Went on 6−25−16 and had a really good experience. We had been before about 2 years ago, but decided, with coupon in hand, to go back and the burger was really good. It had beef, sliced brisket, bbq sauce and two fried onion rings on top, in-between a sour dough bun. I couldn’t eat it all, so I brought the leftovers to work with me and re-heated them. It was even good re-heated. The wife had a chicken salad and she raved about it. The glasses of tea and coke are very large and the waitress asked us if we wanted a to-go cup when we were leaving. We will be back!

So I called to see if they’d have room for a large party(16), and if they had the USA vs Paraguay game available to watch. The employee said yes, and yes, so I said we’d be there in 10 min. They were happy to accommodate! Upon arrival I saw two 8 top tables with«reserved» signs right next to two TVs both with the USA game on. They were ready to go! And it’s not like the place was empty upon arrival, so having this set up so quickly was impressive. The service for our large group was also impressive, fast, and our server was great with one table full of kids and one full of adults. All the food was hot and yummy,(burgers, nachos, fried mushrooms, salad…) and there were no complaints! Food also came out fairly fast for a large group. Impressed all the way around, great job! Great service!

I want to love this place. We have eaten here on a few occasions. The food is pretty good, not great. Service was good. Burger was burned and fries were way too salty. Hubby likes the catfish sandwich. Onion rings are WAY too greasy.(Unless you like tempura). It’s a decent spot. Not the best or the cheapest. Just average.

My fiancé and I ate here on May 7th, we started with fried pickles as our appetizer and both had a burger. The fried pickles weren’t greasy, but we’re crispy and cut thick, unlike the flimsy, soggy fried pickles you find at most other restaurants. I ordered the bluezburger with a side salad, which came out perfect, and my fiancé ordered the blue cheese burger. He can be a bit picky about his food, but had no complaints about the burger or fries, which were seasoned perfectly. All of the ingredients seemed to be fresh, the bun was tasty and toasted perfectly, and the cost of the food was priced well for the portions we received. Definetely will be back.

Note well that I am basing this review almost solely on the food(as I usually do). I’ve seen comments about the service in other reviews, and while our service wasn’t outstanding, it was pretty good, which is good enough for me. I’m all about the food. Having said that, first up on our table was an order of the«Onion Ringz»(the Z deal is kind of their«thing» here), and they’re being more understated than the British when they say they’re «jumbo and beer battered». They’re positively huge, and positively delicious, possibly the best onion rings I’ve ever had. The batter was crisp, golden brown and not greasy, and the onion therein was substantial as well. If, however, you prefer a minimal batter, these probably aren’t for you. Also note that they don’t come with any kind of sauce; they’d do well to start offering something like what usually gets brought out at other places, that ketchup/mayo/horseradish blend(you know what I’m talking about). Next up was my burger, the Bluez Bruised Blue Cheese Burger. I omitted the lettuce and tomato and subbed in the jalapeño cheddar bun, but otherwise, it was stock. The bun was excellent, kind of a brioche affair, very fresh, and a delicate heat from the jalapeño. The meat is a substantial 6 ounce slab, cooked to a nice medium. The blue cheese wasn’t one of those sissy concoctions, it was the real deal. If there was a knock, the bacon strips weren’t exactly what I’d call«thick cut» and were fairly small, but they did pack a good flavor punch and, after some rearranging, fit the burger nicely. I should also mention the french fries: hand cut and fresh, they were fried to a perfect golden brown and tasted great. This was really a good meal, at a place that I might not even have noticed without Unilocal.Give it a try if you’re hankering for a burger!

When we tried the drive-thru, it was much more relaxed since there wasn’t a line. We had a complex order, but the server was patient and we made it out with everything. We got confused on the jalapenos we thought we ordered(we wanted fried ones), but the stuffed ones ended up being pretty good, so no harm there. I’d go again, but no need to rush. The atmosphere inside is great, too :)(Plus there’s an outdoor seating area)

Wow. How to begin? Let’s start with the pluses. The waitstaff is friendly and the menu looks extensive. We left after the app, so we didn’t try any of the mains. It might be a cool place to do a biker style happy hour at, if you’re so inclined. OK. Here’s the cons. First, the unsweet tea we ordered came out sweet. The server was trying to handle the whole dining room and patio herself, and while it wasn’t at all crowded, it looked like she was struggling a bit. We got our correct beverage and ordered the naked wings; half buffalo and half lemon pepper. When you order 10 wings for $ 11, you kind of expect things. Like an even number of drumettes(the«upper arm» portion) to the«lower arm» portion. Nope. Two drumettes and 8 skinny little, overcooked-yet-greasy lower arms. No celery. No carrots, just 10 sad looking little chicken bits scattered on a platter. The table was dirty and sticky when we sat down. Ew. The bathroom stank like some forgotten, old service station john in the middle of old west Texas. Won’t be back.

The burger here is damn good. It’s thick, juicy, flavorful, on a sourdough bun. The patty is large, tender and delicious and it’s not overpowered in flavor by any of the toppings. And hands down, they make the best onion rings we have ever had. Evar. So good. I believe they’re still experiencing growing pains, although, if I heard correctly, they’ve been around for about 4 years. It’s obviously a family owned joint and I’m more than happy to patronize such places. The staff were all young — highschool or college aged. They were inexperienced, clearly, and the service was extremely poor. But that was made up for by the fact that the owner was present, interested and engaging. He just needs to retrain the staff to time their service correctly, check on patrons more often, and food needs to come out more promptly. The patio looks very spacious and inviting. I look forward to any embellishments the put out there — lights, fans, plants, anything to spruce it up a bit and make it enticing. I foresee updating them to 4 stars after future visits. They have a solid foundation and already, I know I’ll be back for the food. As long as they continue to improve service, they’ll be golden.

Came here April 6 with my husband and another couple. First of all, walked in and no one greeted us. We sat down for over 10 minutes before they came to get our drink order. All of the servers looked like they weren’t a day older than 16. There is NO way they were old enough to serve alcohol. Drinks…3 of us ordered tea and my husband ordered soda. The tea was so gross, it tasted like it had been sitting in that metal container for days and tasted tinny. Yuck! Appetizer…we ordered the fried pickles. The breading was so oily and full of grease that you could barely taste the pickles. Gross. Entrees…the 4 of us ordered 2 burgers, a chicken sandwich, and I got the catfish platter. The 2 burgers came and we’re just so so. Nothing special, which is weird since that’s what they are known for. The catfish platter came. The fish was breaded in fried chicken batter and was so thick and oily. It was disgusting! The jalapeño slaw was so bland and tasted like miracle whip. I sent the entire platter back minus the two bites I forced myself to take. The server FINALLY about 30 minutes later brought the ticket. He was going to charge me for the catfish platter and for the tea. Both of which I sent back and did not consume. Give me a break! Is this your first job kid? You’ve got a lot to learn. I don’t know how this place has won awards because it was disgusting and ran by children who obviously have never worked a day in their lives.

Solid little place, located in a former Jack-in-the-Box building. The burger is pretty good. Not the best you’ll ever have but it’s a step above fast food and fast casual burgers. Thick patty, great ingredients. Actually the bacon and guacamole on the burger were excellent. The fries were solid as well. Again, not the best you’ll ever have but not bad at all. For the price, the food was spot on. The problem with being a «pretty good» restaurant is that you’re going to be forgettable when compared to other burger joints. I imagine that if you live in the area, you’ll probably happily frequent the joint, but it wouldn’t be worth the drive for me to come down from McKinney to visit unless I already happened to be in the area. They serve Pepsi products(which is a big plus in my book) and beer! The menu was quite vast and they allegedly have a drive thru opening at some point, although I can’t imagine how that would work since it takes an extremely long time to get your food. We had some issues with our server… even though they were extremely empty we never got refills and had to flag him down to get our checks. In general, the service was extremely slow and it seemed like a different person visited our table every time. They had a decent patio area if the weather permits.

I really want to give it more stars :(This was my 2nd visit. I came back because I thoroughly enjoyed it last time. Both orders were to go. Similar orders. I ordered the Buffalo in the Hen House burger that has bacon, a fried egg, L, T, O, P, no sauce. I asked for mayo on the side. The lady helping the newer guy ringing me up mentioned to him that there was no need to put the mayo on the ticket bc they will give me packets. Cool. The burger comes with house cut fries. I also ordered 6 piece honey bbq wings. The service was very friendly. I didn’t mind waiting for my order. I was watching TV, conversing with the newer guy :) Food comes, very timely. Hot. Smells good. Cool. I’ve had the burger so I had expectations. I love a burger with a fried egg :) I get home. Food still hot.(I live close) Sit down to eat, I realize there is no mayo packets in the bag. Hm. maybe they should have put it on the ticket after all :/No huge deal. It’s the egg that matters anyway, right? :) First, I open the box to the wings. They are a good size wings. The sauce was tasty but minimal. The wings were overall pretty good, not great. If I were to order them again, I would ask for them to put more sauce on the wings or ask for a side of the sauce. Now, the burger. Looks good. Nice size patty. Cooked right. I see the egg, nice! I open up the burger just to inspect it a little bit… You remember earlier,. «love a burger with a fried egg»,“it’s all about the egg”? Well, the egg on this burger had no yolk :0 None. Not a cooked yolk(still not okay), but no yolk. So my dry(no mayo) burger just got more dry and my hopes for a craving cured, shattered. Where’d my yolk go? The fries were good. I’m not sure if the first time was the fluke(great food) or if this one is(not great food). Best 2 out of 3? Do I dare? Hm… maybe on somebody else’s dime… and dining in. Maybe. I hope you find this review helpful. Happy Unilocaling!

The owner is always there and makes sure all customers are taken care of — even pitching in behind the bar and in the kitchen. Great staff, great service, and great food that’s fresh and made from scratch. I have never had a bad experience or bad food here.

We have been supporting Buffalo Bluez since the opening. We were excited to have a neighborhood place that wasn’t a chain. In the beginning we enjoyed good food, family friendly atmosphere, awesome onion rings and the kids loved the milkshakes. After a while, we could see things starting to slip, greasy onion rings, clean up not so good; but the burgers stayed strong. We stayed loyal even though you could get a burger of the same caliber at other places for a little less $$. Fast forward to a week ago… food is the same but now the prices have increased. You can get an equal or better burger elsewhere at a lower price. Also, the kids have been extremely disappointed as the milkshake machine seems to be down all the time. We really enjoyed having a neighborhood joint that was convenient and had good food, but sadly the prices are too high for the quality.

When Buffalo Bluez initially opened all of us locally were very excited to have a neighborhood place to meet. Here’s the bottom line: food is mediocre and high-priced at best, drinks are ridiculously high($ 5.00 for Shiner, $ 8.00 per glass for cheap wine). A night out here will cost you a lot more than a restaurant at Shops of Legacy and leave you feel that you received way less than what you paid for. On a good note, the staff is very friendly and attentive along with Sean, the owner. Very kid-friendly with games(giant Jenga), karaōke and it’s close for people living around Legacy & Coit. Give us a little bit of a break with you prices and put a little more flavor into your food and we’d all love to spend some time and money at Buffalo Bluez again.

Pretty good burger. Very messy burger, like the kind you have to have a napkin after every bite. I had the bleu cheese burger with bacon and it was pretty good. The fries were really good and super tasty. The place has picnic bench style tables and I wasn’t sure at first if I had to order at the register or if someone came and took my order, but just have a seat and someone will come and take your order. Overall, I was pleased with this burger place.

3.5, only because I love my burgers. Nice little spot with a good atmosphere. We loved the milkshakes-surprise hit. The burgers. Reading the different burger options gets you very excited. However, we tried 4 burgers and felt the burgers were missing something. Maybe more seasoning is needed in the meat itself. But the toppings were plenty, bread options great, and the burgers are huge. So lots of potential here and would definitely be a hit for others who don’t venture out on their burgers…
