Best tasting chocolate I’ve ever had. Be sure to try one of the drinks. The cake is perfectly moist. The salted caramels are delicious. I can’t wait to come back for a chocolate chip cookie!

I felt like I was on an episode of Portlandia. It was like feminist bookstore only I was in a coffee shop instead of a bookstore. The cappuccino I ordered was really too milky and I asked if she could remake it but the barista got quite upset about my request. She charged me twice and I only agreed to this because I was desperate for my coffee fix and was running late to an appointment. I ended up paying $ 7(including the $ 1 tip I had given her originally that she refused to return) for a measly little cappuccino.

The drinking chocolates are super delicious. I have tried a few of the cookies as well but have yet to order the specialty chocolates that look divine! One employee(I don’t remember her name or I would have given a shout out!) hustled to get my beverage ready so I could book it back to work(they were busy at this time of day). Thank you for that, you’re fabulous! They have frequent customer perks so ask about it.

Cute little shop with fun gift options and tasty treats for yourself. I got some bars for my chocolate-loving dad, and got myself a candy, cookie and drinking chocolate to try(I might have inherited his chocolate obsession). The drinking chocolate is amazing but intensely chocolate– at 3 oz, it was still so rich I shared it with a friend. The cookie was tasty. The peppermint meltaway was too pepperminty for me, but a nice texture– it’d be good for a peppermint lover. The décor is cute, though seating is very limited. Worth stopping in!

Now Oprah(and her staff) have blessed this place by putting their products on her«favorite things» list, So if you’re ever feeling a little down about yourself and want to raise your self-esteem just eat some nearly pure-gold covered chocolate in the shape of religious symbols. All that good and power is now inside you! wasn’t that easy?

The chocolates are so delicious, hand made. I love how delicate the layers are, so flavorful. I think I giving these as gifts this year. Yum!

We found Alma Chocolate at the Pendleton Outlet in Anderson CA. Evidently this is a special line made for Pendleton. Their chocolates are dark only, perfect for me. They had a Peanut Butter and Jelly Bar and other assorted types, including a large squirrel holding a hazelnut. I bought a Sea Salt Hazelnut Crunch Bar on the way north. I won’t go into the entire description or the pedigrees of the ingredients as they do on the box, but suffice it to say they combine hazelnuts and dark chocolate to make a divided bar shaped praline covered w/dark chocolate, candied hazelnuts and flakes of sea salt. It doesn’t break into segments as readily as other chocolates I’ve had, but it’s very tasty, w/a hint of bitterness from the 72% chocolate. My only complaint is that the packaging doesn’t allow as easy access to the chocolate as other bars I’ve had. It’s one long plastic bag inside the small oblong box rather than a wrapper that opens up. Minor complaint in the scheme of things. On the way south I bought another bar, plus a squirrel and a jar of Lavender/Caramel syrup as a thank you gift for the friends who watched Jordin while we were gone. I just finished the first bar and now I have to decide whether to keep the second one or to give it to my dark chocolate-loving son-in-law as I intended.

Small quaint chocolate shop. LOVE chocolate so made sure to visit as many chocolatiers as possible during our trip to Portland. This place has AMAZING toffee – pistachio chocolate toffee, dark cherry chocolate toffee – all of it is so good. Also, the chocolates/truffles sold individually are amazing but do add up $$$-wise at 2.25+ per each piece. The dark chocolate salted caramel was my favorite. Wish I could have stocked up on like 30 of those chocolate pieces/truffles…

Best tastiest moistest slice of chocolate cake I’ve every had. This is seriously the chocolate cake of my dreams and just writing about it makes me want to go back and get more. If by chance, I’m ever ‘wrongfully of course” convicted of a heinous crime, on death row and have to choose my last meal… a slice of this with a glass of milk. Oh yes!

The Thai peanut butter cup was spicy good. Salted peanut butter cup was also a hit. The salted lavender caramel tasted more of salt and less of lavender. The habanero caramel was much better. The Mayan sipping chocolate was a well balanced mixture of nuts and spices. Will definitely come back again.

Had Alma Chocolates bookmarked for the longest time and finally went a couple weeks ago. My bestie and I thought drinking chocolate on a sunny Saturday afternoon sounded delightful. She ordered the Classic Drinking Chocolate and I got the Woodland Dream to share. The Classic was intensely rich and a couple sips of the 3 oz. drink were more than enough. The Woodland Dream was a combination of a hazelnut praline and 68% cacao – it had more of a hot chocolate texture with the addition of the milk and cream. Also snacked on the peanut butter cup and cherry-hazelnut shortbread cookie. It was all so good, this might be my new place to pick up local gifts for people. Love!

Finest cup of hot brew, sweet treats, and chocolate in a 100 mile radius. This very well may be Portland’s best.

My my my, nothing impresses me like good quality chocolate, especially when it’s not expensive. So many forms to keep the senses happy and wondering which piece you need to eat first. A chocolate chip cookie? Sure, why not. A sample of a peanut butter item? Of course. 70% dark chocolate frogs for only $ 2.00, oh you better believe it. There were too many things to take in and even in a small shop. Suffice it to say, everything that I mentioned was all good. I will have to go back soon to see what other interesting items that I can try. Enjoy.

The quality here is very high, no doubt. It’s pretty pricey, however. The space is pretty small, but appopriately so– I think most people just buy stuff to go, so there’s usually plenty of seating. There are also great samples. I recommend the(Thai) spicy chocolate peanut butter cups if you like spicy food.

A little gem packing a huge punch of chocolate decadence right into my sweet tooth. Alma was a welcome surprise on a cold Sunday spent shivering in the cold. A small shop filled with chocolates and desserts along with drinking chocolates and espresso drinks. The real draw are the array of drinking chocolates that are both varied and interesting. One can choose one spiced up with chilies or like me opt for a more traditional blend of praline. At $ 4 a cup it is about as close to Nirvana one can get for less than a fiver. My drinking chocolate was perfect. I decided since I was treating myself I might as well try a couple sweets. The standout being the chocolate lavender shortbread cookie for $ 1. Surprisingly robust with lavender flavor this cookie is something special! I tried another $ 1 shortbread cookie with espresso that was good but did not pack the flavor I was hoping. I do wish they had a drinking chocolate flight so that I could try more than one at a time. These cups are so rich that I had to settle with only one! The service was a bit cold. No info was offered and for such a small store it felt corporate. Still, a great place to enjoy a treat!
