I was originally only going to rate this store three-ish based on their overpriced, mediocre boutique clothing, but pleasant staff in both the oregon locations I’ve been to. But I decided to drop my rating to as low as it would go when I happened on a video detailing the torturous practices this company employs when making their wares. I’m not even an animal rights nut. I eat meat. I fish. I hunt. But you know what I don’t do? I don’t skin animals with fully developed central nervous systems alive, beat them for fun, and leave them to die in a pile of exposed flesh and bone and sinew. That’s just unnecessary brutality. I read further and found that BCBG took a pledge to stop selling fur items in 2008, yet decided to stop honoring it randomly in 2011. This company obviously has no real standards that it holds itself to, and to sum up my review up in one statement-I would be embarrassed to be seen wearing their clothing.

The store is nice and well-put together. The staff are pretty cool — considering that most places like this are cold and distant in their approach. The clothes look good on the women who can pull them off(but then again, those women tend to be head-turners anyway). Guys, if you’re tagging along, just sit on the huge bench in the shoe area like a gentleman and don’t go near the dressing rooms. Check your Twitter feed or fantasy lineup to pass the time(or sneak away for a snack down the way at the food vendors!) Ladies, here’s the thing: you’re about to spend a ton of money on clothes that are generally really well-made and fashionable, but they are almost runway-fashionable…meaning, you can’t really wear them except for in your one Instagram photo of the new«find». IF, you have the body type to pull off their clothes and you don’t mind shoes that are 11 inch heels, just know that there are only two other times you will be able to wear anything here: 1) When you want to be a higher-class, more expensive version of the scandalous girl at the club(or maybe the one at work nobody respects), and, 2) If you actually work here at the store. Just sayin’.

Bigger fan of this one than the one in downtown. Much better selection. The only huge negative(as with the one downtown) are the dressing rooms don’t have mirrors in them. You have to walk out in the hall, where everyone in the store feels it is necessary to comment on your clothes. Sometimes… I just don’t feel like commentary people! And in terms of people’s husbands/boyfriends ‘helping’ them shop. Ok, they can sit outside your dressing room and comment on everything you are wearing, but also commenting on my outfits… unnecessary. Sometimes things don’t fit, or you don’t have the right accessory on underneath, or it’s altogether inappropriate to be seen wearing something but you don’t know that until you step outside and see it staring you right in the face. So, having someone’s boyfriend(in his football jersey) with a new snarky comment every time I step out, not the most enjoyable shopping experience. So girls, leave the guys at home. You will have enough comments from all the girls in the store. And if you do bring them along, tell them to keep quiet.
