Campbell Salgado Studio

I have been searching for a great photographer and finally found Kim at Campbell Salgado Studio. She is amazing! I can’t even begin to tell you how beautiful our pictures turned out. Her studio is really cool too with great outdoor spaces and incredible backdrops. Not only is Kim an amazing artist, but she’s also really nice and put my young son at ease. I highly recommend her!

You know those babies that smile obligingly and frolic adorably when faced with a camera? My baby is not one of those babies. She’s the other kind — the ones who somehow manage to make a horrible face right when the shutter clicks and who wail in misery two seconds after being posed in front of a backdrop. AND YET: Kim Campbell managed to not only get some AMAZING shots, she got so many I could barely narrow down my favorites!
We got our business photos done at Campbell Salgado years ago, and I’m so glad came back. Kim and Francisco are magicians.

As good as it gets? To say the least. We were treated with nothing but professionalism, love, and honesty when working with this business. To say that the team is incredible is an understatement. We were invited in to Kim and Francisco’s home, it is not just their studio. Kim, her assistant Allie, the planning session, e mailed suggestions on what to wear to get the best out of the seating, phone call reminders, and price lists given before photos were taken were just a few things that this studio offered. When my family of four showed up for our photo session we were taken to a private room to be able to primp and change into whatever clothes we wanted for the part of the session that we were doing. Their back yard studio was colorful, rustic and true. The kids got to play through their shoot and the camera was pretty much unnoticed by both of them. We never once heard Kim say «Smile» as a true artist acquires shots from true life, not poses. It took less than a week to see photos, which was like a million years only because I knew they would be the best photos ever. I was able to go in to see the photos in their home in a private room with the shades drawn. They composed a slide show of all the photos played on a big screen to beautiful music. I was a sobbing mess by the end of it. We are still trying to widdle down the photos we want to have and display in our home. An incredible family experience with amazing and loving professionals. We could not be more happy with the results.

I was recently photographed by Kim at Campbell Salgado Studio. First, I should say the studio space («space» is an understatement) is amazing. The «studio» is actually a whole beautiful house-​turned-​studio, where each room has been turned in to a photography room with warm, painted backdrops (no vinyl pull-​down fake backdrops). The space is comfortable and pleasant. I don’t much like to be in front of the camera, but needed business portraits. Kim helped me relax and, in a very short time, found ways to make me laugh and smile by talking to me about the things I love. I never felt rushed, and she seemed like she really liked what she was doing. She took several shots to make sure the lighting was just right, and created poses that were flattering and natural.
Often when I get my pictures taken I dread seeing them, but right after the photo shoot I already felt pretty secure that they would be okay, because her competence was clear throughout the shoot. I got the photos through a link to a neat website about a week later, and they were all very nice– I am very pleased, and looking forward to putting my new business portrait up on my website.
Professional photography is an investment, and if anyone could do it then we would not turn to people with the skill and talent like Kim’s. I am replacing this photo with a semi-​professional one taken by a photographer who shot staff photos at my university. The difference is huge. You’re not going to take your camera in to your back yard (even if you buy an SLR and backdrop) and get shots like these. Campbell Salgado seems to post frequent specials at their blog, so check there before you schedule.

I have had photos taken at Campbell Salgado Studio four times. Once for my engagement photos with my husband, once during pregnancy, once with my family and again this Halloween at the fun benefit they put on to raise money for the Oregon Food Bank.
The photos from those sessions are our most treasured shots. They are artful, beautiful and really capture the essence of unique and important moments in my life.
As a business person, I also send clients to this studio and consistently get positive feedback both about the nurturing experience of working with them and the end result of amazing photos.
In terms of cost, you get what you pay for… The value of professional studio portraits can not be compared to taking some digital shots at home and printing them on your computer! And, I have never spent as much as what the previous review lists so I am pretty sure there are ways to work within your own budget.
