This is our favorite Greek restaurant in the Metro, authentic Greek and the food is just to die for, from salad to dessert. I normally get the Dolmas as an appetizer, which are amazing and worthy of a meal themselves. The Greek combo(Dolma, Spanakopita, Souvlaki, Broiled Scampi & Mousaka, and the sides rock as well) for dinner is great if you’ve got room(it comes with Dolmas, so you may want to get another appetizer if you want a bit more variety); be sure to get it with their excellent Greek salad, which is not to be missed. The gyro plate is also highly recommended. For dessert, the Baklava is simply the best I’ve had in the area, amazing. They also offer some very nice Greek wines, Bulls Blood is my personal favorite. Very friendly service and a nice intimate atmosphere round out this hidden gem. A must-try if you love Greek!

Decently priced food. The lemon rice soup is really good! Later in the day it’s greasy. Also if you want the best bread get there earlier. As the bread is hard later on. The place is never busy from what I can tell. The service is a little slow, but they’re very polite. Décor is kinda 90s dine in Pizza Hut haha without booths lol. The pastitso or whatever is gross. Don’t do it… Well that’s all I have to say about that.

What a great little Greek place! I ordered takeout based on the recommendation of a client. I had the gyro plate and it came with TONS of gyro meat, awesome tzatziki, green beans, lemon potatoes, a mini loaf of bread and Greek salad. The meat was tender, but my favorite was the potatoes! I know it is so simple, but they were so good. The salad was good, but they overloaded it with dressing. Lots of food for $ 16 including tip.

Pricey for small small portions of mediocre food and a rude owner. I love Greek food and I stick to basics like spanakopita, moussaka, etc. On two visits I ordered spanakopita. Both times the portion was small even for an appetizer and had very little filling. The Greek salad was 95% lettuce with some dry basil and swimming in vinegar. Any oil back there? Guess not. The moussaka I ordered on one visit was basically all potatoes. I took it apart looking for eggplant. There were a few thin slices. Even the bechamel was skimpy. For a potato dish the seasoning was nice, but given the main ingredient is supposed to be eggplant it was pretty pathetic. The last visit(and I do mean Last Visit) I ordered lamb. Overcooked. The chops must have been from a pigmy lamb and were gray all over — no sear whatsoever. The owner walked by and asked how everything was without even pausing. Don’t ask if you don’t want to know the answer, right? I said my lamb was overcooked, which was apparently not the right answer. I said«It’s lamb. It should be rare in the middle.» He asked if I still wanted it. I said«Well, not really. I’m not going to eat it.» So he picks up the plate, starts to walk away and says over his shoulder that I should have ordered it medium. I had to say rather loudly«It never occurred to me to tell a Greek how to cook lamb» and ooh, I thought we might throw it down right there. But seriously. And if you don’t want the whole restaurant to hear, don’t walk away from me while you’re talking. He went in the kitchen and I think he made some himself, which were only very slightly pink in the middle, and still without any sear. For fourteen bucks! If you find yourself here, ask if the chops are thicker than a quarter of an inch. Since you can buy two luscious 1−½ — 2″ lamb chops for fourteen dollars I’d have a nice meal at home. For sure ask if the moussaka has any eggplant in it. And tell Kostas Felicia says hi.

The lamb chops were good but not amazing. I would come back but recommend Palatia as greek food. Wine was good but food not so much.

This restaurant has been around for years, no wonder the food is consistently excellent. Friendly service and always some great specials. It’s great for date night or family dinner.

Great Greek food, awesome service! The owner came up to my table and we started talking, I’m part Greek and he told me a little bit about where my last name comes from(I don’t know much about my Greek side). He was very friendly, asked if we enjoyed our food, and even gave me a little history. Besides a friendly owner, Kostas has delicious food! I had a Gyro, it was great and filling! Mmm, if you’re looking for Greek food… this is the place to go!:)

I have to admit it was so much more pleasant because we were kinder-frei(child-free) and I had almost forgotten how lovely that is. Right around the corner is a place called Adventure Kids, so if you too need a child-free evening you can drop your kids off there. We got there at precisely 6pm on a Friday night and it wasn’t very crowded at all. I asked if they could get us through in under an hour as we had a movie, and they did so with no problem. They kept the water glasses full always, and deliver complementary, unlimited french bread to the table. I’ve dined there before and although we didn’t order the hummus this time due to the time limit, I do know that is exceptional. My husband ordered the Gyro Plate for $ 12.95 and I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki(11.95). My husbands meal came with a spiced green bean side and awesomely herby potatoes. My meal came with those same green beans and yellow rice. I wasn’t given an option on the sides and I didn’t ask. But they were lovely. I’ve seen pictures here where people got spinach; I should have asked for that. But I ate everything. My husbands meal came with this yogurty Tzatziki sauce which was awesome with my chicken, so I quickly stole it off him. I strongly recommend asking for a side of that if you get the souvlaki. Check and see if there is a Groupon available. No complaints as to the speed, quality or service. We were both very full when done. Being that they are in such close proximity to the child care center, we would definitely eat there again.

All the food is very fresh and nicely prepared. The owner is from Greece and prepares the food the way it should be. Don’t try to get something off the Groupon menu and expect to be fully satisfied. You should be spontaneous and order something you haven’t tried before. The meat entrees are where it’s at.

The food tasted fresh and clean. I love the veggies because it tastes great without it feeling oily or greasy. I also had the Spanich and feta pie. Freshly made with a crunchy crust. Not too many vegetarian options, but I’d be back for what there is.

Nice service and ambiance but the food leaves a bit more to be desired for. Been to Greece and have lived in cities with Greek towns and it unfortunately doesn’t make the cut. Great greek salad though and flavored falafel patties.

Love, love, love this place. Owner always friendly and comes to your table to say hello. The tzikiki is fabulous and the pita bread always soft and hot. Love their crab claws. Usually not a wait.

Beat customer service I’ve ever experienced. Sharing Greek culture with one of our sons and even though we were stuffed from all the delicious food, our waiter brought us a baklava to share. Everything is fresh and made in house. Will definitely return. Gyros & Lamb were both top notch.

Best Greek in the city. If you read a bad review about this place notice that its always from GroupOn people. Some of the freshest fish in the city of Dallas. Highly suggest you go. We are big fans. Great owner. Great staff.

I’ve been to Kostas twice, and both times I left satisfied and happy because of the food and the service. The owner Dimitri(Dmitri? Demitri?) is kind and attentive, and the staff are all well dressed. The low lit ambiance of the restaurant is also commendable — you could go there for a casual lunch date or for more romantic/formal occasions. It goes both ways. Now, in my opinion you could honestly just go to this place and order their avgolemono(egg and lemon) soup along with pita bread and call it a meal/large snack, depending on how hungry you are. The pita bread comes out warm and soft, wrapped in a cloth napkin, and has a yummy doughy(pleasantly doughy, not raw doughy) mouthfeel. If you order hummus the bread comes on the side, but after trying the hummus a couple times I’d recommend skipping the dip and just going for the carbs(I mean, who doesn’t like warm bread?) The soup is pretty tart and is a pretty yellow cream color, I really enjoy the brightness of the lemon in it. I ordered a bowl to split with my mom and the waiter brought it out in two small cups, so that was also considerate. For entrée I’ve ordered their spanakopita and mousaka, which come with chunks of potatoes and seared zucchini. The potatoes are also sour and lemony(yum) but the zucchini lacks some seasoning. I actually found this to be beneficial because although the mousaka was bursting with flavors it leaned a bit on the heavy/salty side and having the zucchini on the side balanced things out. The mousaka itself was suuuuuper creamy. Eggplants were cooked to mushy perfection and blended with the mashed potato layer on the top. Those components, plus the ground meat, sucked up all the tomato sauce and created a happy explosion in my mouth. Next time I’d probably ask them to refrain from adding the extra sprinkle of cheese on top, it was slightly overkill. The spanikopita was way flaky, but the spinach and cheese actually proved a lot richer than I expected so it was hard to finish all of it in one sitting. Never fear, for I brought it home and finished it the next day. :) All in all, a quality joint that has carved out its name in the Greek cuisine in Plano. Enjoy!

Got a Groupon for this place and was excited because I’ve never really had bad Greek food. However, I was a bit disappointed with the food here. We came here on a Thursday night, and it wasn’t busy at all. I ordered the Greek combo while my boyfriend ordered a gyro platter. The meals came with complimentary bread and soup or salad. I got to say, the salad was my favorite part of the entire dinner. I just wish the food lived up to it. The gyro was a bit dry and overdone and just didn’t have enough flavor. The Greek combo was overpriced in my opinion. I liked the broiled scampi and the dolma. The spanakopita and mousaka were alright, and the souvlaki was so dry! The food here wasn’t horrible, but I have tried a good amount of other Greek restaurants that are better to me.

My go-to joint for a taste of Hellas! Service is top notch. 5 stars for sure. The owner, Dmitri, is one awesome guy. Even when busy, he takes the time to say hi to me and shoot the shit for a minute. He always gives me a couple free dolmas with whatever I order, just ’cause. Above and beyond in that department. Food is 5 stars as well. I usually get a gyro, mousaka or the Greek veal. The veal lemonato is good. The Greek veal is excellent. Gyro always tastes fresh and the mousaka is great as well. Sides are usually a veggie and Greek potatoes. Oh, those potatoes. I could write an ode to them, no BS. House salad or soup for your starter. Get the avgolemono soup. Just sayin’. Taramasalata is damn good as well. Great place for your Mediterranean fix.

Definitely a fan! I wanted to try something different for Valentines Day this year so I made reservations at Kosta’s. My wife and I pulled into the parking lot a few minutes early and her face was priceless. She couldn’t believe this was where I was taking her for our«Romantic» dinner. To her credit, Kosta’s isn’t much to look at from the outside. It’s tucked away in a strip center. That all changed when we walked in. The interior is decorated nicely and it’s dimly lit. Each table has a candle on it. They had Valentine’s balloons tied to each table. Nice touch! My wife was instantly impressed. We no longer felt like we were in a strip center. It was actually Romantic! We had the Greek Salad and Gyros. Both were great choices. The salad was very good. Both of us love Greek salads and it’s hard to find true Greek salads in Texas. The Gyros were great. The meat was perfectly seasoned and the pita was delicious. Service was excellent as well. The waitstaff is very attentive. We noticed the owner checking on tables as well. That’s always a nice touch. We’ll definitely be back.

As a result of my wife purchasing a «Groupon» for Kosta’s, we decided to redeem it last night. Generally, we rate a restaurant on three factors: 1. friendliness and service quality, 2. food quality, and 3. atmosphere. Here goes: 1. the owner and waiter were very friendly and attentive. This is the one star they get. 2. the food was not edible — we left it on the plates. When asked if we wanted a «to-go» container, we lied a bit and said we were not going home. We split an order of hummus and pita as an appetizer. Tasteless and grainy! My wife had chicken on skewers — tasteless with gristle throughout. I had the gyro plate. The meat was cooked to the point it was like leather. Folks in Oklahoma might like it, but I prefer a little moisture. We waited approximately 25 minutes from the time the hummus was removed for the delivery of the main dishes. 3. atmosphere — there were three tables including ourselves in the restaurant. One was a woman with a small(unattended) child who let it run wild while she prattled on with the two other adults at her table the entire evening. They were there when we arrived and still there when we left. The kid was constantly bothering the people at the other table(who subsequently left), so I felt blessed that at least we were spared that experience. The restaurant, itself, was sterile with no ambient music, only a small TV on a Greek station. As I said, the management and staff were very friendly, but they desperately need someone from the«Food Network» to come in and show them how to run a Greek restaurant. I predict they will be gone within a year. In the meantime, we will continue to patronize Zorba’s that is within a mile of this location. Consistently good quality Greek food there!
