Papa Murphy’s Take ‘n’ Bake

The quality of the pizza is always great but the service is terrible. Since moving in the area I have been here 5 times, all phone orders. All 5 times I have been quoted 30 mins or longer. (The one by my last house never quoted more than 15 minutes even with 7 pizzas). Even showing up after the quoted time I have had to wait up to an additional 20 mins in store! Its absurd. Go somewhere else!

Despite the hype about this place, I see it as a glorified digiorno with poor customer service skills. When placing the order over the phone I was greeted with a very rude sales associate who was demanding and demeaning. I wouldn’t waste your money kids, if u want good pizza go somewhere else.

They have improved since my last visit. Price is great for family on a budget. You could also find good pizzas at Safeway if your looking for other good deals.

Horrible guest service and super difficult process to find deal or coupons. You are directed to the website and required to register for emails/​texts — but you don’t get coupons for pizza, you get a free cookie dough with purchase. Then if you ask the employees about coupons or deals they don’t know anything — I’ll stick with other pizza places, shame on you papa murphys, don’t you know the cardinal rule of guest service?

In general, we like Pappa Murphy’s. HOWEVER. .. this evening, we ordered a pizza online, arrived at the store in 25– 30 minutes to pick it up. My husband presented his receipt, the person at the register took the receipt and indicated that the order had not been processed. He/​she gave the receipt to the first person in the «pizza line». Thirty minutes later. .. still no pizza, no apology, no refund (prepaid online), no receipt because the staff took it. In the meantime, a man with his children had been waiting an hour for a phone-​in order. When he complained, he was told that they were just slammed. OK? Well. .. While my husband and this other family were waiting, people were coming in, verbally placing new orders and receiving their pizzas within 10 minutes. The pre-​orders were ignored. My husband just left. .. without a pizza and no refund on his $ 15. I’m writing this in the hopes that the owner looks into the problem. Success in a small town requires providing an excellent product AND stellar customer service. Staff should have been immediately on these two orders, with a smile and a verbal apology. Not sure we’ll be going back for awhile

I don’t find the one star review that one person gave funny at all, especially since he’s complaining it wasn’t cooked. Also, he has only one review on his account, so I’m pretty sure this is a review that a competitor encouraged to move the rating down on this business. We all know what Take & Bake means! I’ve never had s bad pizza from here, & have always been in & out quickly. Reviewing on Unilocal is serious business to the business owners & petty people abusing the privilege to review them & affect their rating is wrong in so many ways. Think about your actions people! While you’re at it, stop in & get a great pizza at a great price & bake it fresh at home when you are between pay checks & cannot afford a $ 40 pizza already cooked;)

I just ordered a pizza, which will be ready in 20 – 25 mins. Can’t wait to put it in the oven, but know it will be worth the wait. We never go to the «ready cooked» pizza any longer because this taste so good right from our oven. The staff in Placerville is the best. Thank you Papa Murphy.

Wow, what a great value! Oh and the Pizza is excellent! First time for me to visit a Papa Murphy’s, I asked questions and got the answers and all the help that I needed to place my order. My pizza was ready to go ASAP! I will definitely be back to try other menu items. Thanks for a great experience.

Fairly inexpensive, and great overall quality! A delicious take and bake option for the Placerville area!

First of all my pizza wasn’t even cooked anit nobody got time to cook that shit at home I want my pizza now how does this place stay open… I mean really… my kids were hungry and mad at me I tried to heat it with the microwave but it didnt work…

I recently walked into the local papa Murphy’s to place an order. I was a bit confused at first, as I went to wait at the area marked «orders» and nobody came to help. Of course, there were four employees behind the counter, but they were all busily making pizzas. A cashier at the far end of the counter called out that she could help me at the order pickup register. I felt a bit foolish for waiting where I should have, according to the signs, only to find out that I wasn’t in the right place after all. Maybe it was just the time of day? Anyhow, other than the initial mix up, the ordering process was really smooth. I didn’t have to wait long before they had topped my pizza and called my name. Once I got home and baked it, I was really able to enjoy it. I generally order delivery when I am in the mood for pizza, so papa Murphy’s is a rare treat.

Just moved to the Placerville area so we have been trying all the pizza places. We liked PM’s thin crust; we will try a few others.
The price is right, even if you have to bake it yourself.

Sure, it’s not gourmet, but take this place for what it is and not what it isn’t. A perfectly good pizza at a good price. Several steps above what you’ll get from the frozen food section and a couple steps below a quality made from scratch pie.
Have never had a bad pizza from this place yet, and am a big fan of the Veggie Delight (hold the onion, add olives) even though I’m a proper omnivore! ;-) Service can be a little on the «ehhhh» side at times, but never had anyone be remotely close to rude.
IMHO, in terms of ‘Bang For The Buck’ it’s pretty hard to beat!

Take and Bake — what can you say? There’s no way this could be considered a great pizza, but, for as far as it goes, it’s OK.

Always a dependable favorite. Consistantly good pizza with decent salads to go. Bread sticks a good if your really hungry and if they have them cinnamon rolls are not bad.
