Zen Root Kava

This is my new favorite spot to hang out, relax and have some fun. The atmosphere is friendly, comfortable and chill. This kava bar has a certain feel of sophistication. The décor is very «zen» like and classy. You can always count on friendly customers and kava tenders for interesting conversation. It’s easy to feel at home and make new friends at this place. If you have never tried kava this is the perfect place to test it out. They have many different flavors and mixes so that its easy to find your favorite one. I personally like the Banana Crème flavored kava. Zen Root Kava Bar also offers free wifi so you can bring your computer or ipad and be productive outside of the office or house. I also like that they offer special events once in a while like yoga and meditation. This place has it all! Don’t miss it.

love it here. It has such a cool vibe and the barista made me a super yummy cold kava drink. I’ve never had Kava before but I loved how relaxed and chill it made me and how relaxed the vibe is there. Very cool atmosphere and people.

Appropriately named «Zen» root kava, you automatically feel relaxed and welcome the moment you walk in. The friendly kavatender, Deb, helped me figure out which flavor to try with my Kava. I went with the almond flavor! Definitely recommend this place! Parking was easy too.

I cannot say enough how much I enjoy coming to Zen Root Kava Bar. If you’ve been to a kava bar before, you know that it’s more about the experience than the actual kava, however with that said, the kava here is pretty good. You can tell it’s the real deal and it’s as smooth as kava can get. If you don’t know what kava is, here it is in a nut shell. There is a lot of misinformation about kava; it’s mind/​mood altering, it’s addictive, it tastes like mud, it’s bad for your liver, it’s nothing but hippies that hang out in those places. Here are the facts: Kava Kava is a root found in the South Pacific Islands (think Fiji and Tahiti) which is traditionally prepared as a tea. Kava Kava has been used by the native people as medicine and in ceremonies, social, political and, religious and cultural events for centuries. Kava has a calming effect that CAN reduce anxiety and stress without affecting mental sharpness. You should avoid alcohol and benzodiazepines and opiates when using Kava as the Kava may magnify the effects of these drugs, but alone Kava does not affect motor skills or cognitive behavior; it is non-​narcotic and non-​habit forming.
Back to ZEN. This place is awesome. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a friendly «Kava Tender» who will gladly explain kava and all of their other offerings. The décor is straight out of HGTV and the quality in craftsmanship shows. An L-​Shaped bar, tables and a «cozy corner» with a couch and tables gives you a variety of seating options. Candles abound giving a nicely dim glow, yet enough light that you don’t strain your eyes. They have a variety of beverages, snacks and teas. Zen Root is an alcohol free establishment. If you are looking for a place where you can relax, meet interesting people, and have fun… Zen Root is the place to be! Credit Cards accepted, handicap bathroom accessible, fun to be had by all! If you go, tell them Tricky Rick sent you! (I don’t get anything, but they’ll be wondering who Tricky Rick is!)

Zen Root Kava is the NEW kava bar to visit. It’s everything you’ll look for in a kava bar. From the lighting to the seating to the drinks, to the people this place will be a great success. I honestly feel that way about Zen Root. I recommend to anyone that wants a good, chill, distressing place. Make this your need to be kava bar.

Great place to experience kava. Good service, décor is modern yet cozy. Great conversations are always had in here.
