Well, this chain is owned by the ultra right-wing Kevin Cameron. Need I say more?

I’m very grateful that this cafeteria-style establishment is here for us wage slaves at Liberty Centre.(Just kidding! We don’t have it too terrible in our air-conditioned tower.) Still, the chili, grilled cheese, and salads have saved me from starvation from time to time. Most of the time, the caramel cookies are perfectly baked and absolutely delicious. The pepperoni and cheese-filled rolls are also pretty decadent kids’ food. The kind people behind the counter are very helpful and quickly get people through the line. Breakfast sandwiches are also decent, but I would like a canadian bacon option. All-in-all, quite handy to have.

Under $ 5 for a veggie omelet with hashbrowns? IMPOSSIBRU!!! Getting food for that value and not feeling sick in the stomach is worthy of a 5-star rating in my opinion. If I ever forget or don’t want to make breakfast I’ll be coming here to get a cheap fix for breakfast. That is until my company makes me move to a different office in a month or two. :(

Full disclosure fromt he get-go: This is a corporate lunch café located in the lobby of the Liberty Centre building. This is not a destination for anyone looking for a nice atmosphere to go with their food. However, if you do work in the area, it’s an inexpensive, no frills option for lunch. They serve soups, sandwiches and wraps. Some of the sandwiches are ready made in a fridge(they’re cheapest, around $ 4 — $ 5), and other sandwiches can be made to order for around $ 5 to $ 7. It’s nothing to scream about, but it’s cheap and if you’re in the area, it’s easy. However, if you’re looking for a nice Portland style ambiance to your lunch, you’d best keep looking…

The joke around the Liberty Centre is the nickname for this place — Café No-Way. There are some valid reasons… granted, I have eaten here, and then paid for it. There is something seriously wrong with their lettuce… it gives everyone I work with including myself stomach cramps and frequent afternoon visits to the loo. The French fries are pretty tasty, but your thighs will eventually communicate that to the world. All the food is from a huge corporate frozen food distributor. nothing local, fresh, or organic… Which still shocks me being that we ARE in portland. Honestly, there are better options around… people just have to walk a block or two. But, really, your tummy, thighs, and other body parts will thank you.
