The coffee was good, not too bitter. Prices were reasonable and they had a good offerings of pastries. Best part is the short lines!!!

The coffee isn’t good, but the people seem nice. Furthermore, their food is probably delicious — but if you’re looking for good, flavorful, un-bitter Portland coffee, this place is a disappointment. I wish they’d just serve stumptown or something …

Princess coffee cake– no better coffee cake in PDX. I hear they do their own baking out of the Freemont location. Im tempted to get a job there so I can be close to this delicacy daily. Kahlua screamer milkshake– oh… best coffee milkshake EVERRRRRR. Im getting ready to move to Sunriver. I can already feel the withdraws starting. The Coffee Cake twitch, the shake shudders. Oh the days of the original Coffee People in the little narrow location on NW23rd. Who was it that ruined that for us? Give me a name! And to the reviewer who wants to carry on about qualitative, measurable features of a milkshake??? Get a grip. I hope you didn’t get any caffeine in you as you would have no doubt made your fellow passengers insane listing to you drivel on. Yes, you go on back to Starbucks the land of burnt coffee and people who will nod at you to make you happy and keep you shut up. Go now.

Located in B terminal, they have good options for vegans. They have either soy or almond milk and I was able to get a vegan blueberry muffin. They also have oatmeal cups. I am a tea drinker, can’t speak to their coffee.

Solid coffee in the Portland airport. The mocha was actually surprisingly good. The coffee is much more flavorful than Starbucks. I would go back!

Wow. What happened to you guys? Bought a latte this morning. Horrible. 2 sips and in the trash it went. I watched it being prepared and having some idea what it takes to make a good latte i could see proper technique was not being applied. When I took the lid of my drink it looked like a really bad cappuccino. I even noticed she put the espresso in after the«foam» was already in my cup. I grew up in Portland and use to love Coffee People, so it’s disappointing to see a good brand go down the tubes. Train your baristas! Sad when your standards are below what the Mermaid offers.

Coffee is too hot to review at this point(while I’m sitting on a plane). But oh my goodness the Oregon Marionberry scone. Totally evaporated the grumpy sleep-deprived attitude I have had this morning. Thank you, Coffee People. My tummy is cheering. Another plus: took a fraction of the time I would have spent waiting in the Starbucks line!

Back in the days, Coffee People could be found all over Portland then they got brought out by Starbucks. The only place I could go to get my Screamer fix was at Portland International Airport. Every time I am at PDX, I need a Screamer even though the diary in the milkshake hurts my tummy. Thank goodness there are two Jim and Patty’s(the original coffee people) location now and I don’t have to make trips to the airport as frequently.

Coffee People is the place to go if you’re on way to the Bay Area… or across the country. They make a wonderful café au lait and café au chocolat. After all, Oregon has perfected coffee into an art form. Before it became a hub for artisanal foods and craft breweries, the coffee shop was the Oregonian sanctum. This Coffee People gets a lot of traffic because it’s right after security. Fun little place before heading wherever you’re headed.

THEBAD: barista man steaming and resteaming his two large backup pitchers of milk. This is the worst latte I have ever had. The actual worst. THEGOOD: a cheerful refund :)

I was quite excited to try this place while waiting for my flight, but I experienced a customer service fail so massive that I had to write a review. I was looking at their frozen/blended coffee beverages and asked the man working there which was the least sweet. He said«uh, I dunno». I tried probing further and said I was surprised that someone who worked there didn’t know which was the least sweet of their product offering. He told me it was a matter of personal preference. I disagreed, and gave an example of how it’s a distinctly qualitative, measurable feature(«which has the least sugar?») and he persisted in telling me it wasn’t, and that it was a personal preference, and that our taste buds are different. I don’t think arguing with a customer is ever okay, but when you’re absolutely incorrect and don’t even know your own product it’s even doubly wrong. The guy said his name was«Kewan»(I’m probably not spelling this right), and I don’t know how he got hired but he certainly shows no interest in his job since it’s not exactly tough to learn the different product offerings and it shouldn’t be difficult to check which of those has the least amount of sweetener. I wanted to like this place, but sadly having a confrontational encounter that was flat out incorrect and argumentative left me reeling and I didn’t buy anything. At least at Starbucks they don’t argue with their customers and can answer the most basic questions about what they’re serving.

Coffee is okay for airport coffee. Nothing really to do a song and dance for, but i guess it beats starbucks. Got a latte and a mocha.

I used to go to coffee people but they have gone down the same path of starbucks with watered coffee. Two shots of espresso in the coffee didn’t make a difference. Both get lower case first letters. Stumptown rates a capital letter.

Soooooo glad they still exist! Black Forest Mocha. Be sure to get the cherry. Where the other people take over the world– this one has better coffee. Really. Skip the lines at the other«green» place– and come here– you won’t regret it!

Super rude staff won’t hand the food over to hand. Just drop it from a height in front of the customer. How classy? The scone itself was pretty dry and tasteless. Coffee was OK.

To complete our outstanding Portland vacation adventure, I decide to try a marionberry scone at this convenient coffee shop in the airport. Considering it was 4:30am and we’d gone to sleep very very late, energy was needed, and quickly! Portland folks, being the friendly and patient people they are, kindly explained to the tourist in this story(that’s me!) that the marionberry is a real fruit, apparently from this area, and similar to a blackberry. It was delicious, especially combined with my quadruple espresso! Thinking quietly to myself… The name of this fruit certainly sounded similar to the controversial crack smoking two time mayor of DC, Marion Barry. I did my thorough research via the magic of the Internet and found there is no relation! That’s a relief! Feel free to enjoy your Marion Berry scone, controversy free! I also learned this berry was created in 1945 via a government funded cross-breeding experiment at Oregon State University! It’s actually named after Marion County, where it was created! Did you need this information in order to enjoy a tasty scone? Doubtful! But, please remember you read it here first!

Portland has amazing coffee. Before my flight out, I seized the opportunity to have one last taste, and ordered a latte. It was shitty. Coffee tasted watered down and had little to no flavor. I’ve had better coffee at a gas station. Almost had a burned taste to it. Was not fresh. No idea how or why this place is open. Heaven forbid this is someone’s first or only taste of Portland’s coffee while on a layover.

Great coffee in an airport? Yes, unbelievable but true. Portland airport is probably my favorite right now, I had two hassle free experiences, did a little shopping and got a great cup of coffee. Thanks to my Unilocal buddy Izzy N. I made sure to order a Velvet Hammer, then I sat back, sipped my coffee and enjoyed the caffeine kick from that sweet, hot, frothy goodness. I can’t wait to fly out of here again. Which I realize will involve flying in and that is fine with me. Coffee People, you are my people.
