Denny’s

Stopped in at this Denney’s for break fast. A buddy and I were heading to Frisco for the National championship FCS, go Bison. We met up with my sister and her husband.
Good news, we were waited on right away. I got the 2 dollar flap jacks. They were fine. Nothing special about them.
My buddy got the same and added bacon. Bacon was crispy, good sign. My sister got hash browns and an egg. The egg was cooked as ordered.
The reason I’m taking off 2 stars is the waitress at the end of the meal. She brought the bill and my bro-​on-​law said he would take it. He said my buddy would pay the tip. He gave her his credit card and said you can run this.
The waitress said, «you have to fill out the bottom giving me a tip.» He repeated himself and said the other guy will leave a cash tip. She rolled her eyes and walked away.
She had been a good waitress worthy of a 30% tip until then.
I thought, «man, the ovaries this girl has to practically demand a tip.» I thought she should now go tipless but my buddy left cash.
Food was decent and came quickly but the attitude I didn’t need.

There is at least cleanliness here at this place
Uncomfortable temperature– meaning it’s 45 degrees outside and it feels the same.
Coffee is sub-​par
Here at this place CANT is their favorite word all the way thru the Manager on duty.
I had ask for the ultimate skillet — no onions cause non of anyone’s business but they make me nauseous–
The server (the 2^nd one) says CANT do that because they would have to separate the onions from the mix. After a minute of discussion I asked for the manager — & WOW he got a bit dramatic and tried to make a loud scene out of the deal. And was like just wait I go to store for you to get green bell pepper (coming off with much sarcasm) and be right back. I simply pointed out it was red bell pepper and he got louder.
I simply said to him if you CANT then there is no reason for further conversation
10 minutes later they send another server to ask me what I want. Really??? LOL

The manager asked us to leave so he could serve other people. We were only a party of 2 and had just finished eating and we’re talking and finishing our drinks. He never asked how the food was or how our service was. So fine we left. He doesn’t have to worry we will NEVER be back. I am telling as many people as I can because this manager can’t handle being polite to his customers. You are just money to him. He doesn’t care if you like the food or not. Just get out. Oh and conveniently the Web address and 800 number are missing from the survey portion of the receipt. So you can’t give a survey. Gee I wonder why.

My husband and I have been coming here for the last 5 years. Sometimes the service is good, but most of the time they fall short. We usually wait a few months and then go back HOPING they have fixed the problems that we have experienced. Today was our final visit! We arrived on a Saturday around 10am. They were not very busy, but even if they WERE busy, they are a restaurant and should be able to handle customers when it’s busy.
1^st…we were seated at a table that was dirty! Trash and water everywhere, and the hostess just walked away. We waited 5 mins for someone to come over before I flagged down a waitress. We got the table cleaned off and ordered our coffee and food.
2^nd…15 mins went by and we never got coffee refills or even saw anyone for that matter!
3^rd…after 25 mins of NO waitress in sight and no food or coffee… we went to find a manager. We said we wanted to pay for our coffee and leave and he questioned us over and over again if we had food. What!!! We are leaving because we never got our food!
We will never be back!

The food was awesome and the portions were large. I had to take home half my food. The waitress was outstanding and very friendly. I didn’t have have to wait more than ten minutes for my food to come out. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Came For brunch on 8÷8÷14 around 10:45am. We were seated at the bar. First thing we noticed were a couple flies at the fruit and salad station. We watched the flies landing on the croutons and other food items. The salad/​fruit station cover was open (ummm… Not safe food handling). We ordered eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, hash browns and it was over 20 minutes. We brought the flies to the attention of the manager and he was completely apathetic and full of excuses. Waited a few more minutes and cancelled our order, except for the smoothie and tea that we already have.
We will not return to this location.

Very good service if only a little forgetful. Tried a new burger Bourbon Bacon cheeseburger with G F frys. Very tasty! Also had the new Dr. Doom lava cake desert. Took them 4+ try’s to get it right. It seemed to keep falling like a sufflia. But it was very good and CHOCOLATE. They offered to pay for the desert since it took so long to get to me. It was most kind of they, but I paid for it anyway. Because it was so good. Very good service team at this Denny’s!!!

Read reviews before I went and picked this Denny’s over the one on Preston. Really friendly wait staff. Fast on refills of coffee. Pleasant atmosphere.

Love this dennys always fresh great egg whites. Great service. Yummy. My son loves their pancakes

My experiences here have never been wonderful, but last night’s service was terrible and definitely requires a review. The restaurant was cold and I find its very difficult to enjoy your meal and the company you’re with when you’re freezing. The service was a joke. She had an excuse for everything that went wrong. Instead of taking responsibility and apologizing, we heard all sorts of reasons as to why she wasn’t to blame. As for our food, that was worse than the service. Coffee was colder than the ice water, skillet had 4 pieces of steak and barely covered the pan and also uncooked eggs, and the rest of the food was not hot. The restaurant had maybe 5 customers at the time and most of the staff was standing around. After voicing our complaints and receiving all the excuses she had up her sleeve, a «manager» showed up. In his own words, I am only a server but I have management experience so I act as the manager at times. He offered to replace the skillet but at this point everyone else was close to finished and we didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes for another skillet. They removed the skillet from our bill and the «manager» offered to fix it IF we come back and IF he is our server, even though one of the excuses we were given is that «the skillets come prepackaged and cannot be altered.» Once we received the bill, I noticed we were charged $ 1.89 for a single biscuit (and it didn’t even get brought to our table until I was halfway done). Waitress says it should have been 2 biscuits and her actual manager (he left shortly before the pretend manager came to our table) told her it was only 1. She wasn’t going to mention it and waited until I noticed the price to bring me the second biscuit in a to go bag.
I work in a restaurant and I understand some things like portions and pricing come from corporate and cannot be changed on store level. But I also understand how to handle customers and what can be done in event of an issue. These problems were not handled properly and we won’t be back to this location anytime soon. Makes me wonder how many other people feel this way, we went for dinner when most restaurants are packed full and there was only 2 other tables with people. 5 in total besides us.

I will never go there again! My husband and my baby we’re waiting for 10 minutes and no one seated us– we turned around and left!

Welp me and my friends came because it was one of the only places open, and it’s a great place to hang out after hours. Like if you needed some place to sit and chat. But the food here is like someone popped it into the microwave and you ate it. the food was not good. However I did give this place a 2 stars because the service was good and the overall experience was good.
I would recommend going to ihop or steak and shake if you wanted a late night dinner with you and your friends, but surely not denny’s.

My fiancée and I have come to this location for the last year. It has always been great food, service and staff. Lately it has gone down hill. We actually walked out recently because nobody ever came to our table after we had been seated even though we were passed by repeatedly. We never even got asked what drink we wanted. This wasn’t the first time either. The food has also gotten sloppy like they are in such a hurry. It seems very understaffed. The manager doesn’t really help either, at least not in the right areas. The time we walked out he was hovering over someone putting together a togo order instead of just letting her do it and seat us. When he finished micromanaging putting food in a plastic bag, he sat us but didn’t ask us what we wanted to drink and walked off. When we walked out the waitress told us she was the only person there yet there was her, another girl and the manager. Sad to see a great place going downhill and I feel bad for the overworked waitress. We have stopped going after being weekly customers for over a year.

my waitress is an old lady with glasses texting on her phone. made us wait 50 minutes plus for eggs, sausage, and sandwich. i came for breakfast and its already lunch time. guy is cleaning vents on top of my table while i was trying to order.

Update: have been back here two more times and both times have had my order either arrive late or be messed up. I really want to like this place as the staff is generally friendly, but having timely food prepared to order is kind of table stakes for a restaurant of any kind. Not sure if I will return.

Messed up the order. Low on ingredients without notifying — got meal with missing green peppers, tomatoes and more. I ate it anyways though. Denny’s is a good joint overall, but at times it can be disappointing. The portions vary depending whose serving. Greasy food this time around
On my way back home to Texas from Cali — we stopped at one in the middle of nowhere in Arizona — massive portions of food and less greasy!

The good… Free Grand Slam breakfast on your birthday. My waiter was super nice and attentive even though he knew I was just there (by myself) for a free meal.
The not quite as good… The hash browns were a little bit burnt, and the sausage links were overcooked.
In all, this was so much better than some other Denny’s experiences I have had that it deserves the 4 just for really great service.

OK. Lets start out the fact that it is Denny’s. They have basically built an empire on drunk people too stoned to give a darn about the food they are eating and travelers who need something to eat while they are on a trip so basically what I am saying is we aren’t talking about fine cuisine here.
This Denny’s is on the same property as the hotel I am staying at so out of ease and convenience I have eaten here several times.
The morning crew is awesome. The food is good and the service is exceptional. They really do a good job.
The evenings… not so much. I had one server he was marginal. I think he was new so I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. But the cook at night has issues.
The first time I was there in the evening I ordered «The build your own burger». Which I think they should rename «You get whatever the hell the cook wants to give you». None of the items I selected came on the burger and everything I didn’t want came on it.
The waitress got the majority of it fixed. I could hear her reading the riot act to the cook in the back. The problem was I kept finding items missing and after a while I got tired of complaining. But she and the manager tried.
The next time I ordered a mushroom and Swiss burger. I told the new guy I just wanted Mushrooms and Swiss cheese, nothing else. I got the burger and there were onions on it. I gave in and ate it. Sometimes you have to pick your battles.
If you want basic food at a semi reasonable price this place is as good as any.

This place wasn’t too bad. It was a nice size and the food was good! I got a waffle, but it’s hard to mess that up. My brother got a veggie burger and my dad got some other breakfast item. I enjoyed it. The restaurant was clean and my drink was filled up to my satisfaction.
