Great food. Portions are quite large. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat the chips, since they are fried in the same oil as shrimp and I have a shellfish allergy. Other than that, we were pleasantly surprised. We would eat here again.

Cute place in a good area. Excellent food, large portions, great service, table side guacamole, and reasonable prices. Left full and happy. I definitely recommend eating here.

Ginormous margaritas are the best feature. They serve solid Tex-Mex fare. Service is excellent. Ambiance is nice. Would both return and recommend.

Cute little place and the food was surprisingly authentic. We all had tacos, which were really good. Their salsa was not spicy so I asked if they had anything a little spicier. Wallah! The spice God smiled upon me. Glad I found this place!

We came here because we had a groupon and we were pretty disappointed. The steak in the burrito tasted so charred it was not good and the service was slow and inattentive. We probably won’t go back.

Ended up here after a bad experience waiting for food for over an hour at another restaurant. We arrived 45 min before close. Needless to say our waiter greeted us in a friendly and professional manner. Décor was nice, restaurant was well lit and clean. Food was very good. Staff did not rush us or any of the other guests all though it was closing time. Kudos to them for doing everything right!

We went on cinco de mayo and so we expected it to be packed. We got lucky and got the last booth. Staff was prompt and very friendly. Food was good also.

Very poor service. Waitress was so rude!!! She got upset with me because I ordered water! I am an Über driver so of course I’m not ordering margaritas. From that moment on she was nowhere to be found. She also raised her voice when I asked for chile con queso on my burrito. She charged me $ 2.00 extra. At least the food is good! Too bad the cooks aren’t waiting tables!

This is the best tex mex in the Pompano/Deerfield area. The food is flavorful, generous and served promptly. Order the nachos with ground beef. Modelo on draft comes in a chilled beer mug. Burritos are huge!

Very good but heavy meal with the family after a fun snorkeling trip. Seeing so many fish inn the ocean got me in the mood for fish tacos. Very tasty and a huge plate. A little salty seasoning obj the fish but very fresh tasting. Supposedly the fish is bought from local fisherman. All six plates looked good. My son ate his whole mini burrito with shredded beef. Mario was our server and was very friendly. He made some good recommendations for us. He even gave us tourists directions to some places we were looking for. I’m not driving to the next stop.

The Mexican food experience in South Florida hasn’t been the greatest — you know the drill — tin flavored beans, stale/tasteless rice, pureed«salsa», 2 pounds of rice stuffed into«burritos», and 3 day old beef mix. But this place is definitely a step above though. Been here a few times and each time the food is great — the fish tacos(hand breaded and fried in house) and the seafood chimichanga(scallops, shrimp) are favorites. Even the house salsa and chips were addicting. The staff has been great each time as well. Never had to ask to fill waters, re-order drinks, and refill chips and salsa. Check it out, its worth it.

Very poor service. Food wasn’t amazing. Restaurant seemed to be out of many things. Also found a chicken bone in my quesadilla. The only good thing was the salsa– but it took forever to get that refilled.

Wanting to try a place we hadn’t been before, my dad and I decided to visit Dos Amigos since it had such good reviews. I wish I’d had a better experience here like my fellow Unilocalers did, but personally this was such a letdown. It started off promising enough. We decided to start with the guacamole made table-side. The young lady making it spoke almost no English, so we would point to the ingredients we wanted more of, and made it work. Even after doing so, we dressed up the guacamole more with added salt and more lime… after that, it was quite good. In fact, my dad has been rather obsessed with guac every since this meal. For my meal, I ordered two tacos: the shredded beef in a soft corn tortilla, and the ground beef in the crunchy shell. This meal comes with rice and refried beans, and I specifically asked for them to not give me beans since I don’t eat them and I didn’t want it getting on my tacos. I can’t recall what my dad chose for his meal, but I do know we also ordered the shredded beef enchiladas for my mom to-go. I received my tacos, and they managed to get the order almost completely wrong. The ground beef was in the soft shell, the shredded beef was in the hard shell(the opposite of what I had asked for), and they were both right up against the beans I told them I didn’t want. Whatever, I decided not to argue and just scraped off the beans from my tacos. I started eating the shredded beef one, only to see there was white meat throughout it. What? I didn’t order chicken or pork. I called the waitress over and pointed it out, and she insisted it was beef. I promise you it wasn’t. I didn’t know WHAT meat this was, but my dad and I both agreed with was definitely not beef. It looked more like pork than chicken to me, and I don’t eat pork. I let it be, and abandoned that taco since I don’t care for mystery meat. I just ate the ground beef taco(which, admittedly, was good… no better than other places, but good nonetheless). Thankfully the guacamole had done a decent job of filling me, so I didn’t leave hungry at least. We brought my mom’s beef enchilada home and she dug in. About ¼ of the way through, she said, «It’s just okay… but why did you guys order me chicken? You know I like shredded beef.» Her supposed beef was also white. I had hoped mine was an anomaly, but obviously not. I told her my experience at the restaurant, and she decided she was no longer hungry after that. Sorry, I wish I had enjoyed this more, but I just don’t think I’ll be returning. There’s too many other Mexican restaurants around for me to bother.

Just had dinner here. I’ve passed it numerous times as its around the corner from where I live and I saw the amazing reviews and decided to stop in. I knew from the quality of the salsa served we were in for a good meal and the ratings were valid. Terrific salsa which the very friendly staff kept refilling. Started with margaritas. A regular one for him and a jalapeño one for me. Both perfectly on point. Mine had just the right amount of heat for it to be enjoyable and not to hit. He ordered the carne asada which was tender and flavorful and I had a combination dinner with an enchilada and an avocado tostada and refried beans. Everything was very light and fresh. Full of flavor and we left satisfied but not with that overly full feeling you can often have once you’ve had a big Mexican or Italian dinner. Great neighborhood joint with friendly service and quality food. Will definitely be back.

La Comida realmente deliciosa, la atencion directamente por el dueno es algo sencillamente espectacular y el guacamole hecho en la mesa es algo de locos… No puedes parar de comer. Los precios para todo esto me parecieron muy buenos…

Anyone who knows me knows I love some Mexican food. I’ll start by saying that this place is AUTHENTIC! You can really tell that TLC goes into these dishes because of the flavor, freshness, and presentation of each plate. We loved it. One thing I really appreciated is that the owner, Miguel, actually came out from the kitchen to talk to customers and make sure they enjoyed their meal. As a customer this is important because it really shows how much he cares about everyone’s experience. We arrived at around 7pm on a Saturday and were greeted immediately. Sat down right away and then came the chips and salsa. Both of which were fantastic… For an appetizer we started off with some queso. This stuff was on point! It came out in a skillet that was bubbling with deliciousness. We added a little hot sauce to increase the heat. I could literally eat it with a spoon. It was incredible. We saw some pictures from other Unilocalers for some main course ideas so we both decided on the burrito and enchilada combo. You have the option of shredded beef, ground beef or chicken. I opted for the shredded beef enchilada and the ground beef burrito. The girlfriend went with a shredded chicken enchilada and ground beef burrito. It’s also served with fried beans and rice. Everything came out covered in cheese but the rice which had me really excited. :) Everything tasted as good as it looked, wonderful. For dessert we went with the fried ice cream and it too was also delicious! I’ll definitely be back to try more of what’s on the menu soon.

They do not have a liquor license so margaritas are made with wine. This is a cute restaurant with a friendly staff. We were a large table of 10 people on a Tuesday night. They ran out of salsa and had to make more at 7pm. I think they should have planned ahead more for us since we did call ahead. At least we knew the salsa was fresh. It is a watery salsa with good flavor, but I wish it were a little thicker. It had a good spice level to it. I ordered the white queso to start $ 4.99. It comes sizzling in a cast iron skillet. It was okay and I wouldn’t order it again. I like more jalapeño flavor in my white queso. This was basically plain white American melted cheese. The shredded beef enchilada was great. I like the sweet red sauce they put on top. The refried beans are full of flavor and topped with cheddar cheese. This place is definitely American style Mexican food. The taco shells are from a box and not freshly fried. The tortilla chips are from a bag and not freshly fried flour tortillas. Prices are reasonable and the menu is similar to most Mexican restaurants in town. There is plenty of parking in the attached parking lot. There is no outdoor seating. I would not go out of my way to come here, but if in the area I would return.
