This is our favorite place in Plano! They always know us and speak with us personally. The food is always perfect whether it is simple appetizers at the bar or full fine dining. The warm chocolate cake is my wife’s absolute fav! If you haven’t been here you owe it to yourself to try it. If it’s been awhile, come back in and see the newly updated bar. And I can’t wait for the remodeled indoor/outdoor patio!

Had an event here recently in the private room. Everyone loved it! I must say that the service was better than I have experienced anywhere with a large group. Crème brûlée is wonderful!

I too am not sure how anyone can rate Mignon less than 5 stars. I have only eaten dinner there once but the brunch is why my boyfriend and I keep coming back. Is it the cheapest in town, no way — but you get what you pay for… I have never tried a brunch dish I didn’t like! The chicken and waffles and the beef tenderloin hash are my two favorites. I just tried the chicken fried(filet) steak and it was phenomenal. If you like a laid back brunch, no lines or crowds, and a mimosa(with only a splash of orange juice) this place is a must! John, the owner/manager, always makes sure we leave more than satisfied! Mignon is a hidden gem that you need to try :-)

We enjoyed a lovely meal as we celebrated our 30th anniversary. The filet Oscar and lobster Mac and cheese were outstanding. Thanks to Braynard for the wonderful service. We will definitely be back.

Rude Service and lousy food. Too many good restaurants in DFW to subject yourself to this place.

This is one of the best restaurant i have been to, I ordered a file mignon steak there was no knife needed, i was using my fork to cut the steak. it was so tender and delicious and there fog-roes just melt in your mouth. if you are in Dallas this is the place to go

The service was great and so was the food but not the price. If you like your steak«medium» in most steak houses, I’d recommend requesting«medium well» at this restaurant; my filet mignon, while it was very good, it had well over 50% pink in the center.

***If you’re worried about expensive prices, go for lunch, it’s VERY reasonable for the quality. Their lunch menu is even better than their dinner menu(which is what I reviewed in the last post), try the french dip and french onion soup at lunch! Update: Since my family moved to Frisco about a year ago, I’ve visited Texas about a dozen times from the East Coast. My family eats out almost every meal, so I’ve eaten at a lot of different establishments in Frisco, Plano, downtown Dallas, etc — everything from BBQ, to wings, to french food, to burgers, to Japanese, to Korean… you name it. I still haven’t found a place as consistently good as Mignon. I still don’t understand the 3 star rating, and the fact that the place is almost always ¾ empty unless it’s prime-time(7 — 9PM Friday/Saturday). The owner always makes sure to take good care of us, most of the wait staff is very good(there’s one slow person). But the food is always A+, and I’ve gone back probably 15 – 20 times over the last 11 months and have NEVER had a bad, or even mediocre meal. Sorry for the long post, but I just love this place and I don’t understand the negative/neutral view by some locals. It’s no more expensive than the highfalutin places in the downtown area that serve lower quality food with a worse atmosphere.

I eat all over Dallas, high price to value menu, and this place was, plain and simple, not good. The ambiance is fine, as it’s quiet and clean, but the food is the problem. It’s both salty AND bland, somehow, as well as the insult of being way too expensive for what it is. There are much better options in the area.

I am yet another patron confused to see some of the low reviews – particularly with the reasoning given behind them. In terms of complaints about the leisurely service – my friends, you are dining at a FRENCH restaurant. Slower service is not only industry standard with this cuisine but expected. Same with complaints about price – you are eating quality French food – have you ever been to a 4 or 5 star French restaurant? Most are significantly more expensive than this one – my husband and I love going to Mignon because we can almost always leave having enjoyed a $ 300-$ 400 meal for $ 150-$ 200. Should you want to have food for under $ 100, maybe consider a Bonnie Ruth’s or a La Madeleine’s. My husband and I have almost consistently had stellar experiences at this establishment. The owners are a treasure – every time we come in, they move mountains to seat us at our favorite booth and always each come by to check on the family and make sure our dinner and service are impeccable. Any time we make a request, they do whatever they can to accommodate it. The food is fabulous 9 times out of 10. The ONLY exception to this is when we have come on a busy holiday and even then, the food was not bad, just not up to their usual standards – however this is to be expected given the sudden influx of impatient, entitled diners that want to get in and out for their fancy holiday meals. My husband has not found a better steak in the Plano/McKinney/Frisco Area. I have many favorite regular dishes – the roasted chicken, the shrimp and sweet corn risotto, the seafood crepes to name a few. We try to visit Mignon no less than twice a month and I genuinely could not hope for a better dining experience. Thank you for all that you do to keep us fed and happy!

I just spent three hours of my life at this restaurant that I’ll never get back for cold eggs, bad service and dirty bathrooms never ever ever again. It was busy but it literally took more than an hour just to get cold eggs and only half of our party served. The wait staff was terrible. Our waitress took 30 minutes to get six waters to the table. I’m trying to think of something nice to say and can’t so be warned, this place has challenged to overcome. No toilet paper in the bathroom and then they get annoyed when you advise them.

There are times when you assume a good meal just because you have high expectations, but my experience was not either great or horrible so here it goes. Me and my husband decide to go eat here during lunch time just the two of us for a calm meal, we drove I saw this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. We walking in the restaurant the first impression was not bad but the place was empty they directed us to our table and there was only one more couple in the dining room, the inside look good and from what I saw clean but very quite and the music didn’t go with the ambience of the restaurant. Our server came he didn’t introduce himself to us he just ask how we where and if we wanted something to drink, I ask for water with lemon and my husband for an ice tea, he gave us time to look at the menu which they have a lunch menu and the prices where very expensive here is what I had the corn risotto with shrimp it was over cook the shrimp was flavorless and was not close to a good risotto I have had great risotto and I like them a lot so for me this was a big disappointment, and the price for his is$ 17.00, my husband had the French dip it comes with fries a side of au ju sauce he said it was ok but nothing great it was not flavorful at all he use all the sauce and even add some seasoning to the fries because it wasn’t that tasty the cost of it was $ 20, over all it was an ok experience I like to try new places and see what they offer but I won’t be coming back here at least not any time soon. The total cost for a meal for two at this place during lunch time it was $ 43.57 add tip to that and I don’t care paying good money for a great meal but when I don’t get a good meal I feel like I just gave my money away. Well I hope this review helps you this is just my experience hope you have a better one. Happy eating

It was awesome for lunch, but I feel like for the price it should have been better for dinner. Lunch– I think this is the perfect place to grab a bite with the girls or for an intimate lunch for two. When the weather is nice I like to sit on the patio, enjoy a nice refreshing beverage, and chow down on their seared tuna burger with aioli. Nom nom nom Dinner-service was good, food was good, just nothing spectacular.

This was our second time to come in almost a month. The food was delicious and service was great by Silva. Very attentive. We ordered the calamari, salads, lobster bisque, filet, shrimp risotto, short braised ribs, creamed corn, pomme fritrs, sautéed mushrooms, lobster mac and cheese. Everything was cooked to perfection. We didn’thhaveroom for dessert but will ddefinitely be back. Owner came by a few times too. Very nice place.

I don’t understand the bad reviews, though I can see where people are coming from. I had amazing service and a calming patio view, but I came here expecting it to be much cheaper. I think I read somewhere that this was a good French place if you didn’t feel like spending a fortune. but I did anyway because all of the entrées averaged $ 40 something. They didn’t have many appealing appetizer choices, but I spent a good fifteen minutes trying to decide on the main dish. I settled on 27oz filet mignons with different toppings for $ 50, and didn’t seem exactly reasonable, but I tried it anyway. I asked for it rare, and it came out medium well. It was certainly delicious, but I think my impression was tainted by my expectations going in. 4 stars for the service, character, and food despite the price. A charming place with a cushioned cell phone room! I had never seen that in a restaurant before and it was mildly delightful.

Came here with a party of four to celebrate our Christmas lunch with my coworkers and had a great experience. We were given the pre-fixed menu(which had our custom department’s name printed on top since we made a prior reservation). The crab cakes, lobster bisque, and prime steak were all fantastic and frankly too much food. Each of those would have been enough as one meal for me but I still managed the finish the crab cakes and lobster bisque and took most of the steak home. Everything was cooked to perfection and I’m even craving it now. I’m not one for too much attention from service and that’s precisely what it’s like here. The waiter was great but maybe a tad bit too attentive. If you’re looking for a fancy place to throw down some money, I’d say this place is worth trying. Don’t know if I’d find another occasion to dine here though.

Party of five for Christmas fixed price($ 70 p.p.) dinner. Main courses of filet mignon(2), Chilean sea bass(2), and scallops were all reported to be delicious and well prepared. First courses were lobster bisque, Caesar or other green salad, grilled quail. Desserts were bread pudding(4) and crème brule. Three stars because while overall the food was acceptable, the bread pudding was reported by all four eaters to be significantly sub-par, and, despite the best efforts of our server, attention to detail(none of the three courses was delivered simultaneously to each diner — the wait in one case was more than five minutes; water and iced tea requests for refill were requested three times before being acted upon) was far below the $ 70 price point. Finally, though of no impact on us, those being seated as we departed at 7:00 pm were disappointed to hear that a number of the limited services menu items were no longer available, to include prime rib, bread, and the aforementioned bread pudding(perhaps those diners dodged a bullet there). Planning, in terms of waitstaff and foodstuffs, could be better handled.
