We’re new to the area. Hoping to find a solid steak place. Black Angus does not meet the criteria. Waite staff is competent. I ordered surf and turf. The shrimps were anorexic. The garlic seasoning was melted butter. The rib eye was ordered medium. It arrived well done, tough and sans flavor. The kids had grilled cheese and chicken strips. The cheese was not melted through. The chicken strips were decent. Pros: They enjoyed the ice cream. The tables are large and seats are spacious.

I made a reservation for my family since it was a Friday evening. It was for Father and son birthday. When I arrived, my party didn’t have to wait long, so I assumed the service would be great! Ummmm Nope!!! The old waiter came around to take our drink order, but we were not ready and he didn’t seem to have patience. He quickly walked away. When he came back, we asked him about the lobster and shrimp deal for $ 18.99, and he said it’s over! We showed him the print out, and he went to ask someone. When he came back, he said we are out of small lobster tails. Then he was rushing us, saying I’ll be back. He was older but quick to run from our table. We asked about the lobster that was on the menu, and that was available. He said they only have big lobster tails. He suggested«prime-rib» with the lobster tail. Okay sounds good, so that’s what we ordered. After he took our order, he came back more friendly. He then tells us we are out of prime rib! Okay well we are hungry so we smile and just order rib eye. I’m not sure about the waiter personality or maybe he was just having a stressful day. The food overall was okay! We also ordered two drinks(they were not good) the wagon wheel sampler, buffalo chicken wings, and the special for two(never received the desert for the deal, and didn’t bother to ask for it since they gave the birthday guys a birthday cookie). The chicken strips were not hot, but the fried zucchini was hot and good. I had rib eye steak cooked medium(nothing to brag about) so I didn’t take a pic! Although this was not the best experience, I didn’t want to be an a$$, so we left the waiter a decent tip(more than 15%) hoping he treated his other parties a little better!

We went there on a Sunday with reservations and were seated prompty. From there it went downhill. Made several requests for bread as the waitperson kept«forgetting» to bring it. We were told the house wine was BV and ordered a bottle. When it arrived it was an off brand(Century Cellars), and we refused it. The wine«discussion» escalated to the manager who pointed the fine print on the back of the label that indicated it was made by BV. We were expecting the BV brand. Made by is not the same as the BV brand. Then the food arrived — my shrimp dish was so cold the dipping butter had congealed, my friends prime rib was also cold. Both went back to the kitchen. So after a forgetful waitress a misrepresented wine, a manager who argued and cold food we left very disappointed. We had not been there in 20 years and will never go back. There are too many better chain steakhouses.

I arrived with my friend on New Year’s Day night, at about 8:00. It was busy but quiet. I immediately felt at ease in the surroundings, with nods to an Old West theme and pleasant atmosphere. We had the Campfire Feast, which includes a shared appetizer, an entrée for each, and a dessert to share. At $ 59, it’s certainly not cheap, and since I’m on a budget this is clearly one of the places that has to be a special occasion for me to go. For the appetizer we had the Crispy Fried Garlic-Pepper Zucchini, my friend’s choice. It was actually quite good, with an excellent breading. For the entrée I had the New York Steak and«sidekicks» of Western Rice and Fresh Broccoli.(There were many delicious-sounding sidekicks). The broccoli was perfectly cooked and the rice very good. The steak was savory on the first bite, but I asked for some steak sauce. I’m not a big fan of A-1 and intended to add just a tad, but instead they brought their very own steak sauce, and it was fabulous. Way better than A-1, so I was more liberal with its usage, though still respected the steak on its own merit. For dessert, we enjoyed the Sky High Mud Pie. It had mocha almond ice cream, a cookie crust, fudge, and it was wonderful. On top of all this, the service was exemplary. Our waiter was very friendly and prompt with refills and the steak sauce. I never felt rushed and he was sincere in wanting us to enjoy our meal. I spoke to the manager afterwards to give him my compliments and he was very kind as well. I was surprised. I trust Unilocal and was a skeptical going in. But now I’d love to come back. It’s worth the price, and if I could I’d go more often. But as it is I will be happy to return the next time the occasion is right.

On a recent visit on a Tuesday night, we had great hope. We usually go to the one in Brentwood because it is closer, but went to this one to meet family, and had a reservation. The one in Brentwood would have been worth the drive. Their service is always good. At the P.H. location, the food was good as usual. Unfortunately the service was very disappointing. The ESL waitress couldn’t make a good recommendation, was scarce, and did nothing at or above average. Didn’t even check to see how we were doing, or check on drinks etc. And it was a Tuesday, not at all crowded(no wonder why). The worst service at a Black Angus. We’ll avoid this one and go to our fave in Brentwood.

I went in on Friday the 18th and I had the worst experience. It started when I was early for dinner with some friends so I waited in the lounge area to wait and the host staff was awful these girls were using profanities left and right and on there phones taking«selfies» not only did these girls act a mess they looked completely unprofessional in there tight pants, messy hair, untucked shirts it was just all around sloppy. then when I went to use the restroom I was appalled the only toilet paper to use was on the floor! and on top of it there was staff messing around made me very uncomfortable. dinner was alright our server was okay but overall I feel that this establishment is very chaotic.

Happy hour. It’s the only reason I go. Nachos, fried zucchini, chicken strips, etc. Lots of fried things and cold drinks. Good prices make it appealing. TV screens and fun regulars make game day a great experience. Coupons are always available in the weekly circulars. I’m not a big meat fan so I don’t eat steak meals here but my manly friends LOVE it, they’re all satisfied with their meals and go back often. The atmosphere is dark steak house. Dim lighting and cowboy theme décor. A few fish and chicken items on the dinner menu. All are a good substitute for the meat heavy menu.

Last night i was craving a steak so me and the wife decided to check out black Angus.(never been.) It has a very western feel as you walk in the door and a full bar area with TV screens on the walls. The host guided us to a table in the back where my wife and i were greeted by a very friendly waitress.(i think she said her name was Sarah or Samantha?) we had our 1 year old nephew with us who was crying and she was so sweet about it and brought us a side of fries before our food came out so that he could eat right away. our drinks, dinner and dessert came in a timely fashion and she kept checking up on us to see if we needed anything. great personality. And the food was awesome! I ordered the campfire deal. an appetizer, two dinners and a desert. my bill was roughly $ 70 with tip. not bad for amazing service and tasty food. wonder why it took so long to discover this place! i don’t eat out much, but i will come back again next time i’m craving a steak.

My sister wanted to celebrate her birthday at Black Angus in Pleasant Hill. I made dinner reservations on Open Table. Under special requests, I made note that this was a birthday dinner. At other tables, you could hear the birthday song. There was no singing for my sister. Guess no one reads Open Table. My sister loves the chocolate torte and was looking forward to this. There was no chocolate torte that evening. So disappointed! Told the hostess but what could she do at that point. My advice– go celebrate your birthday somewhere else.

My girlfriend was craving steak so we decided to come here since it’s so close to home. Bad mistake. I’m not sure why this place has steakhouse in their name. I was very disappointed with my experience. We ordered the sampler for our appetizer which was mediocre. We both ordered the filet mignon with a side of mashed potatoes and they were both mediocre at best. Sadly, the best thing on the menu was the beer. The service was also horrible. Our server maybe came around two or three times and I had to basically flag him down to get our tab. Definitely won’t be coming back here!

I came back here only to try and see if the nostalgia I had about this place would ring true. It did not. I feel like everyone who was dining in here tonight was also reliving old memories or was too old to not know better. This place is a poor excuse for a steak house. Everything we ordered from the appetizer to dessert was mediocre at best. I actually was better off going through drive thru somewhere. The appetizer was HORRIBLE. And to make things worse there were gnats that mysteriously appeared, disappeared and reappeared? I hope I don’t get sick from this. Also — the service was awful. I practically needed to make sure to stay awake to get our tab since we dined later than your usual«dinner» shift. The steak was mediocre, the appetizer sampler was mediocre and the desert was mediocre. I don’t recommend this place. The only reason this place generates foot traffic is because of the location and the fact it’s a well known chain restaurant. I will never come back here — it’s too embarrassing. In fact they should offer at least 50% off of your meal if you inform the public that you are here by checking in.

Came for a birthday dinner with a large party and had a Fantastic experience once seated. If and when you decide to enjoy a wonderful steak, the overall experience is taken to another level should you have the good fortune to sit at one of Guillermo AKA Will’s tables! Hands down he has been the best experience as a server that I’ve had in a long long time!!! Thank you Will for your wonderful attitude and spontaneous sense of humor… Won’t hold it against you living in Oaktown and being a Niner fan… Regardless, keep up what ever it is that you do to bring smiles to everyone one at your tables!!! Oh yeah and the steaks were good too!!!

This by far has been the worst service I had here. We eat here at least once a month. I can understand tonight is Monday night football but it was not even that busy in the bar area. Ashley our waitress greeted us and took our drink order. Then after she must of been side tracked by a regular gal that comes in and sells makeup to the ladies and we were forgotten! We sat there for a while untill I got a hold of another waitress who took our order. Ashley continued to talk to that gal untill another customer noticed we were waiting and got her attention. Mind you she never apologized for all the time she spent with her Mary Kay buddy! We explained the incident to the manager Nicole on duty and said she would take the necessary disciplinary action to her employee. I’m sorry but I tip based on service I received and she didn’t earn my hard earned money!

Ordered the«Dinner for Two». As our appetizer we ordered the steak nachos. They were really really good and a huge portion. Our ceasar salads were average. We chose 12 oz ribeyes and sides. Our ribeyes were cooked perfectly, not so flavorful but hey. My Augratin potatoes were BOMB! Service wasn’t good at all and that’s why I chose 3 stars. Food A+ Service C

Easily the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had at a steakhouse. Sat at the bar and wasn’t greeted while the bartender went out of her way to ignore me to continue making server drink tickets(to her credit, she did warm up once she realized I wasn’t a jerk). Ordered the NY, and it came out with the wrong sides. To the kitchen’s credit, they did cook it to temp. What they couldn’t do is force ownership to buy a better cut of meat. This was the toughest NY I’ve ever had. Very chewy and lots of sinew running throughout. Could have been better seasoned. Ate less than half of it, and no one bothered to ask if there was anything wrong. My potato au gratin side dish was disgusting. Pretty sure it’s leftover baked potatoes mixed with WAY too much creamy cheese sauce and topped with not-good bread crumbs. Really bad. Poor initial service, bad food, service staff arguing over who took who’s desserts, bartender chastising service staff for taking water pitchers, everyone running around like no one had any idea what was going on. Tempting to go back to get the cute manager’s phone number, but won’t be back here to spend money.

This place is soooooo slow we’ve been here about an hour and a half the food took about 45 minutes. It’s a Monday night and not busy either. The service was alright can’t blame the waiter, for the how slow the food was cooking but when it came to the table it looked really good but the mashed potatoes tasted like it had been sitting around for a while. The ribeye was okay. If I were to come back I wouldn’t order the same thing because I’ve come here before and was really good, just not this time– sorry

The Black angus happy hour is from 3 – 7. We have been frequenting lately due to this. Inexpensive beer and a longer list of «bar foods’ to choose from then most. Sunday and Tuesdays are HH all day in the bar area. For a quick break after wok it suits us just fine.

Classic big-name steakhouse. I didn’t have high expectations of this place, though I feel that I was happily pleased with my experience. I came in on a Sunday night during the 3-day Labor Day weekend. It also seemed that the only reason people came to this place was to celebrate birthdays or the long weekend as well. My family had used their Dinner For Two deal, which included one appetizer to share, two entrees(with two sides) and a dessert to share for $ 41. A lot of food for a fair amount of money. We ordered the Teriyaki Steak Skewers/Wraps. It was light and satisfying – the steak, mushroom and grilled onion on the skewer tasted well alone, but the mango salsa seemed kind of off with the veggie wrap. You can always opt for the sampler platter which seems to be the most for your money. With the Grilled Salmon, I ordered side salad and side wild rice. The lemon-herbed salmon was huge and paired well with the rice. For dessert, we split the White Chocolate Banana Pudding topped with vanilla ice cream which was a great portion size and as guilty and indulgent as you could imagine. Overall, this place is somewhere to indulge and eat a whole lot, but the quality isn’t the finest or most appealing. But, it does give you the indulgent guilty pleasures and mouthfuls of food.
