It was OK. It wasn’t bad but it’s not a place I would rave about. The sign says authentic New Orleans seafood so I was excited to try this place out, but it was far from authentic. Their gumbo taste like something Campbell’s soup made. Their crab fries were awesome… if I were to come back to this place it would be for crab fries. But like I said it wasn’t bad I don’t feel like I wasted money but it wouldn’t be on the top of my list of places I crave.

I liked this placed when they first opened. The crawfish tasted fresh and was cooked well. Since their opening of the Richardson location, the quality of the Plano location has dramatically declined. Every time I’ve ordered from the Plano location, the crawfish seems it was frozen and NOTFRESH! Now, I would hate to have paid this much for a place that says they only have fresh crawfish. I’ve eaten crawfish for many years and from different places(New Orleans, Houston etc) so I know what a frozen crawfish tastes like. The service has lacked as well. The original owners were always at the Plano location and they took pride in their service and food. The recent employees I’ve seen, I do not recognize, and they are definitely not on the same page as the owners in terms of service and quality. At this point, if nothing changes, I would rather go to Cajun Corner or Boiling Crab. It’s usually consistent there and the service is always on point.

My first time visiting, and I got a pound of the shrimp to go. Shrimp was tasty, if maybe a tad overcooked. BUT, I’m glad I tried it. I’m not a huge fan of ripping off heads, shells, legs, and tails, but it was an interesting and messy experience!

Pretty, pretty good! Love the sauce, definitely order spicy(level 3 – 5) to start with. I haven’t tried the mild level, but I wouldn’t go lower than the spicy level. Everything just tastes too good with that spicy kick. I’m not good at eating with my hands… Honestly, most of the times, if it’s too difficult to eat, I probably just wouldn’t order it hah. But I make exceptions! For crawfish and shrimp. For crawfish, June is probably not the right season anymore, but Tasty Tails still had it for $ 8.99 lbs. Not very large, but oh well. The shrimp though — so big for $ 9.99 lbs. Loved the shrimp more than the crawfish this time. I haven’t tried the sides, but if you’re hungry, I’d definitely order at least two pounds to feel full!

Don’t let the location or appearance fool you. Great crawfish lunch with potatoes and corn. Cost vs. Value is good. I decided to take my food home, but the dining area seems comfortable.

My favorite place for crawfish and calamari! I’ve only had 1 bad experience out of the hundreds of times I’ve come here. I always get 3 lbs of crawfish with 1 lb of shrimp, corn, potatoes, & sausages — flavor is spicy with extra whodat sauce and 3 shots of spicy on the side as well. And I get lime, salt and pepper on the side. Thank me later. The calamari fries & sweet potato fries are delicious as well :)

This place is definitely a gem. It’s worth finding at the food court. The crawfish were a bit on the smaller side but the seasoning was on point. We got the spicy and it was the perfect amount of fire. I would visit this place again for sure.

Shrimp poboy was good. Everything was great except the bread. My sisters love the shrimp. I only do the king crab legs, which I love. We’re not big on crawfish so I dunno, other than people here love them. Love the potatos and corn in the sauce. This place over The Boiling Crab. The Boiling Crab in California over this place.

Lives up to their name — TASTY! No wait, food is good, service ain’t bad, and it’s in a food court, so if someone you’re with isn’t into seafood they have other choices! We got crawfish and a dungeness crab today. Both were good size and the sauce is good — it might be slightly garlicky, but not overkill. Will def return soon!

One of my favorite places in DFW to get crawfish. What I like most about this place is that you can order your crawfish NOLA style which is without all the sauces and garlic tossed in. You still have that option in different spice levels. NOLA style only comes in mild but the last time I ordered it actually came out a bit spicy which I loved. The Legacy location is located inside a small food court. It can get pretty busy on weekends but I’ve never had any trouble finding a table. It is BYOB here and there is a supermarket next door if you want to buy beer or drinks.

Solid eats. Tried to stop off at the boiling crab but the 2 hr wait turned us away. Happy to find this place instead. More polished place run by an Asian family from Louisiana. They were super cool, and the food was solid. Fellow customers were chatting about how they boil neckbones(optional) with their boils. I learned that that is authentic. We got the crawfish, snowcrab and shrimp with the hot garlic sauce. It was spicy, and sooo good. Great find come get some

Family found this gem on line and I’ve never seen anything like it before. Right next door to a large really nice Asian market is a food court able to seat 500 surrounded by Asian food and saki order at the counter eateries. Among the group we ordered two pounds of perfectly cooked Cajun king crab bagged with potatoes and corn on the cob, fried rice, Cajun craw dads with potatoes and corn on the cob. Also ordered was some ice cream concoctions for take out with fruits as a garnish. The food was very plentiful, well seasoned with a Cajun sauce, and fried rice that the kids loved and gobbled up. To admit as we walked in I was a little hesitant as virtually all menus were in Chinese, all the employees spoke Chinese, but when I looked at the huge sea of Chinese faces happily eating away, I immediately relaxed and the meal was great! The bathrooms were spotless, modern, and large enough to handle the crowd despite the fact that virtually every seat was taken but turnover was fast. Lots of beautiful children but Asian children tend to run amok less than most American children and we really enjoyed the food and the experience! We ARE going back! Our crab was typical king crab priced as $ 75 for two pounds but once again I think we over ordered as the food was more than plentiful. The other meals at the table were not near as expensive. THISPLACEIS A TRUEHIDDENGEM although the fabulous reviews on Unilocal were very very accurate.

I was expecting a little bit better with all the good reviews. I got the shrimp po boy and fries. The shrimp were cooked really well but the bread seemed old, which made the sandwich blah. My friend had some catfish that was amazing!!! I would give it a second try but wouldn’t get the shrimp po boy again!

Tasty tails is one of those hole in the wall places that just serves fresh amazing sea food. It’s easy to miss being in the middle of an Asian food court next to an Asian super market. The last time I had crawfish this good, it was at a Louisiana crawfish boil! Make sure you order the deliciously seasoned fries to soak up all the succulent and spicy juices.

The food was okay here, but way overpriced. I paid 24 bucks for a regular shrimp po-boy, fries, a drink, and 6 calamari«fries». The boy was so good, but the rest was just okay. The calamari fries were like fish sticks and were bland. The fries were tasty but nothing special. The restaurant is super clean and the cashiers were friendly. Instead of writing on your receipt, they have you do electronic tips and you pick one of 4(percentage based) options. It was weird since they only take your order and drop off your food. There are no waiters refilling your drinks or anything. The food was decent, but nothing special. I would rather spend less money somewhere else or pay a little more for tastier, and more, food.

A lotta hype tied to this place. Did Tasty Tails live up to it? Well, I’d say so, but it doesn’t quite make it to my «go-to» crawfish list. It is tucked away in a corner of the food court in the same lot as «Jusgo Supermarket» formerly known as Asia World. It reminds me of the food court at the mall because there are a variety of food venues surrounding this establishment(i.e. korean food, filipino food, chinese food, tofu house, shaved ice). My sister and I joked that they were hated on by the other venues because almost every customer in the food court were waiting on their crawfish orders. A couple of the venues were actually closed… on a Friday night! Bet they’ll be relieved when Tasty Tails breaks off into an actual restaurant. rumor says :) The staff are amazing. They warn you before you order about the wait time, and they don’t sugarcoat it either. 45 minutes is 45 minutes, take it or leave it. They’re really friendly about it as well. Currently, they charge $ 10.99 per pound of crawfish and $ 11.99 per pound of clams. They also have various combos to choose from. Cajun fries don’t pack a lot of cajun, but are fresh and delicious. There does seem to be a catch-22 type of situation here. The crawfish have a great flavor and decent spice level. They also must be grown by a nuclear power plant because these suckers are HUGE, which takes away from the number of «pounds» that you get. Therefore, not as much food. On the other hand, we also don’t want a pound of tiny, under grown crawfish. So, take that for what it is. I split 2 pounds with my sister and if we didn’t know any better, we would think we only bought 1 pound, because we were still hungry afterward. The clams were definitely the most disappointing part of the experience. They were shriveled and sad, and half the shells we pulled out of the bag were.empty. So empty :( So why didn’t they make our list of to-go crawfish joints? 1. No bibs?! 2. We have found cheaper and bigger clams. 3. We like to dip our seafood in the sauce as well. Tasty Tails’ sauce is basically water. All the flavor is inside the crawfish, I suppose. Matter of preference. 4. The wait was bad, but not horrible due to the fact that it was Friday night. Basically, I’m nitpicking. It’s a great NOLA based restaurant with a passion for serving delicious crawdads. Geaux try it if you’re ever in the area! :)

This was my first time at the Tasty Tails. I came here because of the great Unilocal reviews. For first timers, you’ll need to know that Tasty Tails is located inside a Food Court. You’ll have to walk inside the food court and its going to be to your left hand side as you enter through the doors. Wife had called in a take-out for 1 pound shrimp, 2 pounds craw-fish, 2 corns, 2 potatoes, semi spicy. When I got there, the cashier was friendly and the order was hot and ready to pick up. I’ve had a bunch of Cajun food from various Cajun specialized restaurants around the country and I can say that the craw-fish, shrimp, and sauce from Tasty Tails rate high up there in my opinion. The craw-fish and shrimp are HUGE! The corn and potatoes were spiced to perfection. If you’ve not heard or visited this place and are a Cajun food lover, you should definitely give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Located in a food court, if you were driving by and never been around the area it will definitely be hard for you to find. Been here a couple times, not much of a crawfish eater, but overall the taste is good and the price is fair. This last time, I happened to get 2 lbs of crawfish and 1 lb of shrimp, also got some Cajun fries, calamari fries(this is something different, you should try it). It all tasted pretty fresh, one of the goofy looking owners says they fly it in daily(think his name is Mike). Also got free shots of Jameson from some random dudes in the food court. Overall a good experience.
