I cant review Comcast, but everything written here goes perfectly for Century Link.
Ugh.

Stuck with this cable company. The store itself has very good employees. I got an upgraded box and saved money on my bill but… The company however. Slow internet, terrible new screen menus, outsourced online help that transfers you from chat room to chat room and then still can’t help you and transfers you again. I can’t access the shows I want online or on the app. Hard to use website. Hard to use app that is missing shows.

I’ve been a Comcast xfinity customer for 25 years. Now I’m finally fed up. Just totally overwhelmed by the time wasted and the frustration in dealing with these people. We recently got the home security system installed. The technicians who installed it were very nice and seemed to know what they are doing. Then after they left it all fell apart. The home security system totally stinks. The app functions intermittently. But the biggest problem is getting someone on the phone who can actually help us get this fixed. I’ve wasted hours on the phone with various CSR’s including several based in Mexico and St. Louis and they are all totally incompetent. All we want is to get a technician out to our to fix this problem!!! Today — we thought we had a technician scheduled. We waited the usual many hours and instead a courier shows up to take away our router? WTF? Now I’m on hold again trying to get a technician to come to our house to fix this crazy home security WIFI system, after 25 years as a customer I wrongly assumed I’d get the help I need. If anyone from Comcast actually reads this review — CENTURY LINK is looking pretty good right now. And now I’m being told that there are no appointments available for a technician to come to my house this week. What a waste this home security system is. And geez the time wasted on the phone that I will never get back. 25 years as a customer — amazing how these people act like they could care less.

Astonishing level of professional confusion, incompetence and disservice. How Comcast got the monopoly on cable Internet service is a mystery.

After looking for any other possible internet option, and realizing there was absolutely none… I called Xfinity. My house was a business they said. No it’s not. Yes it is. No it’s not. They said, we can start an investigation that will take at least a week. So I thought maybe the local people can help. I walked into the Sandy Blvd location (old Hollywood video store) and it was so nice. The guy at the reception desk, was friendly and quickly took my name to put me in line. My name was called after about 10 minutes. With one super fast phone call, my house was a house again (owner from 10 years ago ran a business here apparently). He gave me my options and I picked 75mbps which was the same price I saw online (that the website said I couldn’t get because I was a business). My installation was scheduled for the next week. Today the serviceman came. He was professional –even wore booties when walking on my carpet – and put the cable exactly where I asked. My speed is faster than ordered so far on both my Ethernet connected desktop and my WiFi connected laptop.
I wish I would have done this years ago. If you do, I recommend going into the local office and buying your own equipment — research for the best modem and routers, makes a world of difference.

After a very long-​term hatred of comcast’s world-​renowned customer «dis“service, my trusty roomate set out to transfer our internet over to him. I jokingly said that we should punch eachother in the face just so anything that happened here would seem better by comparison. Bracing ourselves for the worst, we walk in and are immediately greeted by smiling happy check-​in people who put us in the queue for service. We are directed to the beautifully remodeled (naturally lit) comfortable waiting area, and after 10 minutes we are called, served perfectly in a friendly manner and leave the store having achieved our goal. We high-​fived eachother and walked away happy. I’m going to buy a lottery ticket, since its a topsy-​turvy world out there.

Took an hour of my morning just to reach someone on the phone for connection problems. Was told they would send someone out in 5 days and could not come sooner. By then I will have been without internet at my home (where I work from) for one full week. Terrible customer service, if you can reach anyone.

Before moving to OR, paid my last bill and turned my equipment in, getting a confirmation number for the former and a receipt for the latter. Today I received a letter stating that because my $ 8.70 final payment was ‘returned,’ I now owe $ 33 and change. I never rec’d word from Comcast since making that payment three weeks ago, nor have I rec’d notice from my bank stating an overdraft of any kind — at any time. What a bunch of scammers or should I say, thugs! If they’re so frkn desperate that they need to strong arm folks for piddling payments, then all I can say is, keep it up Comcast because soon you’ll be going under. Thought their only lying tactic before was in their advertising — I see now, they’ve expanded.

Well, it’s disappointing, if not surprising based on other reviews. Comcast failed to live up to the promised package; charging us equipment fees and taxes they had specifically said we wouldn’t be charged, a higher amount for installation, not activating our premium channel, and claiming a contract 2x as long.
Here’s hoping that they will straighten out, but so far the message from Tamika at the local office has been «That’s what I told you.»

Comcast just keeps getting worse, they try to upsell you at every step .ahhh come on century link get to my area.

Unacceptable customer service and uneducated employees. Called 9÷9÷15 requesting previous months bill as never recs. Was assured it would be sent. Called back ⁹⁄₁₆ no copy reds. Spoke with different people like Merla, Mann, John… very unhelpful now state they cannot send out copy of billing me Ed recd but instead must go to online site or to local store. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE… never recd prev mos billing and they are unwilling to help
Someone needs to clean house af COMCAST and hire employees that are willing to help as these people aren’t.and there are no local numbers to call …
They are ripping everyone off with their high fees and yet cannot or will not helpmate customers. UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I’m going to keep this pretty short and sweet. This place, hands down consistently delivers THE WORST customer service each and every time I’ve walked in there. The staff is clearly underpaid, mistreated and disrespected that they get away with fishing the same crap to their «customers». Hey, dude at the bill pay counter, I’ve interacted with you three times and you pretty much suck! Last time I asked to speak with a manager because I was so over his arrogant attitude. His response, «what is there to talk about?» Dude, you need not just a new job, but therapy.

Not very impressed so far. I’m supposed to be able to get a discount on internet service by contacting one of the xfinity representatives through my apartment management group. I’ve called the rep 3 times in the past few days, leaving a message twice and still have not heard anything back. I would think that if a potential new client and sale calls in, you’d want to be on top of that. If they cant get back to me when I’m trying to give them my business, i don’t want to find out what their customer service is with existing customers.
Maybe the rep is on vacation… but then he should at least change his voice mail to inform his clients when they call in.
Needless to say, I’ll be looking for an internet provider elsewhere.

Guy was nice and tried to help me out, but didn’t give me the cable I needed so had to return to get what he forgot. 5 phone calls layer to idiots in another country and I want to toss all the shit in the river. Time to switch to DISH. Service center is a bunch of dip shits in God knows where I hate COMCAST and am selling my stock Monday.

What you get in this store is sort of the exact opposite of what you get in an Apple store.
I came here to return 2 cable boxes. I have read online that you should always get a receipt for returned equipment from Comcast because they have a history of claiming returned equipment wasn’t returned and the customer gets charged.
The woman at the front desk (I was here on Aug 13, 2015) refused to give me a receipt. «You don’t need one,» she said. I told her I do need one. She said no. I asked to speak to someone else who grudgingly gave me a receipt. Both people were rude and arrogant. Major FAIL on the experience of going to this store.

i think it goes without saying that Comcast is like a third world nation’s government. They control the reality that the people have to live with and it is anything but satisfying. I moved from Seattle to Portland and was told I could move my equipment using their moving service. Sounds easy, right? But when I tried to follow through, the first call took 1 hour and 48 minutes of being on hold. yes true. Then, I received several emails saying I need to confirm my move, i called three times and was told, everything was set i was good to go. On the installation day, I tried to plug and play as I was told I could but after another three hours of call, one to a lady that kept calling me «, mam» I was told my equipment needed to be replaced after-​all. No way? Finally, I got switched to someone that said with confidence «I will fix your problem, today» I was told they had shut off my old modem so i need new equipment and to go to the service center or they would send overnight. I opted for overnight. Hmm next day. nothing. I am without service, and wasted a day of my life. So. like a government that pretends to have its people interests in mind as they steal from them and lie to them. so is the way of Comcast. Run don’t walk to fire escape, find any alternative, give up your first born. but do not buy Comcast’s BS.
Update: today one day later than assured my equipment arrived. When I tried to activate the modem that was sent to me my comcast infinity, I was told that it could not because it was assigned to another customer. So their solution, send it back and we’ll send another. So, now, another weekend will pass and I will be without internet. head the warning. i should have but did not.

Comcast is a terrible company. I have been a business customer for over 4 years. I found out yesterday that I have been paying $ 90 a month more than the service is worth because I was on an old contract. The rep told me that the plan changed at the beginning of the year so that is over $ 600 that I overpaid by being a loyal customer. I asked why the plan did not automatically change, they said it was my responsibility to call in every 6 months and check. Well as a small business owner I have enough on my plate to do and calling Comcast is not high on my list.
Oh and by the way to find out this information I have to be transferred 4 times. If I ran my company the way Comcast runs theirs I would be out of business, but I guess that is the big different between us little guys/​gals and the big machines.

RIPPED OFF! Very disappointed! Today I initiated a promo ($ 24.99 /​50Mbps /​no contract /​sounds good) for internet service with a sales person by phone. I asked which modem I would get and she gave me the DPC3939, a dual band which switches between 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz automatically. When I picked up equipment at the Sandy Blvd. location, I was switched on the modem to the TC8305 which is 2.4 GHz only. I asked for the 3939 model but the sales person assured me that the 8305 model was even faster.
When I got home, I looked up the specs on the 8305, which is only 2.4 GHz & slower. So, I was fed baloney so I am canceling activation and internet service. Fed up with Comcast – seems every time I talk with them, I never get the same answer /​information from different agents. GET IT TOGETHER COMCAST!
It is the last straw in a long series of issues with the service, mostly with cable sales. I am tired of mis-​information from Comcast! PERIOD.
PLEASE RECOMMEND WHERE I CAN GET A RELIABLE & HOINES INTERNET SERVICE IN PORTLAND 97 209 AREA. OUT!

The fact that an employee was not given the power to fix my problem is absurd. I hope you treat your employees better than your customers. While the rep was nice, they were clearly very scripted and could not actually help much.
I was charged two «install fees» when transferring services — not only was I not told there would be a charge when I spoke to the person who setup the transfer over the phone but Comcast literally did nothing. I took my own modem and your cable box to the new apartment and set it up. I then tried to upgrade my service at the store and ended up having to drive back because the first employee was too incompetent to do what was requested. The chat rep offered a partial credit but could not offer the full credit. They «requested» it but it was denied.
And this! This is a direct quote from the chat:
«Comcast Rep: The installation fee is just a one time charge to make sure your internet is connected correctly. This is because the lines for your internet has been long inactive. With this you will then have no problem with your Internet service.
Comcast Rep: However, your video installation charged was invalid since you owned the modem. The charge of $ 15 can be credited in your account.» «
A MODEM has nothing to do with VIDEO installation. What in the world?! This makes zero sense.
Comcast is a horrible company and it’s a shame you are one of the only providers of TV in the Portland area. I would prefer to not have TV than to have to deal with Comcast. I will be looking for another provider or just cancelling TV services all together. You don’t deserve my money.
