I have been a fan of AT for a couple of years. The clothing used to have a great fit and to be well made but I think it has been on the decline. Recently, I had a bad experience with an item I wore one time and I thought it would be no big deal to exchange it. I had the item for two weeks tops. I had several receipts since I have a new job and I have been shopping more but the descriptions were vague so I wasn’t sure which receipt belonged to the item. The young girl working at AT looked at my receipts and then said the item was more than two years old and they would not take it. It was all just really awkward and somewhat humiliating. I rarely exchange anything and I was super disappointed that not only do they not stand behind the quality of their products but they have no idea how to treat customers.

The styles are hit and miss, some are fantastic, but pants are way too long, skirts are way to short, and vanity sizes are too generous.
I love the service and the quality, but the prices are mostly out of reach for me. If you manage to catch a 75% off sale and they happen to have your size in a style you like, you can snag a great deal. I once managed to get a pair of $ 299 boots for $ 75. Still pretty expensive on my wallet, but they have lasted very well and I still get complimented every time I wear them.
I will still shop there, but will only buy during deep discount sales.

I love AT and I shop here very often. Always I find something to buy and rarely leave the store without a little something! The last two times I shopped here iI was not impressed at all with their costumer service. Last week, I was totally ignored by the lady/ladies on the floor as I was trying to carry my chosen items to the fitting room! Last night, someone helped me with my fitting room, but the cashier at check out was totally unprepared to wrap up the shopping experience! Every question I asked she was «not sure» of the answer. If you are not sure, then go ahead and ask!!! Very slow, and I had the feeling she did not know what she was doing! Too bad I like the clothes, otherwise I would not set foot in here for a while!!!

I have been shopping at Ann Taylor for about 10 years. They used to cater more to my age group but now seem to cater to 20-somethings, so there is less for me to buy. The quality of the product has also gone somewhat downhill. They used to carry beautiful silk sweaters in all colors, but now only carry cotton. The dresses are generally too short for me, but the shirts and pants are still things that I buy. Great service.
