Coco Donuts

Very very good donuts! Super fresh, light textured, excellent! The latte was delightful as well. My husband, who takes his coffee black and is particular about it, gave two thumbs up. We came in with family and shared an assortment. Rather than fighting over them we sliced them so we could each try several. Lucky I don’t live close enough to make this a habit or I’d be an addict in no time. There were no leftovers even though it looked like we’d gotten too many when we first opened the box.

The lavender donut is heavenly. Soft and light with just a bit if chew and not too oily. Waaaay better than Voodoo. Didn’t like the lavender latte too much. Get here quick. Sometimes they run out of all the good stuff by 10.

Each day, from shortly before sunrise until well after sunset, I crave sweets. My craving reaches its peak in the mid-​afternoon as I’m staring at a computer screen. Fortunately for me, that computer is stationed in a building right around the corner from this Coco Donuts location. My frequent afternoon jaunts for old fashioned, chocolate covered, coconut, or lavender (to name a few) donuts never fail to satisfy and I often get more delectable nibbles than I had expected.
On a particularly notable recent visit, I was enjoying a donut and an espresso by the window when I saw a man outside in the cold with a sign asking for help with bus fare and for a hot coffee. I decided to order a coffee for him on my way out. As I pulled out cash, the kind person behind the counter stopped me and said that the coffee was on the house.
In all, Coco Donuts’ donuts satisfy my craving for sweets, and they are served with a generous side of humanity.

I don’t much care for donuts, but I made an exception for this place.
My husband loves maple bars so we stopped in here while on our way back to our car. I just had a plain glazed donut. The first thing I noticed was that the actual donut was very soft and light. I then took a bite of the maple bar which was also soft, light, creamy and heavenly. The maple icing was very natural tasting and not like the color sugar coating you get at the super market or Krispy Kreme.
I was also surprised to find that their prices are pretty low. It’s about $ 1.25 a donut I think.
So if you’re passing by and you love donuts, don’t let this place pass you by… or the other way around.

The chocolate old fashion just may have been the best I’ve ever had. Bought a variety of donuts for my family and everyone enjoyed what they tried.

I’m a big donut fan so I’m very picky about donuts. We decided to try this place after finding it on Unilocal and I’m so glad we did! The donuts are amazing and the girl that rang us up was so sweet! I’ll definitely be back for more donuts before heading back to California :)

You’re right Coco Donuts, I definitely DON’T want donuts on Sundays!
Seriously though, great donuts. But why aren’t you open on Sunday?!?

I stayed at a hotel nearby so decided to check out Coco for breakfast one morning.
It’s a small shop, but I like the layout. I ordered a chocolate old fashion and a latte, and glad to say the donut was spot on. Flavor’s great, and it’s not too cakey. Latte was very good as well. There’s some standing room towards the window so it’s great to people watch it the morning while you munch of the donuts.
Would’ve liked to try more, but 1^st experience was a good one!

The first time I walked in was mid-​day after lunch and I wanted something small and sweet. Simple. All they had on offer were the unwanted remnants from the morning. Quite unappetizing with no apologies for actually having anything worthwhile on hand.
No purchase and I left.
The second time I went was this morning. I was early, just prior to the store’s opening time of 600am and thought I could take donuts to work. They are one of the few places that are open at this time in the morning.
Right before opening time, two people walked up with donuts stacked on cooling racks from off-​site. This site must not be large enough to make their own. Good to know. (a small strike but a strike against nonetheless)
So, I waited for them to open. Opening time came and went without anyone acknowledging my presence — my waiting presence. By 603, they were singly packing donuts into the donut case; a task that could have been done easily off-​site so that all they had to do was plug and play. Not here. So, I left.
No donuts, won’t go back. If they can’t be bothered to be ready at 600am as advertised and ready for customers (even partially!), they obviously don’t need or want my business.
In addition, despite the prominence of who designed their twee website, none of it worked. The only thing that worked was the main page showing off a donut and a cup of coffee. Very unprofessional for a business. Have a web presence or don’t but do it right.

The lavender donut is the best! Also their espresso drinks!

Their pumpkin spice donuts are heavenly! It is donut perfection! Please make it a fall staple. I can’t wait to go to work downtown, so I can grab a pumpkin spice donut.

Good quality donuts that don’t miss on the sweetness or indulgence. Ingredients are wonderful and nothing’s more Portland than a cup of coffee and a donut in hand! Apparently Coco also roasts their own beans!
I got the espresso glazed donut (chocolate glazed with smatterings of espresso beans on top) and it was gobbled down wayy to quickly. The place itself is pretty small with counters only for standing room, so it’s generally a to-​go shindig but Pioneer Square is nearby if you need somewhere to chill. I’ll definitely be back – these are a far cry from QFC’s or Safeway’s dozen doughnut boxes for sure.

Coco Donuts are fantastic. They give you just what you want in a donut — fresh, tasty, and perfectly topped. They also serve great coffee.
Coco donuts is locally owned and operated which makes them even better!

I love this place! amazing coffee, amazing doughnuts. seriously delicious. the selection is somewhat small, but they are all so soft & mouth watering. YUM.
it’s pretty affordable. it’s a small space, so it’s a grab & go type of deal, but it’s worth it. really friendly staff. every time I go here, I’m never disappointed.

Three words: Maple Glaze Bar
I’ve been tasting donuts all over the world. Seriously… a 2am donut in Athens, Greece, once changed my life and turned me into a donut-​craving animal. I just can’t get enough of the crumbly, sugar glazed clouds. And I’ll tell you what… Coco Donuts broke the mold. They make my favorite donuts in the world. Literally.
And it was the maple glaze bar that did me in.

They execute the classics very well (i.e. old fashioned). The lavender doughnut is good to try, the flavor not too strong as if you’re eating soap. Girl also gave me a free doughnut card, which I passed along to a friend to try.
