Some dishes are better than others. Pizza is mediocre as is the staff. Good but not great.

Very disappointed that they not only closed but there is no way to even contact them about gift cards that I still have towards the restaurant. Guess everyone is just out of luck with that… no answering system to leave a message or email to contact. they just closed and that’s it.

This was my favorite place for happy hour– the bartenders are great– very friendly and accomodating. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable, but classy. Restaurant is very clean and welcoming. I love the pizza, although there were times when it was«off.» I was a huge fan of the tiramisu until it came to me still frozen once– I never ordered it again. The lamb sliders were my favorite and the happy hour special on oysters were awesome(love the sauces!). I’m so sad this place closed down :(

Long time regulars. Arrosto has incredible food and great ambiance. We stopped by on Friday, Jan 30th, and there was a sign stating Arrosto was shut down until further notice. Does anyone know what’s going on?

Checked out this place one night on a friend’s recommendation. I got the black linguini, which was delicious. I thought their pan pizza was ok with the crust being a between a thin and Chicago pan. Most of the newer Italian places I’ve seen have migrated to this style, but I often feel the pizza is too doughy. Thought the food and service was good.

This is our local go to spot. The service is always good and ambiance is great. Very clean with cozy décor. Food is more like 3 star. Pizza is the way to go and they’re always accommodating to special requests, which is kind of my forte :)

My wife and I used to come here once in a while, went back last weekend and have to say that the service here has gone WAY down! We will not be back. Called the restaurant, made a reservation and requested a booth, was told«no promises,’ okay fine. Got to the restaurant, hostess had a bit of an attitude and requested a booth seat again. Hostess told us that they were not available even though there were many many plainly open booth seats which remained open for the duration of our meal. During the meal, asked our waiter, who was wearing ripped jeans with holes in them, if we could switch to a booth seat, he said he would check and then came back with«they are not available» Later during our meal, a couple came in whom the hostess started to seat at a table, I overheard the couple ask for a booth and they were taken by this same hostess to one of the empty booths! Infuriating! Waiter did not check on us often, had to get a bus boy to get my wife’s drink order which he then forgot, had to ask for the drink again. Food was okay except Lamb was greasy. I do not expect this kind of shabby treatment and service when paying $ 60+ per person. Needless to say we will not be back to this restaurant!

Upon walking into Arrosto with my handsome date, I was immediately reminded of my all-time favorite restaurant in my favorite city of San Francisco, Zuni Café… maybe it was the wood-fired oven, maybe it was the great layout, or the soft light… regardless, it was beautiful, stylish and elegant — a modern day trattoria with great atmosphere. The staff is absolutely fabulous! The waiter, the busboys and bar staff were all attentive, courteous, friendly as can be and very accommodating. They even let us sample all of the reds by the glass! It was quite the taste test and they were all wonderful – so much so that it was difficult to choose one! Great selection of wine, and don’t be afraid to ask for a taste! We shared the arugula and prosciutto wood-fired pizza and it was delicious! The presentation was lovely and you could tell that someone took great care in creating the combination of tastes that the dish presented. I highly recommend it — it’s probably one of the best I’ve ever tasted! Lastly, make sure you end your meal with the Nutella dessert. TODIEFOR!!! I’m definitely looking forward to a second dining experience at Arrosto… hopefully with the same company all around! :-)

Stopped here by chance on a road trip. We were lucky to get a seat since the place was packed. The speck pizza was amazing, as was the beet salad.

This was my third time at Arrosto’s and probably my last. I usually do not write reviews but I felt I needed to. I called to see if there was a wait time since it was 7:30 on a Saturday night. They explained that they don’t know if I would be happy with the seating. When we arrived 10 mins later, there was 20 tables to choose from. We sat and started with apps. We had the crab cake and the rice balls. There was no flavor. The soda was flat. 10 mins to get bread on the table. Well after that poor start, We order our entrees. I ordered the veal parm chop and my soon to be wife ordered the Tagliatelle. The veal chop could have been good but the tomato sauce was god awful. The Tagliatelle had no flavor at all. I had one beer, I asked for a second beer but never received it. My fiancé went to the bathroom and she said the soap dispenser was broken and the bathroom had poop floaters in the toilet. When she came back I received the check. The check showed two beers. I had to have the waitress adjust that. We didn’t order dessert based on the app and entrée performance. Overall the place is a very nice atmosphere but the food was terrible. If you are gonna charge $ 36 bucks for a veal chop, it’s got to be spot on.

Lovely dinner on a beautiful night. Nice outdoor seating. The lobster fra diavolo with the squid ink linguini was quite good, but the lobster was a bit chewy. The spaghetti and meatballs were good. The vegetable primavera was adequate, but could have been a bit more flavorful. The fried Brussel sprouts were excellent! All in all a lovely meal!

My wife and I went there last night. Interesting experience. We didn’t have reservations — I had checked the reservations here on Unilocal and find there were openings in 30 mins so we walked in. Hostess greeted us warmly and we were seated at a window. The restaurant is really beautiful — great layout, active bar area, hightop tables etc etc — very stylish and elegant. Somebody has good taste. I asked for a wine list — 3 times. Some miscommunication I guess — odd. Anyway, our waiter finally came back with the wine list saying«we don’t have a lot of these. just let me know what you want and i’ll check.» WTF — you’re kidding, right? In 30 years of dining out, I have NEVER heard this! You begin to wonder about the success of the operation if they can’t maintain a wine list. It raises lots of questions. You can print temporary wine lists with any printer these days. Anyway, I picked a ’10 Malbec — got an ’11 but so what, they charged me for the cheaper ’10 — nice wine — was worth the wait. Food. We ordered the cold antipasto — nothing to write home about but I liked it. Wife had the grilled salmon and I had the braised lamb pasta. You can’t go wrong with salmon, unfortunately the bed of whatever peas etc it was on was not warm. The braised lamb was nice, not as nice as another I had in Mount Kisco 2 weeks ago but still very good. Waiter never came and asked whether the food was ok. Didn’t have desserts — just a coffee. Overall: Food — good but could be better Atmosphere — great Hostess — nice Waiter — must be losing them a fortune of business. Busboy and other staff — fabulous, courteous etc etc Barstaff seemed like guys I would sit and have a drink with. The kicker: I give the waiter a $ 20 on a $ 100 tab and when I leave and say goodnight to the hostess and him at the door, he ignores me!!! God, if I could only have snatched my $ 20 back.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining with Arrosto recently and were left wondering why we’d taken so long to make reservations. First, let it be noted that Arrosto has ample(parking lot) parking so unlike some of the other restaurants in Port Chester the agony & stress of street parking is not present here. Inside: softly lit(a lady’s favorite), modern, and comfortable. We were seated towards the back of the main dining room in a cozy semi-booth. I will also note that their musical play list was great! Our waiter was attentive & friendly — it’s clear that Arrosto hires professionals, not just any old applicant looking for a serving position. Food: I ordered the Dry Aged Shell Steal w Spaghetti Squash, Maple Brown Butter, and Pecorino and quite honestly it was one of the most savory dishes I’ve had in a very long time. Steak was cooked exactly as it was(I suggest med/rare) ordered, presentation was lovely, and you could tell that someone took great care in creating the combination of tastes that this dish presented. Paired with a glass of Prosecco it was about as close to perfection as it gets! My husband ordered the Arrosto Dry Aged Burger and weeks later is still referencing it as one of the best burgers he’s ever had. The homemade potato chips that came on the side were something that we both really enjoyed — way better than what comes in a bag, they should totally market those things! Side Note: We were delighted to see that Arrosto also offers a Wood-Fired Oven Pizza menu, something that’s a rarity these days. Last, but certainly not least, they also have a great wine list. We’re looking definitely forward to our next dining adventure with Arrosto!

Went here for dinner last night with my girlfriend and we both came to the same conclusion — nice interior, good service, but the quality of the food did not match the price tag. The service was quick and I had no issues with our server, he was friendly and addressed us in time although I think because we’re a young couple he didn’t give us the same experience as others would have received. Not once did he stop by our table to ask how our appetizers or entrees were or even if we needed another cocktail. Surprisingly, the appetizers were larger than the entrees. To start we had the clams posillipo and a margherita pie. They give you enough clams for one hungry person or enough to share for two, which was nice. Being an avid pizza enthusiast I had high hopes for their ‘Naples style’ pizza, but unfortunately it was just average. The rim of the pie had a strong ashy burnt taste to the point that I wouldn’t eat them and the cheese was firm and could have been melted more, no flavors in the pie really stood out. For entrees she had the butternut squash ravioli and I had the seafood brodetto. I tried the ravioli which I thought tasted great but I could barely pick up on the sage, they could have made that more pronounced. Both dishes came in a nice large plates to compensate for the small amount they serve. Overall we liked the space and service but couldn’t justify the price. Oh, and the style of music playing changed more times than the colors on a chameleon’s skin. Not that it was a deal breaker in anyway though :)

My favorite Italian in Port Chester. Great atmosphere, my favorite wine available(not everyone has a good primativo on hand) and an awesome staff. Gawdat Gendy(aka Jonny) is the most amazing and knowledgable server I have ever had. He amplified our experience ten-fold(and we only sit with him when we come). Definitely make sure to end you meal with the nutella dessert. TODIEFOR!

I’ve been to Arrosto a couple of times now, and both visits have been pleasant experiences. The first visit was for a business dinner, and I had a steak that was seasoned and cooked perfectly … and enormous. In fact, it was so big, I took part of it home. And for a gavone like me, that’s saying something, leaving some food on the plate like that!(For what it’s worth, it was just as delicious reheated. I guess that’s a testament to how good the steak really is.) My return was for lunch on Easter Sunday. It was a delight to see that the regular menu was being served(rather than the typical restaurant habit of limiting the menu to four items for the day, and charging a fortune). I ordered the arugula salad, and a broccoli rabe pizza, both of which were superb. The pizza, in particular, was memorable — perfectly crisp, just the right amount of toppings, not heavy at all. Service is attentive and friendly. The décor is attractive: modern trattoria with a few traditional touches that make it comfortable. If I’m taking a star off, it’s for small things, like my ordering a Bloody Mary, then ordering another and having it taste completely different(and not as good as the first). Another member of my party ordered the Brussels sprouts as a side dish, and they were a bit on the bland side. Minor issues, really, and certainly nothing that should prevent you from giving Arrosto a try.
