The people were nice. Generally picked up. The garage was a horror show! It was literally falling down in places. Went to the bar. The bartender didn’t want to serve us & suggested we go elsewhere, even though the place was empty.

It’s a really nice hotel and I would have rated it five stars, but I had a problem with the shower in my room and didn’t have time to have it fixed before I had to leave. The front desk staff is great, very friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel has some great amenities like the pool and exercise facility. The room is comfortable and well appointed with a comfortable bed. The bathroom has plenty of towels and upscale toiletries. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel and plan to stay there again when I’m in the area.

Spent one night here with the family. Hotel is starting to shows it age but is generally clean but could do with updating. Did not eat or drink in the hotel so can comment. Overall I think it is a 3 star at best.

I have stayed here twice because I have family in the area, and both stays have been very pleasant, but it is not overly fancy. There are some cheaper hotels around, but I wanted to start earning points when I realized I would be in the area often. Points are key in travel, and the fact that the hotel is so centrally located and has a pool open year round is what convinced me to stay here. The Good: The staff is very friendly, from the front desk to the maintenance, to the restaurant staff, everyone greeted me with a smile and was happy to help. The food is upper middle class, not completely awesome, but very good. I have tried both the breakfast and the room service and both have been tasty, warm, and satisfying. The beds have always been comfortable and the rooms are very clean. Great location, if you are in Pittsfield, most of the things to do are in this area. The pool is awesome! It is in a great space, has a class ceiling and big window and is heated. Just a note to the hotel — make sure the towels are stocked! I have had to run to my room freezing and wet! The Bad: They have been in the process of fixing elevators both times I have come here(over a three month period) and it sometimes makes for long waits. This might not longer be problem once the issue is fixed. The parking garage is horrendous, and this is coming from someone who lives in a city much bigger than Pittsfield. I would imagine the point of living in a place like Pittsfield is to not have to deal with crazy parking situations right? But this garage is small, cramped, confusing, dank, and dirty. The plumbing is… odd. The shower pressure is great, but when I tried to run a bath for my daughter the water only came out like a trickle. It took at least 30 minutes to even get the tub half full and at that point I gave up and forced her to take a shower. The bar has looked pretty busy, even though I have never gone in(shocker, I know), but if I am able to go to the bar during my next stay and it is nice I might upgrade to 4 stars. But overall, it is a very pleasant place to stay and the good outweighs the bad. This is my go to place when staying in Pittsfield.

I stayed here again in July 2015, this time for 5 nights(the longest I’ve ever stayed here) and it was a great stay. I did try room service for the first time on this trip and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I ordered the steak with a mushroom/wine sauce and baked potato. Everything was cooked perfectly, great temperature, and well seasoned.

Came here for a conference at school. Conference was good, many technical difficulties. Coffee was good. I can’t really comment on the hotel itself because I didn’t stay or eat here at all. I was just a guest for the day, however, I didn’t have to pay for parking which was a bonus.

This is not the Four Seasons but it does have it’s positives. It’s very close to where I need to be for work and you can walk to many restaurants for dinner. I also really enjoyed the free breakfast buffet. Other then that, the rooms are a bit drab and my tv remote didn’t work the first night(neither did 2 of my coworker’s either by the way). As a hotel for work travel, it serves its purpose well.

I travel every week for work. Took a chance on this hotel, as I am loyal to Hilton. My room smelled like the drapes were original to the room and were holding ghosts of all cigarettes ever smoked. The bed linen was not clean smelling either. Even though this was a NONsmoking room-Clearly it was in the past. This hotel need a major update, including replacing the carpet and beds. Will never stay here again!

Dated and expensive, I have paid less for nicer in Boston… Carpets, bedding etc are very dated, Breakfast was expensive(over $ 25 for 1 adult and 1 child buffet) and then they charge you for parking too!!! Has to be nicer places in the region for less then this, avoid.

Stayed here when we passed by Pittsfield. It is right near the center of downtown Pittsfield. Service was okay. Some amenities may need upgrading. It is the tallest building in Pittsfield and it offers great views of the fall foliage in the surrounding areas. They offer an omelette station during their breakfast. Has some good breakfast items as well. Can be on the pricey side but for the convenience it can be worth it.

Once you park your car and walk in their main entrance… You walk up to the tellers. They are nice & sweet. You’ll nice the elevators are nice and clean. Once in your room it’s inviting and well cleaned by there maids. Your given the piracy you would expect to get. My reason for the stars. Is they gave us a wrong room she we asked for a large king size. And when the rooms were switched. They miss placed our cloths. And didn’t call us to keep us informed on where bouts our missing cloths were and there status on finding it. I went on my own to the old room to see who was there and if the cloths were to be found. They weren’t very helpful with issues and fixing them in a timely manor. I lost a few cloths. But I check out right away and left without the my cloths. Sorry to say I won’t be here again!

I travel on a regular basis for my job. Typically I stay at Marriotts or Hilton’s but this is walking distance to the office. Parking downtown Pittsfield is a nightmare if you need to be somewhere more than 3 hours so this was convenient. I’ll start by saying the front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. My room was clean. It went downhill from there. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel. I asked what the soup of the day was and waitress did not know, came back told me. I then asked if they had iced tea, she didn’t know. There were 5 of us for dinner. When the meal came out I was brought a ham and cheese, I ordered a hamburger. 20 minutes later my hamburger was brought out. And they charged me for it… The wifi in the rooms is slow and constantly disconnects. Very frustrating when trying to get work done. 2 nights of this has led me to write this review from my phone on the 3G sprint network… I have stayed at the Hampton a couple miles down the street and would rather deal with parking than the bad wifi…

Not too much to say other than friendly staff, very clean room, flat screen TV, and ample parking. The setup is a little strange and the parking garage can also get a little confusing. There are two bars there. We went to the smaller one which was conveniently located just outside the pool area and they allowed you to bring your cocktails onto the pool patio. Another plus is large outdoor patio area. Nothing fancy about it and not much of a view but hey on a warm summer night it’s nice to sit outside and enjoy some fresh air and a drink. As for the pool itself, we never actually went swimming but it looked clean and is indoors so no need to worry about the weather :-) Two downsides: 1) It could use a little updating 2) The elevators are haunted… seriously…true story. You hit lobby it goes to the fourth floor. You call for an elevator going down it sends you one going up. I could have sworn I heard an evil ghostly laugh too… but that may have just been well mixed drinks for the bar ;-) Oh one last thing… CHECKOUTISATNOON!!! No scrambling as the housekeeping staff pushes you out the door here! Enjoy a couple extra hours of zzzzzz’s.

I stay in different hotels around the world as part of my job. I judge my future happiness within that hotel on a few things. The hotel lobby, the bathroom essentials, and the creature comforts within the room. The Crowne Plaza has everything I need to feel at home. Not to mention the view from my 11th floor is absolutely gorgeous! I recommend staying here if you are passing through town.

Stayed a few nights on business. Was not impressed. The room was clean including the bathroom, but it was quite dreary and depressing. Perhaps there just wasn’t enough light. The restaurant had limited choices and the staff seemed to be short staffed. Took a while to get a waitress, but when she did come she was helpful. Also, I was a little perturbed that when I ordered my steak cooked medium RARE, it came back WELL. It wouldn’t have meant much had the waitress not clarified it before she left the table. all in all, I’ll try the Hampton Inn next time.

We stayed a couple of days here during a visit to the Berkshires. The hotel is pretty good, though a bit time worn. The price($ 219 per night) was relatively reasonable for the peak summer season. And the staff people were very helpful, attentive, and polite. Inside the room, we found it to be clean and reasonably well-equipped. But the beds were a bit saggy, there was no fridge, and the free wifi was very slow. And the coffee in the room is pretty lousy, but I wasn’t expecting it to be anything special. The hotel has a swimming pool and hot tub, which seem to be reasonably clean, despite being very heavily used by lots of kids. There’s also free parking in the adjacent garage. Within a few minutes’ walk, there are plenty of restaurants, the public library, the Berkshire Museum, and the Colonial Theatre. It’s not fancy or stellar, but the Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield is a solid hotel.

Do NOT book this hotel if you think you might change your reservation. Their cancellation cost is enormous!(You’d think they’re the W in Manhattan). For what you pay, you can do much better in the area at one of the resorts, or save money at one of the other chains where you get a similar room and experience for much less money.

This is a pretty average hotel but it’s centrally located and is one of the better hotels in the area so I give it an extra star The rooms are comfartable enough but there are no fridges. You have the typical $ 3 glass bottle of water that has probably been there for years. There’s a hotel bar which is decent enough and the restaurant is good enough to pass the night if you don’t want to leave the hotel. As a sidenote, they also own the Underground Pub which is right around the corner. I have been there in the winter and found it closed. I was told by the front desk that it’s seasonal but I don’t know anything else. They seem to peak late and always have flyers for something going on though.

I have never been a hotel snob. For the most part, I feel like most rooms are generally the same from The Bellagio to Best Western — beds, tvs, bathrooms all of which you hope are just clean. When I had to make a trip to the Berkshires for a big reunion, I started searching hotels and was coming up fairly empty for reasonable and acceptable until I found Crowe Plaza. $ 130 a night in the summer, clean rooms, nice pool, full restaurant and underground bar on premises, friendly staff — this thing was really shaping up before I arrived. I can’t say I was expecting too much, but compared to what I thought I was getting into, this Crowne Plaza was more plaza than crown. It appeared a bit outdated, clearly the remnants of taking over another hotel chain at this location, but still completely serviceable. One West, the restaurant, was actually decent and the service was both friendly and accommodating. I would steer clear of the underground bar at the Crowne Plaza. A bunch of us went down there to grab a few drinks and it was like when the music screeches to a halt and everyone turns their head and then you feel like you are in a scene from The Accused — not good. It felt like you just intruded on what appeared to be someone’s 50th birthday, but they were only 34 and go to this place a lot. The room was fine and clean enough, but I would suspect that if Dateline sent a dude in with a black light, no one would be too happy with the results. The door in the bathroom was possibly the most annoying thing as it opened into the bathroom, but then blocked the whole shower so you had to walk in — hide by the toilet and the only way you could get into the shower was to close the door almost all the way — strange configuration to say the least. However, in the world of hotels and for where it was, Crowne Plaza is totally fine. It is nice that they have a restaurant, bar, pool and room service at a very affordable rate. The counter staff was completely helpful and friendly and I think you could do a lot worse in this area.

Lackluster and lackadaisical are the words that come to mind. No house keeping today and not much of a solution for that problem. Place looks shabby, as if it’s scheduled for an overhaul and redecorating, but has been delayed. I will not stay here again; for the price they could do better. They should take a page from Marriott’s employee training model.
