This is our local Sushi restaurant and we have been several times. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. My favorite is the SALMONLOVERS for only $ 15.95 you get a bagel roll(which I always customize and substitute the cream cheese for cucumbers), 2 Salmon sushi, 6 pcs. salmon sashimi… It is always filling and a great price for fresh real sushi not a huge roll just filled with rice! I also love the NARUTOTUNA as a starter if I am really hungry it is– tuna, avocado, scallions wrapped in paper thin cucumber. The menu has a large selection of sushi as well as Thai dishes. My BF often gets the Pad Thai and he loves it! The only reason this place doesn’t get 5 stars is because we have had slow service several times– while eating in and taking out BUT the quality of the food makes up for it.

This place is always very quiet when I go in to eat or get take out and I don’t know why because the sushi is on point and staff is very friendly

This was definitely the hidden gem I was looking for amidst a wide range of average to sub-par food in the Port St. Lucie area. I have to rant a bit … I just can’t control myself… I don’t know if Port St. Lucie intentionally serves mediocre food as a whole city? Or, if years of serving a population that is statistically older than other places I have visited has affected the general food landscape of the entire region. Either way, the food that we ate was mediocre — at best. This is disappointing when you travel and see a bunch of 4-star places on Unilocal,to only eat there and those restaurants equaling the equivalent of a 2 /borderline 3 star restaurant anywhere else in the country. Despite that, this place was legitimately good. Not great, but based on what we ate at other area restaurants, this place is in the ‘great’ column — FORTHISREGION. Food: I was boring and ordered a hybrid California Roll(called a Rainbow Roll) that came wrapped in delicately sliced avocado and topped with a variety of colorful(FRESH) fish. Why was I so boring? I figured that based on how mediocre the food was in port St. Lucie, that I would order something so basic that no one could screw it up. That said, I wish I had tried one of their specialty rolls because they executed the Rainbow Roll perfectly. From the flavor to the composition, the gentleman who made this roll is a master. Thank you. My brother ordered a Thai beef dish(spicy). I tried checking their menu online so I could help everyone out and recommend it, but unfortunately the menu is nowhere to be found. I BELIEVE it was ‘Curry Beef’. This dish was excellent. Booming with flavor, spicy, and cooked perfectly. I even liked it, and usually these type of dishes are not my jam. They also ordered a coconut milk chicken of sorts that had a variety of vegetables in a watery, coconut milk sauce flavored with a little peanut(I think). This was OK. A little bland, and the chicken was a little overcooked and rubbery; but still a nice dish with fresh ingredients. Overall, I think this restaurant can be summed-up my a couple of words: Fresh ingredients cooked/treated with love. Lastly, we started with the gyoza. It was stuffed with pork and ground shrimp(I believe). Texturally, these were perfect. Nice and crispy, yet tender. However, the filling was not really what we were looking for. I am not going to demerit this category for them because maybe this is just the way gyoza here are supposed to taste. For me though, I would not order them again. Plus, the dipping sauce for them wasn’t what I was hoping for. It tasted like just soy sauce. Food: 4⁄5 Service: The service was what I expected. The sushi-master was very accommodating with a warm and inviting smile, and our server was also nice. She was prompt and efficient, and our food came at a reasonable time; Service; 3⁄5 Atmosphere: Nice atmosphere. There are outlets at each booth along the wall which is nice if you ever want to chill here and do some work, charge a phone, or do something else with an outlet(???). Either way, the furnishings were appropriate and comfortable. Lastly, the restaurant(from the bathroom to our table) was very clean. Sometimes I get weird smells at restaurants such as this. This place was on-point Atmosphere: 4⁄5 Price: For what we got, this was a great value. I was really happy with all of our food — except for the gyoza which just didn’t resonate with us. But despite that not being all that good, the price was fair. Price: 4⁄5 Final Thoughts: On a trip to FL where the food we ate could be summed-up by the word: ‘mediocre’, this was the lone bright spot. If you are in the mood for this type of cuisine, I strongly recommend this!

There aren’t many good Thai options around Port St. Lucie, but this is the best I’ve found so far. Hard to give it more than 3 stars, though. Although the restaurant was nearly empty at 2pm, they had too many«orders» to make us any sushi. Service was fine, but not particularly friendly. The ambience isn’t great, as it’s just typical restaurant in a strip mall. The food was good, but nothing memorable. I’d come back, but I wouldn’t seek it out. Prices for most entrée dishes are around $ 11-$ 16.

Service was excellent, on a busy Saturday evening we never waited for refills on drinks or time it took to explain the menu options. The Panang curry was outstanding, lots of broth and very flavorful. We will be back

The food is okay. Service is so slow though. I guess there’s one person working? I don’t know. Server is nice. She tries to be helpful when I was ordering, but it just seemed like she was preoccupied and it took forever to get my two rolls and even longer to get my bill and then my credit card back. Nothing special here to rate higher than 3 stars.

This place is top notch. The owners are extremely friendly and once you have been there, they never forget the way you order your food or your drinks. The food is beautifully presented and everything on menu is always fresh and flavorful. My family will always be regulars and highly recommend Taiyo for a real treat

A great place for sushi. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. They really make you feel at home, though they are not the speediest service. Food never disappoints and the sushi is yummy.

Pros: Great menu selection, and delicious food! I recommend the udon noodle dishes and the pad Thai dishes! Also, they make great sweet Thai tea! Cons: I have been there three times and every time was very slow service. That’s why I only gave it three stars!

Drove past this place a few times, and decided to stop in for lunch. If you know where Tavola(pizza place) is, it’s in the same strip mall. The décor is nice and soothing. The sushi bar is on the right when you walk in, however we sat at a booth. I had the drunken noodles, hot wife had some sushi. Drunken noodles with tofu: wow! The noodles were good, with a nice assortment of veggies, even some rings of jalapeño. The tofu was fried, crisp outside, soft inside. The sauce was outstanding. Very spicy(you can order mild to hot) sauce with great flavor. I highly recommend. Sushi: very good, fresh and flavorful. Salmon was melt in your mouth good. The roll size is good, not too much, not too little. The service is great! Do yourself a favor and stop in.

Worst customer service ever! I waited 5 minutes while the guy behind the bar ignored me standing at the door. I asked him if I needed to seat myself, before I was sat. After that I sat and sat before I ever saw my server. I am from out of town and it had good reviews, but I definitely would not recommend!

My wife and I frequent this establishment often. The sushi always tastes fresh — the female owner has a memory of an elephant — if we didm;t go there for two months she remembers us — and going her an order for three people — she remembers the entire thing. Anything curry is wonderful there as well as the sushi. The portions are dead-on and the prices are very reasonable. The selection can be somewhat overwhelming, but since it’s Sushi and Thai, I can understand them wanting to make a vast selection. I would like a smaller menu however. The establishment is clean, food is served expeditiously, and we will continue to frequent Taiyo!

OMG!!! Sushi is to die for! We ordered the St. Lucie roll, dragon roll, lovers roll, and shrimp tempura roll. I can honestly say the best sushi I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot! The vegetable tempura, fried rice, and chicken tempura were excellent as well. The stir fry noodle dish was good but the only negative thing was the shrimp in the noodles was kinda mushy and cold but they took it off our bill without us asking so that was nice. Lastly but most important the service was amazing! Great people and they actually cared. I will recommend this place and go back again. Def worth the trip :)
