Planet Fitness – Port St. Lucie

I came in as a guest and the girl at the front desk was scratching her private area with a planet fitness pen and walking around barefoot. Very unsanitary.

I quit that gym, everytime I went to the circuit training, people were in there just doing random things and you couldn’t complete the circuit which kind of throws you off if you were doing legs, legs, then arms and had to skip and come back. Just annoying that no one monitors like they say they will.

I have been a member of this gym for over a year, unfortunately. It is a mediocre gym first and foremost. The tanning beds are terrible. But what really made me mad was today, a younger Navy Sailor stopped in, who has been here working out several times before, asked to put a few Navy brochures on the counter. They rudely answered with a short «no». Seriously? Is THAT the kind of respect that this organization gives to our military? Well after he left, I went up and cancelled my membership. There are alot better gyms around that not only has better equipment, but a better staff, I just truly regret not switching gyms before now. If you’re military, a military family member, or just a proud American… Cancel your membership here and find a real gym!

Read the contract and don’t believe the staff! OK, I got a membership over a year ago and never used it then moved away. I got charged month after month, my fault for not canceling. I stop back in town and cancel my membership on 5÷12÷2012 and am assured I will not be charged any further. I get my next bill and what happens… another charge on on 5÷17÷2012 for $ 21.29. I call Planet Fitness and I am told that I cancelled «2 days» to late to avoid the charge because it is an auto pay and they have rules. I asked for them to refund the money but the answer is NO, WE HAVE RULES… well people, I have rules against getting screwed… find another Gym that cares about their customers… it’s not Planet Fitness!!!

We have been going daily, more so after the new year, since we joined. We’ve recently bumped up our membership to «Black» so we can tan. The equipment suits us just fine and the staff is fantastic!

As gyms go this one is a good deal. Variety of equipment, clean, and doesn’t break the bank. Front desk staff could be friendlier and pay more attention to who is not wiping down the equipment down. I wish they would ban perfume by the patrons AND staff. It’s overwhelming sometimes.

So I found myself back home in the good ol’ 34 983 and needing a gym for more than just 1 week, but definitely way less than a year. Every other gym in the area was either going to price gouge me (lookin’ at you Gold’s Gym) or didn’t have an option.
PF delivered the goods with a cheap starting fee ($ 25) and a cheap monthly fee ($ 10!) on a month-​to-​month basis. PLUS it’s 24 hours M-​F 9pm! NOTHING in PSL in 24h! Top it all off with being 5 min from where I’m at, having shiny new equipment, and a super nice staff, and the place is exactly what I need.
My only complaint: *why* is the Food Network one of the tv channels on the tvs?! And WHY must it be on next to my beloved ESPN? Nothing worse than hitting the wall on the treadmill while trying to watch a tight Yankees/​Red Sox matchup and seeing some «chef» frying up a plate of onion rings covered in BBQ sauce and butter.
