We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I had the lobster ravioli and it was excellent. I was so STUFFED, but I did order dessert«to go.» THEITALIANCAKE – OMG – it’s to die for!!! This would be an excellent place to stop by, sit @ the bar, have a glass of sangria & order of garlic cheese bread after a long days work. Great neighborhood, family owned place!

We dined on a Saturday night the restaurant was not busy, so we were seated quickly. Service was good however the dishes we ordered were well below standard. First impression… you are served stale bread. This is pointed out in other Unilocal reviews. This is served with an oil and balsamic oil mixture that misses the mark. The oil stays on top and vinegar on the bottom. The meatballs, and chicken taste like they came straight out of a food service cafeteria. The gravy was lacking flavor and the meatballs had limited ingredients, no garlic, parm cheese, onion. We could not even recognize the meat ingredients. I understand plano has limited italian food, this food experience was poor and to see so many 5 star Unilocal reviews on Picasso shows a total lack of knowledge on Italian cooking.

Nice people but the bread was stale, pasta over cooked, chicken MUST have come from a can. Pizza was ok but there are better. Supernice people. But took too long and cost too much.

Had pizza and tiramisu for lunch today… The service was good since it was obviously a mom and pop place(which I love). The pizza wasn’t bad but the tiramisu was the best I have ever had! Loved it! I will be back to try more of their menu and to enjoy more tiramisu.

Great food from a family owned and run restaurant. It’s like a small east coast restaurant not a run of the mill chain.

Went there with friends recently. Max greeted us and introduced us to his new Executive Chef from New York NY. We all tried the special salmon with mouse. Absolutely the best salmon any of us have ever had. Way to go Max!!! We will be back. Love this place!!! Great selection of wines and beer and appetizers. Service was outstanding. Ambience was top notch.

The guy who took my Togo order argued with me about a dish I used to order often saying they never had it. We ended up ordering Fettuccine Alfredo but it was so oily. Literally dripping off the noodles. The pizza was under cooked and the Ziti was over cooked. I paid and didn’t realize he kept my credit card. I drove 20 mins back up there and he knew it was his mistake. I told him about the food and he offered to replace it another time(the only reason I’m giving 2stars). It was a horrible food experience and we will not EVER be going back.

We randomly stopped to eat here as we were house-hunting in the area and were really impressed. We’ve since returned several times, as well as taken advantage of their delivery service. The restaurant is family-friendly and the owners /waitstaff are so kind to our little ones, even going out of their way to bring extra green beans without being asked when they overhead how much my youngest child loved them. The pizzas are great and are our first choice for delivery pizza. They’re clearly made with fresh ingredients and aren’t greasy. The food dining in has been great, and I have been especially impressed with some of the dishes with stuffed chicken(Chicken Rollatine, I think?). The veggies are also fresh and tasty, as well as the soups we’ve tried. I was surprised to read some of the negative reviews on here about service. Our family has always found the service here to be warm, friendly, and very attentive. I believe it is a family-run establishment. We hope to enjoy many future meals at what has become our go-to Italian restaurant in Plano! Review written in Nov. 2015.

Picasso ’ s food is amazing! I had a preview to one of this weekends special, Sea bass with a white wine sauce! It was fabulous! They have a nice selection of wine, I recommend the Tom Gore cabernet. They also offer BYOB should you prefer that option. Great food at a decent price!

Well, as a long time customer, the new location has swayed me to take my business elsewhere for Italian. Their new location is actually even closer to where I live, but after today I will not return. Their new pricing structure(since they no longer have a self serve salad bar) is confusing. The first time I was not told of a charge for a salad. Bam, there it was on my check. You’d think they’d tell the customers that they recognize by sight about the change. Now, my bill today was over 15.00 for one entrée and an ice tea. My check is usually much lower… and that was back when the salad was included. I just paid it, tipped a little less than usual, and left. As an added negative, there was at least one ravioli less on my plate. Grrrrr. The service is the same as always — good but don’t expect a bubbly cheerleader blonde’s exuberant attitude, ever. I’m guessing new place = higher rent = higher menu prices(I don’t look at the menu b/c I order one of three things all the time). I want Max and family to succeed in the new location, but I will no longer contribute to that. What a shame.

Soooo, the only reason we stopped here was because Densetsu had a 35 minute wait(Sunday at 7:44 p.m.). Can’t justify coming back to Picasso a second time. First of all, they had only one table filled, which was a red flag already. However, my fiancé recognized the waitress(long brown hair) from the previous location and said it was good food. We stayed. I was perusing the menu when the waitress came and wanted to take our food order. We went ahead and put in two orders and I said I wasn’t quite ready to place my order yet. She said, no we have to put them in all at one time. I asked her why, and she had no response. Instead, she just turned around and stomped off. After that little episode, she was fine. I think that she had a change of heart and was going to attempt to be a better server(I tipped her only 18%). In any event, my displeasure was really caused by the gnats that were hovering around our table(probably because the back door of the kitchen was left open), stale bread(I love bread :(), and all the food was absolutely so rich and thick that it was really difficult to swallow. I have to say, if you like rich Alfredo sauce in all your dishes, then this place may work for you. I ordered the Seafood Linguini as a healthier option. It had«plum shrimps, baby clams, & scallops in a creamy wine garlic sauce.» I guess I overlooked«creamy.» Boy, was it thick and creamy. I ate the one scallop offered, which was large and fresh. I also ate all three shrimps offered. Also, large and fresh. No clams to be found. I skipped the pasta altogether due to the thickness of the sauce. My daughter had the Manicotti al Formaggio. She took a few bites and pushed it aside. She usually loves manicotti. Her critique, it tasted like it had vodka in it. I sampled it, again, too rich for me. My daughter ended up eating my dish and I ordered a small spinach salad. My fiancé had the Pasta con Pesto & Chicken. He ate about a third of it. I really believe the heavy sauce affected everyone’s appetite. I do have to add, the owner is quite friendly. We enjoyed his presence, but not enough to go back.

Went there hoping to have lunch at about 1:00PM today hoping to have a good meal based on some of the reviews that I’ve read. There was only one couple eating plus a mother and child that were seated waiting for what appears to be a menu. Waited a couple of minutes and no host/hostess came to greet and seat us. So we left and will never be back, what poor service… you lost a customer.

Looking for terrible service? Look no further. Our waitress, Susie, was wonderful and made sure she exceeded our expectations with her attentiveness and friendly demeanor. She was certainly not the problem. I ordered their Lasagne alle Verdure which, according to the menu, is «a healthier choice»… layers of spinach, assorted grilled vegetables, three cheeses baked in tomato sauce topped with mozzarella cheese. I’m no fool — people don’t generally elect to go to an Italian restaurant if they are seriously watching their weight or carb intake. But, it’s always nice to indulge in a meal that was created with those customers seeking«a healthier choice» in mind. The presentation was a beautifully cheesy dish, as I expected it to be. What I didn’t expect, was the assortment of grilled vegetables missing from the dish, and conveniently replaced with mounds of melted cheese. The dish was floating in layers of cheese and oil, which ultimately turned my stomach. I was disappointed, but not angry as I don’t expect restaurants to nail it every time. We calmly sent the dish back, for which Susie apologized profusely and offered several otherwise redeeming options. We simply wanted the dish removed from the bill, so we could go our separate ways. Susie kindly agreed and seemed to understand. Elma, on the other hand, came to our table with attitude in her voice and impatience on her face. She attempted to find out why I was unhappy with the dish, but quickly cut me off to remind me that lasagne has cheese, and unless something was wrong with the dish, she would not be removing it from our bill. She gave us a tired«sorry» and walked away. As the manager of this establishment, she should be ashamed of her behavior and the fact that she has eternally driven off potentially forgiving customers. Susie had to come over and apologize for her behavior. Susie sadly made excuses for Elma(it’s busy, she’s stressed) that only an inexperienced and careless manager would let her customers see. Elma’s lack of understanding, her abrasive tone, her unwillingness to offer perhaps another dish, a dessert, or in this case a credit, has earned her and the company she so poorly represents — a most appropriate review. WEWILLNEVERRETURNORRECOMMEND.

Had a wonderful experience last evening at Picasso’s. Was my first time trying the menu. After talking to the owner and his lovely daughter, I decided to let them make my meal. I was rewarded with a small Insalata Caprese, with super delicious fresh tomatoes. I asked where he got them from. He told me they came from the Dallas Farmers Market, and then emerged from the kitchen with 3 in a plastic bag. So cool! My main course was a combination of some perfectly tossed pasta with garlic, fresh vegetables and shrimp, as well as a Chicken and Crab Rollatine. Best chicken dish I have had in some time. Next time I’ll take photos to post. We will be back for much more delicious food and great conversation with the lovely people who run Piccasso’s.

I’ve been going to Picasso’s for over 15 years. Love their new location! When we first moved to Plano from Houston 20 years ago most dining choices were limited to chain restaurants. There are great neighborhood restaurants, then there are phenomenal neighborhood restaurants. Picasso’s is phenomenal in that their meals are authentic plus it’s a family owned & operated restaurant. They’ve long been a Plano neighborhood dinner favorite as well as a Legacy Drive lunch crowd destination. Their meals have always been about delicious Italian simplicity! Love the Cappelini d’ Angelo, Chicken Pesto Pasta, the meatballs, bruschetta and veal entrees. They’re also great for take-out for larger groups! They prepared a great dinner meal for my husband’s retirement party and everyone just loved it! They provide the homemade cooking smells at no extra cost! We also like to feature their appetizer spread for client events!
