MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes

Came back again [Aug 2014] with a coupon free burger with an order of fries and drink. and I’m trying the iceburger this time. Look at the picture. Tried it, in the future I will stick with the buns. UPDATE: Feb 2016. Back again for weekday lunch. We very much like Mooyah as we have tried many other burger joints in Collin county. I give them 5 stars now at this and their other locations in the area. The make-​your-​own is an excellent way to enjoy your meal. Also one small order of fries is enough for two people. And it one of very few fast food restaurants that serves caffeine free diet Coke Cola at the beverage station. See photo.

I’ve been eating here for a while. Tonight just ruined Mooyah for me for life. I placed an order online, went into the store to pick it up. They had my order almost ready. The girl asked the man working the grill to make my shake. The man goes and makes my shake, the problem is that I just saw him place two raw meat patties on the grill with the same gloves he was making my shake with. Then he made the shake, touching all surfaces around the cooking area and then finally he took a fat straw and placed it in the shake, all with the same gloves on. This was very unsanitary. I threw out the shake and then came home to realize that they had made 2 beef patties instead of the 2 veggie patties that i had requested. All in all, this is the worst customer experience i’ve ever had.

I went there with my wife and kids and I really liked the fact it was kid’s friendly. Their burgers and fries are very delicious and cooked on the spot. Fresh and clean food!

I like a good burger every now and then. MOOYAH is located near my home and frequently has coupons in the newspaper and mailers that are delivered to my home. The burgers are well prepared and cooked to order. The choice of toppings includes both paid and free toppings. Paid toppings include items such as bacon, cheese, extra beef patties, and avocado. The free toppings are items like condiments (mustard, mayo, ketchup, etc.) and veggies (lettuce, tomato, onions, pickle, relish, etc.).
The French fries are cut onsite and prepared to order. Both potato and sweet potato fries are available. The French fry orders are very large. The single order size can easily satisfy the appetites of two adults. I like the availability of malt vinegar for my fries. I really learned to love the condiment while living in Canada and eating way too much poutine.
I recommend MOOYAH as a good neighborhood burger joint. There may be better places for a gourmet burger in Dallas/​Fort Worth. But, I can’t walk to any of those during my lunch hour, order my meal, eat, and get back to my office in time for my next conference call.

Good burgers, good shakes, never had anything else on the menu really besides that and the fries are good too. I’m kind of disenchanted with this place now to be honest as they took away the customization they used to offer in paper, where you could select everything you wanted and show them. I have memory issues and when I get to the register I can’t remember what all I wanted anymore and it kinda upsets me, also preferred the Frisco location that had the customization built in with computers. That was the best!

My Kids Loved it! They actually eat everything, and my son keeps asking to go back so he can have sweet potatoes. The milkshakes are good and the staff is very friendly

2^nd time this has happened!!! Ordered on-​line and pre-paid…show up at designated time and guess what? 2 stupid kids look at each other and start laughing!!! Eff Me!!! Seriously? Ask for a manager, no manager there. Got the # for John the manager… He sez Haley is supposed to be here. Guess what, nope!!! Cook was very apologetic as was John but makes no difference. My $$$ go somewhere else from now on!!!

For fast food, probably the best burgers out there. My burger was a perfect medium and tasted amazing. I love that they have so many options for toppings, a little variety goes a long way!
Their sweet potato fries were also great! Nice and crispy, with excellent seasoning. I will definitely be going back. Next time I’ll need to check out one of their milkshakes, I’ve heard very good things.

This place used to be one of my favorite burger places. I went today, two booths were occupied, the rest were dirty. I sat at a table, and when my turkey burger was served, there about three napkins in my dispenser. Meanwhile, the place was pretty empty at 12:30 and the employees were standing behind the counter chatting. Another customer told the employee behind the register his meal was bad, employee was like, «Bummer». Not the best Mooyah day.

Me and my daughter (3) are frequent visitors of the Mooyahs on Independence in Plano. She loves the grilled cheese, fries and shake and I love their burgers. Plus the staff is extremely friendly.
I highly recommend this place, especially if you have kids, they have coloring pages and crayons and a huge chalk board with colored chalk that anyone can write on. My daughter loves to draw on it. When she sees the sign for Mooyahs her face lights up.

First time in. I was highly satisfied. I chose what burger, bun, and toppings I wanted. I was pleased that they did not skimp on the avocado. Yummy! Friendly and fast service. My nine year old was even pleased. We’ll be back! Thanks John.

Just plain and delicious paradise. Fresh self-​selected burgers and sweet potato fries are amazing.

Natalie A. While I thank you for your notification. I don’t think your counter staff was preparred to give any polite or real answers about the veggie burgers. He was down right rude and no explanation whatsoever. He very sarcastically said «yeah we don’t have those today» while laughing with the second cashier about it. I then said oh no why? To which he replied «we ran out» all while laughing. Won’t be back to «Your» location.

First time here and the bf and I liked it! I thought my burger was a little too messy but it was still good. The fries were very good and so was my banana milkshake. Will definitely be back… I want to try another milkshake

My husband and I visit this location almost every weekend, and the result is always the same: delicious, fresh burgers (the made-​same-​day buns!), quick service, and friendly staff keep us coming back.
Plus, this location has a Rewards program. Just give your phone # and you can build points toward free food. The owner is super-​nice too. He’s always around, checking in and making sure guests are happy.

Why is this Mooyah the best in the chain of all their burger places, the answer is Barry Newberg the franchise owner. The guy never slows down making sure everything is done perfectly, professionally, friendly, and quickly. The guy greets people at the door, wipes off tables, checks on tables, runs the register when busy, he never stops moving. Always up beat and friendly to everyone that walks in. Plus my 77 year old wife has a crush on this polite young man. He is a guy that runs a quality place. The burgers and fries are perfect, plus his employees are just as upbeat as he is. If there were more stars to give we would give them.
If you haven’t been to this Mooyah go there and experience what the rest of us in area experience, good burgers, and good friendly service.

Ugh! This was my first visit to this location, 2^nd to the franchise total. My first visit to the Denton location was great. Food, service… all on point. We went to this Plano location right in the middle of dinner time, so the 10 minute line was not liked, but was understood. What I really didn’t like was the lady at the counter rushing me and attempting to overcharge me for a shake which I did not even order. Good thing I caught her and had her correct it. The food took about 15 minutes and it was disappointing. Bland and not how I imagined… based on my experience at Denton’s location. Definitely not worth the price of the food there. The worst part about it – there was nowhere to sit except one table near the trash can. I really didn’t want to sit there, but it appeared we had no choice. As we sat, an employee came to change the trash bag, and opened the door on the trash can (which let out the repulsive smell of trash obviously) and left to go get something, carrying the bag of trash through the restaurant. I guess he forgot because he was no where in sight. Eventually, we had enough of attempting to eat our nasty dinner and smelling trash. we tossed our stuff into the wide open, bag less trash bin and high tailed it out of there.

Loved Gilbert!!! He’s who took care of my order!!! Had a ton of patience in explaining the rewards program! So of course I signed up’ Very clean inside! Made to order, once you order! Even saw my hotdog bun being sliced!!! To the buns to the meat, it’s truly prepared as soon as you order! Fries are fresh and my onions are being diced right on front of me!!! The music while I type this is upbeat and jazzy!!! Love the feel of this joint !! Please bring your family to this location! Tucked away in the kroger’s parking lot!!! There’s fast food and there’s fast food!!! This hamburger you want to sit down for!!! In and out!!! Made fresh! Big thumbs up for this hamburger dinning experience!!!

I don’t eat a whole lot. In fact, I tend to order off the kids’ menu more often than not at any eating establishment. I got a single order of the Little Mooburger and then had it slathered up with every single complimentary topping on their menu. The cashier was very friendly and was nice enough to listen all three individuals in my group repeat the same phone number so our friend could get points on his Mooyah rewards card. When you friend decided to name himself, «the real Kevin so-​and-​so» it tends to get a bit awkward the third time around. However, the cashier was a champ and laughed along with us.
Our orders came out really quickly, in about 10 minutes. In terms of taste, the meat on the Little Mooburger was average — the toppings were slathered on there and I was barely able to eat a single bite without spilling something on myself. Used napkins were amassed at the center of our table like a little tower. Overall, the burger itself wasn’t too bad. I personally think the serving size for the Little Mooburger was HUGE. But then again, I am THAT one who orders off the kids’ menu so I guess I can’t say a whole lot. I’m not a fan of their wheat buns whatsoever so perhaps the next time I’m here, I’ll opt for the white buns instead. Their fries were «eh» and nothing was really special about them.
Overall Mooyah wasn’t a terrible experience and they didn’t have terrible food. It was just a modest and relatively average escapade. I do like this particular location just because the cashier was so friendly with us but other than that, I’m still indifferent.
