Chilango

An underrated food cart for sure. It’s one of my go-​to food carts for lunch, especially if for Mexican food. Very affordable and even better with the portions they serve, pertaining to the Chilango bowl. It’s the only thing I order from the menu because it’s consistently a reliable lunch item that fills, is packed with flavor, and is cheap.
Chilango, I believe, is all organic and every time I ordered the ingredients are (as with all carts) fresh. The only issue I had with the cart was they had ran out of guacamole mid-​afternoon, and their guacamole can go out fast — which I consider a signature ingredient on their menu (so good!).

Chilango isn’t your standard Mexican food truck. The meat is all natural, the greens are organic, and the handmade tortillas are made with gluten-​free cornmeal. The carnitas and ground beef tacos are fantastic. The meat is covered in onions and cilantro and then wrapped in a warm, handmade tortilla. I crave them several times a week. Try the red salsa and the green salsa, or another of the four or so salsas they make. If you’re into poultry, the chicken tinga taco is also really great if you’re craving a stewed meat. All the meat I’ve tried has been flavorful and cooked perfectly. They offer breakfast, which is great for us because we live near the food truck and there aren’t too many morning options in this area. Yeah, I guess it’s because I wanted to simply get a Burrito and give that a try, maybe I shall go for some of their signature deals the next time. Either way, the Burrito was big, heavy, stuffed with lots of the usual ingredients, but… that’s it. The taste was rather flat, and if you didn’t immerse it in the avocado-​dip I took with it (which was awesome!) it was pretty dry too. All in all the trend for this place would still be positive, because I’m an optimist and I’m sure so many Unilocal-​ers can’t be wrong!

The burritos are great and the tacos are awesome! I’ve yet to try the enchiladas, but I’ve heard that they are one of the most popular items on the menu! I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine!

So glad that I tried this cart. I ordered a cheese quesadilla and it was really good. The guac that came with it was greatly seasoned also. This cart has a ton of options. This cart caters to the customers that want healthier Mexican. The portions were an adequate. Not too small and not too large. I will be returning again!

Great healthy alternatives and lunch for less than $ 7 no matter what I get. The Vegan Tempeh Burrito is my favorite! if you are on the PSU campus, you should definitely not miss this one. You can text in your order if you are in a hurry, but I stopped by during lunch rush and only waited 5 minutes anyway.

There’s four Mexican food carts in this pod: Chilango, Chopollos, Fernando’s, and one other. Chilango plays the healthy angle; the breakfast burrito here stands out above the others. The chilaquiles are the BEST of any version I’ve tried, including those from higher-​end Mexican sit down restaurants. Be sure to spend the extra $ 1 for guacamole, it makes a huge difference.

Just had the best breakfast burrito I’ve had in a long time. It featured the generous size I was looking for; the potatoes, black beans, and pico tasted fresh; and it had an extremely tasty tortilla (perhaps my favorite part). I tried one of their (seemingly popular) bowls in the past but it didn’t really excite me; I guess I just need that tortilla. Happy to discover this cart again.
