Their beers are NOT fresh. As a matter of fact, they sell the«red codes» from L. Knife. Red codes are old, expired beer or near expiration. The owners both worked for L. Knife and the owner, Gerry, bank rolled them. Terrible service and the food is so sloppy.

I definitely recommend the New World Tavern if you want a casual atmosphere, interesting food selections, and want a better beer menu than the average place. The food menu is well varied, some Asian influenced flavors, burgers, pasta, tapas style selections. A group can do the shared small-plate thing if they want but you’re not limited to that. They seem to use duck quite a lot(and well), for instance the duck poutine is a hearty take on the already artery-clogging dish we know and love. The burger was really good as well. Both times service has been very good. The only negative is the atmosphere is pretty underwhelming. I would rate my experiences here higher than at Nosh up the street, which seems to get more attention for some reason. Btw, nice draft and bottled bee list.

The food menu is very diverse. something for everyone. There was a large group of us, so we shared a number of things. Everything we had was perfectly prepared and fresh. The roasted brussel sprouts and cauliflower were great! They were perfectly seasoned and roasted with the right amount of carmelization. The tuna sashimi and oysters could not have been fresher and we’re amazing! The cheese and meat plate… flatbreads…everything was just right! Then there is the beer menu…32 beers on tap and even more than that in bottles. Our server was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions. I can’t wait to go back!

Made a reservation on a Saturday, seated promptly upon arrival. Server was very friendly very attentive and knew the menu inside out and out. Cocktails were excellent the Gin Jam was awesome. Beers plentiful and cold. Small plates were anything but small and delicious. Main courses were very good and also plentiful. Noise level is a bit loud but doable. I’ll definitely return and sample the oysters and more small plates especially the roasted brussel sprouts really good balance of sweet and spicy.

Have been here more than a few times and have always had fun. A great place for drink and entertainment. The beer selection is incredible. Food is pub food with a gourmet twist, it’s good. The only knock I have on the place is the service tends to be slow. More than a few occasions we waited 15 minutes for drink refills. One time I was there it wasn’t even busy yet. Service used to be better but I have seen a decline. I’ve heard the same complaint from friends. Give it a chance though.

Smitty/Sarah, the manager offered great food and beer suggestions. Hard to believe i have lived in P, ymouth for 40 years and this was our second visit. The food was healthy, and delicious. I am so happy that I stopped in after a good movie with my date. He was very happy that I liked his suggestion… I am a tough critic of dining out!

The beer selection here is good. The food and customer service lack from our experience. Emailed owner who was less than sympathetic in his short response to my detailed email. Would not go back. Plenty of better restaurants within feet of this dump.

Came in here on a bitter cold Saturday afternoon when the temperature outside was below zero and the wind chill made it even more unbearable. The New World Tavern was a cozy haven with excellent food, a substantial beer list, and cheerful service. We sat at the bar and started with some local oysters, and Ted, who was running the raw bar, answered all the questions we had about the nuances and origins of his offerings.(Plymouth oysters are my new favorite, by the way — perfectly briny and not too oceany). We then enjoyed the soup on special — a smooth and delicious celery and parsnip purée. Next came the sweet and spicy brussels sprouts, and lastly, the duck confit and crispy pork steam buns, which were luscious on the inside and pillowy on the outside. I would definitely go out of my way(i.e., make the trip down from Boston) to come back here some time.

Decided to give this place a go with a friend early on a Saturday night. The place was busy but not overly crowded. We sat at the bar and were quickly greeted by the bartender. They have an impressive beer menu but naturally I drank wine. My friend indulged in a few different beers both of which she enjoyed. We split a Build your on cheese board. Man o man the cheeses we chose delicious and that is impressive considering the names did not give us much to go on. We also ordered the soba noodles and the Shishito Peppers. I have to say the Shishito Peppers, were fantastic. I fully plan on ordering my own dish next time. The space itself is very welcoming with a few different styles of seating available. The staff seemed pretty nice no complaints. Overall good experience, price point was spot on and well, I already have it on the calendar to go back.

Stopped in here a few months ago(mid Nov) for breakfast. wish we hadn’t — service was so slow, and we continually had to ask for updates and refills. We waited more than 45 minutes for our meal and when we asked our waitress about it, she commented that they used to be «across the street» and only served 25 they hadn’t yet adjusted to the size.(I don’t know how long they have been serving breakfast). This at least explained the lack of food and service however, left us dissatisfied and offered nothing for our time.

Went for breakfast. Good quality, plentiful. Home made hash was good, but salty. Good prices for a wide variety of choices. Coffee was hot and fresh; cup was kept topped off. On the other hand. Waitress spent her time chatting up guys at the bar, sure they’re regulars but I won’t be one if you don’t attend to me also. For a quiet weekday morning, it took about 10 minutes for my order to come. When it did it was fresh off the grill, but, English muffin had no butter. No butter was on the table and waitress did not offer to bring any. Could not get the waitress’ attention; she was busy chatting at the bar. By the time I did, half my meal was eaten and the muffin cold. Right after she brought the butter, she brought the bill; «no rush, pay when you are ready.» Will I come back, yes, it’s the best breakfast I’ve had in Plymouth. But, I check how much time I have first. …

FRIES. WAFFLEFRIES. YUM. YUM. In Plymouth? GOHERE. Like French Fries? Get some. I highly suggest the Falafel Burger. I’m still salivating over this. I’m still dreaming about this. It was so good. It wasn’t deep fried. It wasn’t dry. It was seasoned perfectly, with an assortment delicious toppings. We also had chicken lettuce wraps/cups. GOOD. The beer selection was extensive too. Prices are fair. We were here on a really busy day. It was the weekend before Thanksgiving so they were slammed and not adequately staffed for the day. Service was really slow and the poor server was really overwhelmed. She did a fine job though. I’m sure on a normal day you’d be fine.

Been here twice and both times, the service has been quite slow(one time the waitress had a trainee and the second they were in the middle of a shift change) but both times they did apologize for the wait. However, the servers are always very friendly and helpful. The first time, my husband and I both got burgers and fries. The burgers were great(the bun could be better) and the waffle fries are fantastic. The second time, my dad & husband both got the falafel burger(one with a side salad and one with the fries); my mom & I split the Caesar salad and New World flatbread(not as thin as we thought, but not too thick); and we got the kids’ chicken fingers and fries for our toddler. I do wish they had a choice of veggie or fruit in addition to the fries for the kids’ meal. But overall, we were all really happy with our food. The portions are huge and everything tastes great. I don’t understand how they can have a ton of highchairs, but no changing table…

More than 40 beers on tap and the bartender can tell you about every one of them along with the long list of bottled beers. Martinis are large and perfectly prepared as well. We had only apps, but the nachos were a great compliment to the drinks. Good peeps and friendly atmosphere

Went and had the chicken tikka masala frites — good flavor but very salty. The pumpkin pie martini was deliciously perfect Our waiter(Sean) was awesome — super friendly and efficient — exactly what you want in an employee both as a customer and as an employer. The layout of the place needs some work. There is a major bottleneck where the dining room ends and it’s just very awkward overall to have the dining tables so close to the bar. Nobody wants to spent most of their time being in the way of one person or another. I’m thinking they really need to have a bar menu out back. We would have preferred to eat back there but were told that we couldn’t.

This was my first time here. .what a gem! They have an amazing beer selection and an eclectic menu. The Eastham oysters were plump and delicious with 2 unusual sauces. They have a small plate menu as well as larger portions. The pan seared scollops topped with crispy carrot were cooked to perfection. We sat at the bar and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back…

Headed down to Plymouth yesterday evening sans children to meet up with my parents for dinner at The New World Tavern. This place is a gem of a restaurant and after now having visited once we will be sure to be back soon. For an appetizer we had Island Creek Oysters from Duxbury. It can’t get any more fresh than oysters pulled ashore hours before serving. A spicy, citrus oil complemented the oysters well. NWT is known for having a remarkable craft beer selection both in the bottle and on draught and I went with the Bad Martha Beer Vineyard Summer and Beth Ann had the Sunfish from Sea Dog Brewing. Both were a great light, summery offering perfect to cool off the heat of the day. For dinner, I opted for the NWT Burger(well done) which came with lettuce, tomato, gouda cheese, bacon and a fried egg on top of a fresh and soft roll. The burger was cooked perfectly and the toppings were amazing. The Mrs. had the banh mi sandwich that featured shaved pork on a crusty roll with the traditional Asian slaw atop the sandwich. All sandwiches are served with addicting hand cut waffle fries that were dynamite. My parents had a grilled chicken sandwich that was raved about and a margarita flat bread I stole a piece of that was something I probably will order next time thanks to the fresh tomatoes and mozzarella on top of the wood grilled flat bread. NWT is a great craft beer bar that focuses not just on great beer but on complementing the beer with really good food. If you haven’t been there yet, please check it out!

This is my favorite place in town to get a drink when I am home. The beer list is pretty extensive and the staff make good recommendations. Even if you ‘aren’t a beer person’ you are sure to find a bottle that you like. It is always fun to come when there is live music. I’ve never had a problem finding a seat at the bar or getting a table. Will be sure to update once I try the food!

Impressive craft beer selection and innovative menu. We’ve only eaten here once and while everything we ordered sounded great, it fell a bit short. My other issue is that the service has left much to be desires both times we’ve been. Once it was a Saturday afternoon during the World Cup, it wasn’t terribly busy but hush enough to warrant more than the one server for the whole place. Our food arrived before our beers and I had to flag someone down to take both orders. This past time we sat at the bar and it still felt like it took ages and many failed attempts at gaining the eye contact of the bartenders to order a brew. Both times we’ve gone we’ve seen the bartender/s chatting for awhile and have had a significant delay in getting our beers. We will likely return but I’ll skip the food and hope to snag a seat at the bar so I have a better chance at getting my beer in a reasonable amount of time.
