Our group of 6 went here to eat lunch after visiting the Port Austin Farmer’s Market. This was the biggest mistake of the day. We found a table right away and the waitress came over for our drink orders right away and when she brought them we put in our food order. Things were looking good. Unfortunately it was all downhill from there. The drinks she brought? That was the last Ike we saw her for a little over an hour. No refills, no food, nothing. When we did flag her down(she never stopped to ask about us) she said the pizza we ordered took about ½ hour to prepare. When we informed her that we had been here longer than that, she had nothing to say. She brought us drink refills and then a little over 15 minutes later the food came out. The good news, it was hot and the pizza was pretty good. My wife had asked for her chicken sandwich to be served on lettuce instead of a bun and the waitress told her that the boss doesn’t like them using lettuce except on salads. She did bring it the way my wife asked but why would ‘the boss’ not want lettuce used? My burger was overlooked and even though it was purported to be Angus beef it tasted very bland. If my burger was representative then the people who rated their burgers as excellent haven’t had a really good burger. Finally, your taste in beer better run to domestic big name brands only. I asked what dark beers they had and was told the IPA was the darkest. Based on the lousy service, mediocre service and the low rent décor and atmosphere, we will not be returning.

This is better than your average bar food. I haven’t ever been disappointed with the food. Great dive bar atmosphere, locals are all around. Service was friendly and quick.

The only saving grace was that the food was pretty good. The atmosphere was poor with a strange smell. The crowd was trashy. A sign posted outside advertised a happy hour from 3 – 6. Walked in at 5:50 and requested a happy hour menu. The waitress(who was just the epitome of class) reported that happy hour had ended. When responding that the sign said it went until six and my watch showed 5:50, she responded by pointing at the clock(which showed 6:15) and said, «you’re on bar time now.» The beer was good, but I finished it right before I got my food and was never offered anything else to drink. Definitely won’t be back here.

Love The Landing, a Port Austin staple. Local vibe dive bar. You can play Keno, watch the game and get a great burger. Sad day when they took the pork burger off the menu, but they’ve added some new fare. I just tried the Southwest burger with jalapenos and it was terrific. They always toast their buns on the good old bar grill and the toppings are fresh. Sara takes care of the whole bar and the new chef is updating the menu while maintaining the traditional best burger in town.

This place has sadly went downhill in a big way!!! Service is practically non existent and the food just plain sucks… They have hired a bunch of 20 somethings who do nothing but chit chat with each other and ignore the customers… we waited more than 10 minutes to be acknowledged ordered food and it was terrible… greasy, overcooked BLECH! only good thing was the beer was cold!

Sunday evening in Port Austin, and we’re looking for a bite to eat. This place seemed like the only place that was«alive and kickin» in all of the town. Alright then! I guess the Landing will do! The Landing is your typical bar crowd, bar menu and alcoholic bar offerings. I ordered a veggie pizza, featuring really fresh veggies and a thicker crust, for dinner; it definitely hit the spot, but when it came to the leftovers, I wasn’t that into afterward. My guy ordered the pork burger which he seemed thoroughly impressed with. Beer selection was your usual. I picked some summer seasonal offering. It seemed like the crowd was mostly enjoying domestic bottles or mixed drinks. The bartenders were cool… especially the gal that definitely reminded me of Lady Gaga(it had to been the blonde hair and the dark eyes with that smart-ass, sharp look to her)…anyway, she was my favorite, always making sure our drinks were tended to. So will I return? yea, maybe… that is if I find myself in the thumb again hankering for a beer and shot served by the spitting image of Lady Gaga.
