* Nail shaping + polish job: Very good. The lady was really meticulous about trimming dead skin from the edges of my nails. She had an interesting but effective technique of painting over the edges and then cleaning polish off the skin with a soft-bristled paintbrush, which resulted in really full coverage and clean lines. I might try this at home. After 4 days of a sandy vacation, the edges of my nails wore off, but there was no major chipping. * Price: $ 12 before tip * Equipment: No dryers so I sat there for a while. * Polish: Mostly OPI and Essie. They had the latest OPI collection(Brazil, spring/summer 2014) too. The Hoofer’s Shield Choice Top Coat used here produced a really nice shine and felt super smooth. * Cleanliness /sanitation: The tools were all soaked in some sterilizing liquid. The buffing block and file were reused. The salon was pretty clean minus some areas of the nail stations that were collecting dust. * Service: There are only 2 nail stations here. When I was here, only one lady was doing nails.(Another was doing hair, and another was hanging out.) Short wait. Everyone here was nice enough.

I was looking forward to getting an updated, easy to manage haircut after letting my hair grow out for 8 months. A customer sitting outside highly recommended this place but I Didn’t ask the price — it was $ 55 for a first time customer(reg price is $ 65-ouch) After sitting for over an hour getting a «trim» while my husband and 1 year old waited, the gentlemen who cut my hair was very nice but I didn’t get a shampoo, barely got a blow dry, no style, and when I left the salon $ 58.00 later, he said it «would look better when I styled it at home»(what???) This was after our hour long discussion wherein I had told him I am a busy mom and need a haircut that’s easy to maintain without styling… Needless to say, I didn’t look any better, nor feel better the way one should after leaving a salon so I will not be returning. Terrible waste of money and time– I felt ripped off and certainly think that a blow dry and style should come with a $ 55 haircut /trim especially when no shampooing was done. Maybe other stylists are better at this salon as some of the good reviews indicate but my experience was so bad, I needed to write a review to let out some steam.

I recently found myself looking for another hair stylist and decided to give Seaside Salon a try since it’s in my neighborhood. My appointment was with David, who is a great guy. He listened to everything I had to say about what I was looking for and he delivered on all aspects with a great hair cut. I’ve found a new place!

I should have written this review a while ago, but I had my color done here and it was pretty bad. I went back and had it re-done, because I was so unhappy. Wouldn’t recommend Seaside for anything more than a basic trim.

The Seaside Salon is a charming neighborhood salon. I highly recommend Christina who I’ve been going to for years. She gives great haircuts and is very attentive to your requests. She also gives the best scalp massages when she shampoos your hair. Plus she’s very nice so it’s a pleasurable experience.

WHOA! I just got a Mani/Pedi for $ 25 ?! Are you kidding me… Hana, the woman that did both my hands and feet(at the SAMETIME… ok maybe not) was really nice and spoke perfect English– a rarity in salons as I’m sure you well know. I always feel like they’re talking about me… Kinda like this:
SOFUNNY… Anyways, I digress. Where was I? Ah yes. Seaside Salon. So, I was a bit skeptical because in the 8 years I lived in the area, I never ventured into this hole-in-the-wall more frequently occupied by the local housewife. This time, after moving boxes into my new place, I decided a serious Mani/Pedi was in order. I’d definitely go back. She didn’t do a PERFECT job on the paint(some places are thicker than others, some places there are lines) but it’s very unnoticeable and I think I’m just being a perfectionist… as usual. In any case, Hana’s the shiz. :) Thanks Seaside

I love this place! It has great service, and the lady that cut my hair knew exactly what she was doing. Her name was Thuy. I came in there hoping for a new look, so when I came out I was totally satisfied. She knew what she was quick — she didn’t cut to short like some places do, and you don’t realize it until after they blow dry your hair. I also got highlights which turned out awesome!!! She gave me advice on what color to go with so that it’ll make my skin tone stand out with a refreshing new look. I would totally recommend this place if you ever need a hair cut– and ask for Thuy!
