The Good: The osso bucco was amazing and the waitress was very friendly. We were able to get right in on a busy night The Bad: A great deal of homeless and vagrant population in this area at night. My wife and I were verbally berated when we declined a pan handler right outside the door. Not what I would consider a safe area of downtown

Stopped here for a drink and a hors d’œuvre and was pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere, reasonable pricing tasty!

If you like your Mac’n’cheese without the bacon and bread crumbs, you’re at the right place. And it’s made with three different cheeses. Oh, yes, please!

Taking an evening to explore downtime and we came here based on all the reviews. So glad we did you walk in and the ambiance grabs you, high ceilings with massive beams and incredible Windows to enjoy city life while warm and dry. We tried the oysters, mussels and burger off the happy hour menu. The mussels were incredible and came with bread for dipping just yum. The burger was rock solid as well. The description is an odd flavor profile… Just go with it you will not be disappointed. The rest of our meal and the generous pours made this a foodie night to remember, just go you will have a great meal

This is a fantastic little spot! I made reservations but got there a bit early and they still sat us right away. The servers were absolutely fantastic– especially the manager, Adriana. The cocktails were on point– and most importantly they came quickly. They also hooked up some great vegetarian options for me. Perfect, quality, comfortable tavern. I highly recommend.

I recently had lunch at the Davis Street Tavern. I did not get a chance to eat the food, although my cup of coffee was decent and I have enjoyed the food there in the past. I also have enjoyed the atmosphere on previous times there. Unfortunately, the service was very poor on my most recent visit. The Davis Street Tavern apparently allows the TV show«What would you do?» to use their restaurant as a filming location. Without my initial knowledge or consent, they attempted to include me in an episode in which I was involved in a mock drama between a homeless customer and a bartender who were both in fact paid actors. I did not appreciate being treated this way in a restaurant where I had come to have a lunch meeting. I will not be visiting the restaurant again.

My first visit to Portland Organ thought I would checkout one of the local spots. Decided on «Davis Street Tavern» not your typical tavern, it’s very upscale, light and bright. The servers are excellent and very friendly. Bartenders are very attentive and won’t leave you hanging, drinks are good and strong. We took advantage of the Happy Hour menu and enjoyed ourselves immensely. No complaints here this is a restaurant that deserves five stars.

Looks like a nice place to eat. Sat there for 10 minutes with no service. Pretty lame cause the staff was just standing around talking so we just ended up leaving.

Second time here… The first time, I went here for a friend’s happy hour b-day celebration and they were some complaints about the service even though we sure did spent a lot of money by ordering many of the happy hour items and tons of drinks, but the staff was rude and not very willing to ensure that our group had a good time… and they were not accommodating to our friends with a baby. Even though we had specifically called ahead to check if it was going to be okay. We ended up leaving here to go to another place with a friendlier atmosphere… Today, I really wanted to like this place because they have great menu selections and a gorgeous space. While the food is good, the service is not so much, which makes the food not worth it. This is Portland, with so many great places to eat, who needs servers that think and act like it’s all about them(Really, you could of asked the cook to cook my burger for 2 more minutes, I was not asking to modify my burger… and you could of ask me if I wanted another beer… because I did…) I went here for burger week and while the burger was good enough for $ 5(other places are really upping their game this year,… so many great burgers, so little time and limited arteries…), the service again failed. So, my advise is go somewhere else if you want to enjoy a good meal and good service. I feel like service can really make or break a meal… sorry chefs and cooking staff… Needless to say, I won’t be coming back again.

Had the special burger week Yucatan Burger and a butter lettuce salad; 4 star. It was absolutely perfect! Service was 4 star. Thank you for the great food and service! 2.5 star because the table was very sticky. They need to use soap and thoroughly remove the sticky residue off the tables.

Stopped by Davis Street Tavern for after dinner drinks, so not much to report on by way of food, though we were tempted to order to velvety mac & cheese. DST is a gorgeous restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. My boyfriend & I wanted to come back to try out their menu, but they were closed on Sunday, so I hope to stop by next time we’re in town.

The food here at Happy Hour was amazing. Portland rules as far as great food, we know this to be true, but even amid a very long list of outstanding eateries, this one stands out — further. Innovative and inspiring dishes are the norm. Nothing we tried off their reasonably extensive HH menu was ‘average’. The mac and cheese rocked my world, as did the steak frites, sautéed cauliflower and the green beans with its awesome dipping sauce. The butter lettuce salad was perfect. The burger was also unique and delectable. We are new to PDX but are sure to become regulars here! Oh, our server, Casey, kicked my butt on challenges. When I asked him to hold the goat cheese on my salad, he asked why. I told him I’m not a cheese adventurer, I only like the very basics and he said, ‘hmm. ok’. Then when I tasted the mac & cheese — and totally fell in love — he had 2 sassy words for me: GOATCHEESE! And that was the start of a great relationship.

Davis Street Tavern was my first taste of Portland. The décor featuring a high ceiling and cozy seating is both open and intimate. The server skillfully assisted me in touring the cocktail menu. My choice, the Cheeky Monkey, was refreshing & delicious-exactly what I wanted. The Angus burger was cooked perfectly to taste. The highlight though was the Brandy and Brown Sugar Bread Pudding. I had such remorse for having to leave a few spoonfuls behind, but I’d already indulged to capacity.

I used to LOVE Davis Street Tavern. The owner is great and recently opened Garden Bar which is amazing. I can’t stay away from Davis Street because of the Mac and Cheese. It’s amazing, I’ve even requested the recipe and they were open about the ingredients. Tonight’s Friday dinner with 5 people left a lot to be desired. It was slow but took forever to get food. The AC was blasting in 60 degree weather. The bathroom is disgusting, it smells like poop, toilet paper was all over, toilets were dirty, and the faucet water was only cold, finally the stall doors are falling apart. Davis Street needs to pick up its game for me to return.

A little on the pretentious side of dinning for Portland. Portions are small and the prices are a touch above average. Also not a good option for vegetarians or vegans. I had a hard time finding a selection. You’re basically stuck ordering a salad.

did you say Davis Street for Happy Hour –count me in! I’ve been recommending/liking Davis Street for their Happy Hour and Late Night Eats for far too long to have not left a review. Real Talk:] I haven’t had a complete dinner dinning experience here, however I have been here plenty and really enjoy meeting here for beloved HH. The mood is dimly lit, the exposed brick gives the modern industrial feel, seating is available at the bar, and they have plenty of wiggle room at the tables. Not only does the menu have a great variety of american cuisine but they also offer some rotating specials like osso bucco! Lastly to keep this place in the«nicer» category they are a typical restaurant set up: a hostess to seat you, and waiter to serve you. The Happy Hour Situation:] Monday through Friday 4p to 6p //Saturday 3p to 5p Yums! one main reason I never ever come for dinner is because the Happy Hour is so dang great, why miss it? The serving sizes are just right for overindulging on guilty pleasure, s and the price point matches with the happiest of hours. expect $ 2 oysters & My personal faves: $ 6 mac n cheese: with their velvety bechamel sauce and spiral noodles cooked to al dente perfection. a regular sized $ 8 burger with tasty tomato bacon jam, aioli spread and the usual suspects: cheese and bacon. Plus Frites that have been shoe stringed and fried to crispy perfection. Oh and please order the steak frites if it’s available, it’s pretty much a perfect harmony of tender, juicy, and savory! The Drinks on HH are a little slim for us beer lovers with only 2 drafts available on HH price -$ 4. however, this isn’t the end of the world, buck up a few more bucks and have more choices to drink from, you still have a choice of $ 5 red and white wines, and sparkling cava! Honorable Mention:] They are pretty cool about seating partial parties which is great when you’re trying to beat the HH time stamp. They have the room to support larger parties and the tables are modular so let them play table tetras and host your next birthday here! & Desserts ;a O my crème brûlée! and fresh baked to order salted caramel, almond, and chocolate chip cookies served with a makers mark milk shake, oh delicious childhood sweets with some grown up attitude!
