Let me preface this by saying I have been going to the Romeoville Seva for over two years to get my eyebrows threaded. I have converted many friends to threading by bringing them there, and always had a great experience. About a year ago, I moved to Naperville and continued to make the trek to Romeoville, but was SO excited to hear they were opening a Plainfield location! With opening day coupons in hand, my best friend(another loyal Seva threading customer) and I headed over there for a mani/pedi last Saturday around 4:30pm. They seemed busy upon arrival, but I’ve seen them work through a line like nobody’s business before, so I wasn’t concerned. We checked in on their electronic system, and were told to take a seat, which is a little awkward in and of itself because the waiting chairs are facing the pedicure chairs, so you feel like you’re staring down the women being serviced, waiting to take their spot. There was no suggestion of how long the wait time would be, so we assumed we would be seated soon. We waited for about half an hour in the waiting area, then my friend was seated in a pedicure chair, where she began soaking her feet. As she was soaking, I watched the woman cleaning the chair next to her, where I assumed I would be seated, and she barely sprayed down the bowl and rinsed it before filling it with water for my feet. I crossed my fingers that she knew some secret about sanitation that I don’t. After having to turn the water off MYSELF because she had walked away and left it to overflow, I was seated in that chair, where the water was almost cold and the bubbles weren’t working. Although I was assured that the jets would be fixed, they never were, and I soaked in still water for about an HOUR. At this point, I’m annoyed to have been there for almost two hours with no warning, and my feet are freezing, pruned, and swollen. Not very relaxing. The pedicure itself was awful, I came in with decent, groomed feet, and left with rough, cut up soles and a sloppy polish job. No apology was given for any of it until we stated that we would not be staying for a manicure, and they realized we were not going to tip. Even after that, the manager rudely harassed my boyfriend about his eyebrows(which look great, for the record) and we got out of there as fast as we could. I hope this is just an opening week screw up, but I won’t be back to find out.
