You can’t go wrong with bunk. Wonder location is a Cluster F*** after shows, Alberta is my favorite location. Always tasty, fresh, and friendly. They do veggie stuff equally as well as something with pork belly on it.

I finally got to check out their mobile Bunk Truck, and get my hands on a famous Bunk sandwich. I opted for their seasonal veggie sandwich, which at this time is the Marinated Garbanzo Bean with hot peppers, feta and arugula. It’s pricey at $ 10 for the sandwich and kettle chips. While I loved some of the fresh ingredients(arugula, feta, peppers), I wasn’t aware that the sandwich would be served cold, contrary to appetizing photos of other panini grilled sandwiches on their website. The marinated garbanzo was overly salted, and the bread too hard and chewy. a lightly-grilled version(with less salty garbanzo beans) would have made a world of difference! I also got a side of the apple cabbage slaw, which was delicious!

Bunk sandwiches is a pretty good spot. The food is very fresh as far as quantity goes. I had the thirty dancer which was really good. They squirt some lemon or lime on it that really gives it a nice zest. Staff was pretty friendly. Kinda got weird vibes when I asked to add mustard to it but it wasn’t a huge deal. the reason I’m giving 3 stars is be aid rod the die. It’s too small for what you’re getting. There are sandwich places u can get twice the size sandwich for $ 3 – 4 less.

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had. Took this on the plane and it was a great in-flight meal. Sandwiches range from $ 10 – 12 but it comes w/a side of crispy potato chips. Ordered the grilled asparagus sandwich… creamy spread, perfectly toasted bread, delightfully cooked veggies… LOVEDIT! The staff was incredibly nice and friendly. Easy to find location w/street parking.

For some reason, I like this location better than the Alberta location. It’s cramped and you have to wait but the meatball sub is so delicious. Maybe it’s all the effort(I think this one is only open till 3?) you put into to actually getting food that makes it taste better. Or something.

Over-hyped for all the media coverage. Pork Belly Cubano sandwich was not very impressive, and the service is definitely not with a smile. Maybe the other location is better, but better food available elsewhere in Portland.

Our work relocated to a new area, and we received gift certificates to this place. I headed on over and tried the chicken salad sandwich with avocado and bacon. Not bad at all. The place is small, but clean. It’s a bit away from my job so I’d only come here on certain situations.

My husband ordered a PBJ sandwich for my daughter, it took 20+ minutes to arrive. I was surprised, hoping to find some artisan add-on that could have justified the time. Nope, just plain bread and peanut butter sandwich with jelly, not toasted. Exactly as ordered. If there’s a silver lining to this experience is that I am so extremely proud that my 5 year old at home makes PBJs faster than the adults who work here.

Overpriced and not great service. Some of the sandwiches are really great, most are good, but I don’t like crunchy bread so it could be better. And $ 10 – 12 for a sandwich is pretty high to not be paying for good service or ambiance. The side of pickles is so good & house made! But it’s $ 3 for pickles. I’ll probably be back but still it’s a little overrated.

Owner reached out to me and apologized for my experience and offered a full refund and a chance to experience their food again on him. This is the customer service that makes all the difference. I was amazed to find it that they truly cared about what My concerns were. This is the type of business I love to support and I will be back to give it another shot! I am excited to try all the food many rave about! Thank you for remembering the little people that contribute to your success! It makes all the difference in the end!! Great customer service goes a long way!

Yeah, no thanks. I’m truly disappointed in Bunk! I’ve heard all these great things about this place, but it’s really not worth the hype. My biggest pet peeve is poor customer service. I’m sorry you’re in a crappy mood, but please do your job. Not even a hello, welcome to Bunk, do you have any questions? Nothing! I experienced better customer service at KFC! Anyways, it’s also super overpriced! $ 10 for a turkey sandwich and like 8 – 10 kettle chips? Really? I expected at least more chips. The sandwich wasn’t too bad, but It also made my stomach churn later that afternoon. I am upset, I don’t see all the hype, I guess Bunk isn’t for everyone. I’d get more bang for my buck at Togo’s.

Bunk was one of the biggest disappointments of my trip to Portland. The food looks great in the pictures, but when my wife and I went, it was some of the most bland food I had ever paid for. The pork belly was lacking flavor and the bread was really dry.

My final meal in Portland, which was lunch time, comes from another cool deli in the diverse South East part. This is not a big facility with a few tables. But the kitchen is big and well-equipped with ongoing stoves and sandwich presses to make some grubbin’ sandwiches. For my final meal, I had one of the specials: the Roast Beef sandwich. For $ 10.50, I get a nice slab of fresh roast beef, melted pepper jack cheese, and caramelized onions on a toasted poppy-seed bun. The sandwich also comes with a hand full of kettle chips. The ingredients incorporated very well with the toasted bun. Indeed this is very tasty sandwich. I also added a bottle of Miller High-life for $ 3.50. «Of course, I got to have a beer for lunch!» The crew was very cool and very laid back. In Portland, all I ate were sandwiches on most of the places I visited and reviewed. But Bunk’s is definitely a great place for a sandwich.

I had a friend visiting from out of town and we needed some lunch. We wanted to grab some sandwiches and Bunk is always on the list when checking Unilocal so we decided to give them a try. We were much closer to the Alberta location but they have some pretty poor reviews so we drove to this location instead. I didn’t realize that they all have slightly different menus, mainly when it comes to sides, so beware! I was a little sad because the Alberta location has french fries and this one doesn’t, but I’m a bit of a french fry addict so that’s not surprising. This location is really small, like maybe 5 tables, and it has a really homey feel with lots of wood. It’s almost as if you stepped into the 80’s, like I fully expected to find one of those weird printed brown couches. The napkin holders have old pictures on each side which is an interesting touch. The menu sounds amazing and I had some trouble deciding but I eventually went with the Roast Beef. My friend went with the Pulled Pork and I got a grilled cheese for my little one; I wish they had a kids menu because $ 6 for a grilled cheese is a little high, but I will say it was pretty large. My friend and I ended up going halfsies so I got to eat both sandwiches. The Roast Beef was good, but the horseradish was borderline too much. The horseradish and the dijon really overpowered everything else on the sandwich. The onions and roast beef were good, but nothing really memorable. I felt the same way about the pulled pork, the mustard really overpowered the sandwich. I think the pulled pork was my favorite of the two, but I don’t think I would order it again. The sandwiches are good solid sandwiches but nothing really special. They aren’t piled high with toppings, but enough for one person to enjoy. I would definitely give another location a try with some adjusted expectations.

I got the pulled pork sandwich, and honestly with all the hype I thought this place would be great but I was disappointed, it was different and not what I was hoping for. Over priced for the size of the sandwich. They church up the sandwich and add unnecessary spices and bs. I don’t know if they are going for something different or «their own» but it’s not working Quit trying to make it fancy with unnecessary«unique» tasting stuff, keep the sandwich simple like your grandma use to.

They were out of the pork belly cubano, which I had my heart set on. The service was fast, as we came after the lunch rush. I had the Italian hoagie, which was pretty good. We also had the roast beef sandwich which wasn’t bad as well. A super casual place to check out for lunch.

PORKBELLYCUBANO. Like, are you kidding me?! We came out of our way just to try this magnificent-sounding gluttonous sandwich, and it was worth every single fatty calorie. Bunk Sandwiches was dead empty on a Saturday afternoon(which was lucky for us), and after a handful of minutes, we walked away clutching their drool-worthy cubano. Shared between two people, it was the perfect treat to have paired with a few stouts at a nearby brewery. I doubt I could eat here regularly without putting on a few pounds, but I’ll definitely try to make it out here every so often for their insane sandwiches.

I got the Pulled Pork and the Chicken Salad sandwiches. The pulled pork was very tasty and fatty which is the way it should be. It was a little on the sweet side. While I did like the pulled pork itself, the additional mayo and then slaw made it way too heavy and mayonaise-y. The chicken salad also had a little too much mayo for my taste. The ciabatta bread was delicious though. Come here if you want heavier, saucy sandwiches. While I’m sure many would find it delicious, it was just a bit much for me.

Portland, day 4, stop 3, take out sandwiches. Pork belly cubano — 3⁄5 — Decent pork, but not the most exciting sandwich, especially compared to the sandwiches from our next stop. Overall, «A-OK.»
