It was okay. The server was nice but was also the only server so it made service slow. We also had to ask for things(sometimes multiple times) before it would arrive at our table. Shrimp Diabla Burrito was okay. Not the best I’ve ever had but the shrimp was good. My friend got it too. Sadly, I spilled my water all over her burrito(hey! She said she wanted a wet burrito…) and the server, or possibly manager because he was wearing a white shirt(I think his name was Ben) offered is a new plate to put the soaked burrito on but didn’t offer anything to help her have a dry meal. I expected them to offer a new tortilla or SOMETHING! It was very unfortunate. We ended up tossing the rest of her burrito… and they forgot to bring her coconut drink 2−3x. It took about 10 minutes to get her drink. No Bueno. Beware!!! They charge you for chips and salsa beyond the initial offer. We got charged $ 1 for salsa for our burrito! Wtf!!! They never mentioned it was more, it just shows up on the bill. Smh. It was kind of stuffy inside but the outside seating was nice. However metal grated chairs after you go to the beach can feel funny on the back of your thighs if in shorts or a short dress. Parking in lot is key! I got the last space though so I know it fills up because there weren’t even that many people in the restaurant. I would only come back here again if I had a friend who was dying to eat here. I would say no otherwise. Fun Fact: They have their own snapchat geotag.

I ordered delivery and the customer service was good. The food was good and everyone enjoyed it for an office luncheon.

This is one of my local joints that I can walk to and therefore, by default, go to a fair amount. It’s gotten better over the years, but still isn’t stellar… and on more than one occasion, I’ve been pretty certain that my server was high or drunk or something. The food is decent, but nothing to rave about… even after the recent menu revision. Having said that, it’s probably the only solid, consistently decent Mexican food in the area.

I recently moved to the area and I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find some decent Mexican food in Playa del Rey, Luckily I found Señor G’s! Their food was right on point in flavor of meat, and whether you pick from the traditional flavors or their more progressive flavors, all are delicious. Though I usually like a Carne Asada burrito, Señor G’s has some amazing Adobada(marinated pork) and I would def recommend trying that one out in any dish you decide on getting. So after saying that, I had the carne asada burrito, adobada enchiladas, and the Carlitos Way(Flank steak burrito with added lemon). The meats in the burritos were juicy and well seasoned but i have to rave about the adobada… SOOO much flavor and tenderness! Another added bonus is that they give u some fresh pico de gallo and a chili verde that is actually spicy! The restaurant is no frills, the staff is friendly and the place is kept very clean and neat and also they have a juice/smoothie bar on the opposite side of the kitchen. I would def recommend this place to anyone that likes Mexican food. Parking does kinda suck though as their lot is shared with an apartment complex and is very narrow. You usually have to back out the same way you came in!

The service was very fast and attentive and the food was delicious. I was surprised it wasn’t packed during brunch. I got the chicken quesadilla. The salsa needed more onion but everything else seemed authentic. Will be back for brunch.

This place is AMAZING. Been coming here every weekend for the last year and I’ve never had any complaints. Literally best Mexican food in the area, and it’s always fresh and tasty. Added bonus: you can walk a few doors down to the Tripel after and grab a beer if you’re feeling up to it ;) Always a perfect Sunday with that combo.

My boyfriend and I love this place. It’s walking distance from where we live and I swear we are here every weekend for brunch! Their tacos are huge so you can get away with just ordering 1 taco. I usually order one of their juices to go with it. They’re really fresh(they make them to order) and really reasonably priced. They bring you chips and salsa right away before you even order. It’s a great, affordable brunch meal out.

Literally my only complaint is that other people love this place so it is always busy. Weekend brunch? Forgetaboutit. Burritos are on point, breakfast is delish, the tacos are bomb and the juices are fresh and reasonably priced. The menu has options for everyone, even vegans. That’s rare at a Mexican joint. Respect to Señor G.

Note: Would rate 2.5 stars if Unilocal allowed half stars. I’m often in this area and love Mexican food so I gave this place a try based on the almost 5 star rating on Unilocal.Unfortunately, I found this place over-hyped. I will say the service here was great(which is why I’d give a ½ star if I could). Everyone was very nice and attentive so I did appreciate that, but sadly I have to give the low rating based on the food. This place has to have a good rating based on people who don’t know what authentic Mexican food tastes like. This was very much«Americanized» food with zero flavor. The salsa needed more onion or jalapeño which was underwhelming because I was waiting for that«kick» that should be in good salsa. I ordered a carne asada taco and a cod fish taco with re-fried beans and rice. While my carne asada taco was good, it wasn’t memorable at all. The fish taco was also good, but also not memorable. What turned me off were the beans and rice because they had 0 salt and flavor. It tasted like nothing in my mouth. I mean, how hard is it to make good Spanish rice and re-fried beans? As a Latina and Cali native, I know good Mexican when I taste it and this just was not it. Mexican food(and any good food for that matter) is all about good flavors. Everything I ordered here was far from that and rather mundane. Sucks, because I liked the convenience location and nice people working there, but I don’t have any reason to go back.

Seriously delicious Mexican food. I ordered the chile verde burrito to-go, which comes with chips and salsa. Everything tasted very fresh. My burrito was flavorful, and not greasy like you might get at a lot of other places. They are light on the cheese which I appreciate. I also like how they offer refried or black beans. The pico de gallo was clearly made that day and the chips were also fresh. I can’t wait to come back to try more of their items!

By far my favorite lunch spot. I would eat here every week if I could! The great thing about this place is they consistently deliver quality food at a competitive price. Everything that I have tried on the menu has been delicious. From the kicken’ chicken tacos to the ceviche, you can’t go wrong! Their food really satisfies and hits the spot when you’re craving Mexican. This is also a great spot to get fresh juices and smoothies! The Big Ben is my favorite juice. I love to get it with spicy ginger. They also have juice shots available if that’s more your speed.

Just killing time before my flight back to Portland and I stumbled onto señor g’s! Great little place. I sat outside, other tables had friendly locals to chat with! I had three tacos, beans and rice. Everything was fresh and perfect. Great service, great food and great vibe. Loved it

Casual and cozy, nice little local place. Went for breakfast, and I had the chilaquiles and hubby had their taco plate(carne asada). Service was friendly and efficient. We were served complimentary chips and salsa, and I liked the vibe of the restaurant. A place you can roll out of bed and go in sweats. Food-wise, I liked my chilaquiles, but hubby’s tacos were flavorless and dry. Portions were huge, but it just didn’t make up for lackluster tacos. We had to order a small guacamole and ask for their hot sauce to add some flavor to it. Overall, I like the place, but I think it’s a hit or miss on the menu items. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back, but if you live in the area, I think it’s a great option if you’re craving Mexican. They serve smoothies too!

Well run, fresh, clean, cozy, courteous, sunny little place to get some good eats. Inexpensive, happy to accommodate a little substitution to their menu, quick… this is a boon to the neighborhood. I’d much rather patronize a place like this as opposed to some soulless franchise. Will definitely return!

Just had the cod and tilapia fish tacos. I prefer the cod over the tilapia but both were delicious. The tortillas were a yummy yellow corn and not fried or dipped in grease. The cabbage was fresh and crispy. Overall they were very healthy and flavorful. I also tried a fresh watermelon juice which was also very tasty. The service was great and everyone was polite. The restaurant itself was very clean. I will definitely come back.

Service was super fast and the food was awesome. Like others have said, the food is delicious without being greasy. I had the taquito plate with a smoothing and the chips and salsa. The taquitos were a little dry, but the salsa made up for it. The salsa isn’t spicy at all but they provide a bottle of their hot sauce which lacks flavor but really adds some heat. The smoothie was also great. Just what you need to wash down a great meal. The place itself has sidewalk seating under an overhang. The interior is minimal but very clean. Its in a great location and easily walkable from the beach and cool place to drop by after getting back from LAX. They have their own parking lot too so you don’t have to scour the area. I would recommend this for any quick lunch meal. My only issue is that it was a bit more expensive than you would expect.

The guys here are so nice and welcoming. This was one of the first places I hit up when I arrived for Labor Day weekend because I wanted to know just how well the LA scene did up their Mexican food. Totally beasted on their shrimp diabla tacos. I can still taste the spicy tomatillo sauce with the huge shrimps on a bed of their yellow rice. Then I got their Machaca eggs burrito for a quick brekkie one early morning. It was $ 10 for the size of my head. Alright, LA. New York’s got nothing on you when it comes to tacos and sunsets. We still do it better in everything else though.

Nice location with nice sidewalk to enjoy your meal. Didn’t try the smoothie but I did order a fish taco which was on the dry side. I deconstructed it and confirmed that the fish was over cooked. Slaw was good and fresh but a bit too much. The carne asada burrito was decent. Adding the hot sauce, pico de gallo and sour cream really made it pop. Restaurant décor is simple and clean. Restroom is unisex and also tidy. The staff was the star here. They really enjoy engaging customers and ensuring you’re taken care of. That’s reason enough to come back.
