The atmosphere was nice for the most part, except for the really loud blonde bartender talking smack about customers that come in. She was speaking so loudly that we couldn’t have a decent conversation over her. The drinks were light and my whiskey sour tasted like straight pineapple juice. I would not recommend just because of the staff.

I like this bar. Friendly bar staff with nice pours. I work as a cook in another bar on the same block and often come here on my breaks for medicinal alcohol. I don’t recommend jello shots but they will put whip crème on them here if you ask for it «deluxe». Strange art on the walls which is good for staring at while you are contemplating the mysteries of life. You could definitely do worse than come here. There are 5 bars within a block of here so you really can’t go wrong no matter what you are looking for.

Dive Done Right! A Sellwood special! Get’er done here, because there’s fewer of these around anymore with Sellwood/Moreland is becoming more an more upper class town. Back when this area was far more working class, a local bar you could walk to was a welcome sight. It wasn’t always the Cosmo Lounge. It was under the original name Pogo’s with it’s classic sign that I do miss. However, times change, and they’ve done a nice job here. They have a decent selection of taps, but also a plethora of bottled beers for such a small place. Quite a surprise. Servers care, and if you’re a regular, you’re well taken care of here. Its classy cool inside with old school booths, pool table room, and decorations that verge of hipster. I’m not inclined to eat here, but it’s certainly one of a few options I choose for a fun drink out at a classic place. Give it a try. If you’re on a pub crawl… crawl on over here!

Cool little hip bar. The girls have done a great job with this place. So much better than Pogo’s and decent drinks.

I really wanted to like this place. However, the beer was kind of expensive for the divey atmosphere($ 21 for 3 pints before tip) and the service was not good at all. The bartender gave me the wrong beers and when I tried to correct her she said that was what I ordered and didn’t offer to change it– pretty rude to boot. I am pretty sure I know what I ordered! They do get a few stars for having delicious JELLO shots, a jukebox, and some fun décor.

Fantastic 3 minute fresh from the fryer tater tots. Also fantastic was the Hopworks seasonal ale. Although HUB is who gets the credit for the beer and Cosmo gets the credit for buying and serving it. The service I got frmo the bartender was great, but when my friend set his beer down on the bar and walked away to take a phone call and it got knocked over by someone else, I’d have thought the bartender would have filled another ½ glass for my friend, as a courtesy. She didn’t. This is a perfect place to get some really great grub before or after seeing a movie at the Moreland Theater, which is directly across the street. Parking is also free in the neighborhoods surrounding it. If you park on a side street, you don’t have a time limit either. For now. Who knows when the city will ruin that. It’s a little dark and seedy, but sometimes, the unpretentuousness about it is exactly what I am looking for. I see a lot of movies at the theater, so I was happy to discover this new little gem. For neighborhood bar-bouncers, there are a few other cool brewery-pub eateries, dive bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Fun little place! They have about 5 or 6 video poker machines, a pin-ball machine, a multi-game arcade table & a cool photo booth($ 4, quality of the photos were not that great & takes cards only) I had a peach iced tea, which was good & had quite a bit of liquor for $ 6! Love the décor & the bartender was nice!

classic local dive bar. cheap drinks, heavy pours, friendly crowd and bartenders. during my visit to portland and staying in suburbia, this was around the corner from us and we went two nights during the visit. there isnt too much to say other than the bartender is very accommodating and my makers and ginger ale were well made. if you are going outside to smoke there is a few patios and you are allowed to take your drinks out there. but beware the local portlanders loitering around who want to tell you their tragic life stories…

Excellent bartenders. Very friendly. Jello-Shots are very popular. Bathroom is pretty scary as it looks like it may be a breeding ground for the Ebola virus.

Neat little dive bar hidden away in Sellwood. Bartenders were both very nice and chatty, and they have a nice assortment of beers on tap. The velvet paintings are a nice touch, too. I don’t make it that way often, but I’d be down to stop in again.

Been going to this bar since around January. I love the quiet atmosphere sometimes, as well as Sunday night movie nights… What’s better than Beer and a movie to just end the weekend? Everyone is really nice and it’s very affordable!

It’s a small bar with a lot of space given over to video lottery and karaōke. Fortunately the karaōke is in a separate room, a nice, thick curtain would limit the infestation. Unfortunately they didn’t have one. The bartenders were pretty nice and very attentive. They had a chili dog on the board that I was eyeing, but probably fortunately for me we left before I ordered it. Overall a solid local place. I’d come back if I was nearby, especially if the KJ was absent.

Great service, pretty okay bar food and good drinks. I really like the bartenders here. They pay attention to the room and make sure everyone has what they need. Service Industry Discount! Take your server’s permit if you’ve got it. Seriously, my fav in that neck of Sellwood.

I came her with one of my best friend’s one afternoon after lunch since we were looking for a dive to grab a quick drink. The place is pretty much a dump, but we weren’t looking for anything fancy so it worked out. The two best things about this bar were the friendly bartender and the Jello Shots($ 1!). This is totally my kind of place to chill out with no judgment.

Some people are crazy! I have been trying to get my money from The Cosmo Lounge in Sellwood for a week now. I ordered one drink and left a dollar tip making my total $ 4.50. «Somehow» I was charged $ 14.50! I finally called for the 4th time tonight and supposedly talked to the owner. She said they were happy to give me my money back, but than continued to try to convince me that I did tip that much and that there was no way that her employees would do that. She kept going and going, seriously talking over me and practically yelling at me, and I kept saying that I really didn’t care what she thought, I just wanted my money back and to get off the phone! She actually said she could get out the video so we could look, but it was because she wanted to prove to me that I was wrong! What happened to the costumer is always right! So unprofessional!

I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this tiny bar in Sellwood. I recognized the bartender that use to work at Renner’s in Multnomah Village and after she said that I noticed that this space kind of resembled Renner’s. It’s friendly, a little gritty, tator tots, two picnic tables out front and good beer on tap.(Mac and Jacks) So, I most definitely suggest coming here rather than visiting the shit-hole across the street, The Limelight.

My partner and i decide to check this place out. Being a bit nervous we peeked in the window and though it looked fun. The décor was throw-back retro. Velevet pictures, pin up girls pictures, and posters for b-movies. Being the holiday time we enjhoys some great holiday drinks some that that the bartender designed for us specially. The bartender was a great young lady in her 20;s who just had the perfect attitude and made the whole night a lot of fun :) check it out you will not be disappointed.

This is quickly becoming my favorite bar of my neighborhood. You can usually fit a decently large group there, and it’s cheap enough to stick around a while in. The drinks are cheap, and the service is spectacular. The bartenders are all really amazing nice, make strong drinks, and put up with a lot of bullshit. They have jello shots! Yeah, Jello shots. For a dollar. It’s virtually impossible to pass up. The food just fine for a bar. I think there are tots. Yes. definitely tots. Anyway, the place is a must go if you’re in the Sellwood-Moreland area.

I’d really like to write a more in-depth review of this joint, but my mind is just a bit fuzzy when it comes to trying to remember as much as I can about this place. You see, I’ve only been here once, and it was to celebrate my beer-league softball team’s Opening Day victory. So, allow my Cliff’s Notes to be of some assistance: –Casey, our bartender, was very kind and efficent, especially for having to deal with a bunch of softball hooligans –Above-average beer selection, of both cans, bottles, and on-tap –Hi-Def TVs, video lottery, pinball(and possibly pool and/or darts, but like I said, fuzzy memory on my behalf) –dimly-lit atmosphere, kind of like Bar of the Gods I’d really like to make a return to this joint, maybe at night next time since I’m not a huge day-drinker. I’d like to give it five stars, but will have to make a return to do so.

Formerly Pogo’s, a shit-hole of epic proportions and a Sellwood mainstay, they’ve reincarnated as Cosmos(just swapped a few letters in that name, really) and I like it! There are super creepy velvet paintings lining the walls. The tunes are good. They pour a very stiff drink. PINBALL. We were assured that a photo booth is coming soon. The bartender, while charming and adorable is completely absent-minded and messed up about 50% of all of our drink orders but was very funny and then overly-accommodating to fix it. Food ordered? He totally forgot, never put it in, but then gave us a few bucks off of our bill in the end when we needed to leave sans snacks. Really nice and very funny, but super flighty. Another bartender we’d had there was brand new(it was her first day!), similarly flighty but equally as nice. Food options are a handful of fried junk food(poppers, mozzarella sticks, tots) and a couple of simple sandwiches. I may have spied a fish and chips option on the menu, but this isn’t really a place you want to go for dinner. I’ll be back for the pinball. I smell a Pinball: Sellwood Edition list in the works…
