I chose Eastside Vision Source because it’s close to home, and they accept my insurance. The office is located in a renovated house. They had a fire blazing, which was a perk on a rainy day. The waiting area is furnished with comfortable couches and reading materials. It is definitely a relaxing waiting room compared to most doctor offices. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. She took me back to complete some of the pre-exams before passing me on to the doctor for my thorough one. Dr. Berk didn’t talk much, but when I asked a question, he had an answer. Once you’ve finished your exam, you can go to a room in back and try on frames. The expensive ones are displayed, but you can also request some more affordable options and the gal will pull out some other frames. I believe these are the«bundle options,» but I did not learn about them until I realized that my insurance only covered the cost of my exam and that the frames were pricey! If you’re in the same boat, be sure to ask for all of your options.
