall I was happy. Oh and as a bonus they let you bring your own drink so B.Y.O.B. Prices were also not bad… my bill came to 33.00 not including tip

We come here often and love it. Cheerful servers, delicious food, and always accommodating. The curries, tom kha, choo chee, and see ew are my favorites, and they don’t mind when I ask for extra eggplant or mushrooms in my dishes(they’re so good!) The service Friday nights is particularly spectacular. I always leave happy!

This is my favorite lunch spot in Regent Square. The lady who runs it is super-sweet and fun, and the food is of high quality(though to be honest, I haven’t met a Thai restaurant in Pittsburgh that I didn’t enjoy — except perhaps that place next to the Tobacco Outlet on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield whose name I can’t remember). When I was in there yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly our meals came out and how attentive the service was in general. The calamari appetizer was especially tender and delightful(I’m used to calamari being a bit chewy and I generally like that — but this stuff was really just good and tender, reminded me of scallops.) The décor is mellow and tasteful, in the summertime the restaurant feels like a nice shadowy-shady respite from the sun.

I had what I could only describe as a pleasant if innocuous Thai meal here. It started well with what they call Cottage wings These were crispy chicken wings without a hint of oiliness They came with a wonderful sweet hot chili dipping sauce and I devoured them. Then the main dish., pineapple curry with pork came and my enthusiasm flagged. The first thing I noticed were the peas and carrots which had to have come from cans or frozen packs. Then the taste which reminded me of the old American Chinese dish sweet and sour and the memory was not a pleasant one. The pork itself was tasteless. There was no complexity to this dish as in real Thai cooking. I mean I’m not expecting Pok Pok here but Pittsburgh has to do better than this. I’ll keep looking for that more authentic Thai meal and if I find it I’ll let you know. The service here was great but the food just OK.

Awesome place! I can’t wait to go back! Yesterday, July 3… After a long walk with the puppy at Frick Park, we were planning on going back to Oakland for bubble tea, and passed this place with their sign posted on the sidewalk said«milk tea» …WIN! After I parked the vehicle, I looked them up on Unilocal, saw their menu and pics of their food… WIN! I gave them a call to see if they had outdoor seating because we had the dog, and… WINNN! We took a seat at the table, the AWESOMEST, super nice, friendly waitress came out with menus and water for us AND the dog… WIN! The food on the menu sounded so good, we make our choices, ordered our bubble milk teas. The waitress kept the cups full and the puppy water bowl full… we didn’t want for nothing! The food was incredible, I ordered my son take out and my daughter tried the pumpkin custard sticky rice… WIN! Was SO good. My only mistake was not ordering me one. My sons dish was beyond amazing… I wish I could remember what it’s called. It is a noodle bowl. That will be what I order next time. Not that my soup wasn’t scrum-didly-yumptuous, because it was. We live pretty far away, but as long as the weather is good and outdoor seating is available, we will always have an excuse to go there because we will take the dog to Frick park for outdoor walking fun and top it off with the Thai Cottage for real. I think we are going to make Thai Cottage a long-term habit and summer tradition!

In this rare instance, the food was very good although it is not the best I’ve ever had. We ordered the Kee Mao, Pad Thai, and the fresh rolls with tofu. The portions were satisfying enough and the food was definitely enjoyable. What really discouraged me from coming again was the service, which was abysmal and completely soured the experience. The waiter actually forgot we were waiting to be served. We waited 40 minutes for a Thai Iced tea before he realized. I would have understood if the place was packed but there were literally only 3 other tables there. People who sat down after us who had ordered the same thing and more were served before us and left. Once we actually got our food which was a little over ANHOUR later. We quickly ate and paid our check to salvage the rest of our night. So if you want to spend 2 hours at a restaurant staring at other people eat while you quietly starve then I would go here.

We came out for a place a couple doors down but it was extremely busy so we looked around and found Thai Cottage. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! Nice atmosphere and just busy enough but not crowded. I had the mango curry and pad yum soup off of the lunch menu. It was very good.
