I’ve gotten lasered here regularly and while Josefina’s work is perfection, I’d never gotten my hair done since I usually do it at home or go to Aveda. I’ve only recently gone back to salons and I’m still not persuaded their quality is the best. However, my roots hadn’t been done in over two months and I was well overdue for a touch-​up.
My stylist was super sweet, and I left looking great, but I was surprised when the dye applied to my roots started to make my scalp itch like crazy. I have a fragrance allergy, and I’ve never had a reaction to hair dye, but we couldn’t figure out what was causing this. It was so bad I was asking her to take it out, but she really wanted the dye to set and asked if I could sit through it. I managed somehow, and the color came out fine, but I’m sticking to my Clairol box from here on out.
The last time I got my hair done professionally, I loved it, but the hair dye started to stain my fingernails. The same thing happened here and my nails have been stained a pale blue with dark crud under them whenever I touch my hair. This hasn’t been a problem when I’ve used Clairol, so I unfortunately remain unconvinced this is something I need to spend so much money and time on, when the results from a drugstore brand are what I should be expecting from the salon.
I also told my stylist I’d had a perm so I didn’t want a blow-​out, but it still got blown out with curls applied via straightener. Again, she was very nice, but there are too many stylists who feel very «mama knows best» about their role. I’m still looking for a local stylist who trust their client knows best. It’s the best way to keep my business.

I love Glow! I have been twice recently to have my hair done by Eryca! She took my hair from brown to red and I love it! She is very professional and so amazing at what she does! I highly recommend her!

First time coming into Glow Boutique and Natalie did an awesome job on my hair. Nailed the color, nailed the cut, everything! Just how I wanted it.
She is really good at listening to what your expectations are and what you want first before moving on with anything else.

I absolutely LOVE my haircut by Georgina. not only was she super friendly, but she looked at pictures, discussed my haircut at length, cut my extremely thick hair with precision, and gave me exactly what I was looking for: a creative, inspired cut. she’s amazing! bonus: I didn’t get color this time around, but she’s killer with the vibrant colors. go see her!

Had a great experience. Was greeted immediately and was asked if I wanted anything to drink (I had coffee). My stylist Theresa was very friendly and helped choose a cut and style for my very curly hair. I went in with a few ideas for hair color, but she persuaded me with a different color that would better suit my complexion and natural hair color. Everyone has complimented me on the length and color she choose. The best part was definitely the shampooing process, she was very through and it was relaxing. Even months after my appointment I still get compliments about my color, can’t wait to go again.

Go see Georgina! She is a miracle worker. She did an intense color correction on me and not only did my hair turn out beautifully, my hair feels amazing due to her recommending a good deep conditioning treatment as well. I highly recommend seeing her if you need your hair spruced up or wanting any color, she is very professional and talented! The facility is also very nice and clean, organized too. The staff was very welcoming and offered me a beverage upon arrival. Can’t beat that!

It’s been a couple days now since my haircut with Theresa and I couldn’t be happier. I have wavy/​curly hair and I do minimal hair products so it’s hard to find a hair stylist that will create a perfect cut that will work with my low maintenance style. My hair looked amaze balls after the cut, but it was all styled and groomed by Theresa’s hands, so I was skeptical. Three days later, after I’ve washed it and given it it’s three minute attention it still looks great! Perfect length and face framing. Plus, the salon is clean, friendly and have my favorite kind of kombucha.

I have really fine/​thin hair and I’ve always had a hard time figuring out what to do with it. Recently I’ve been wanting to chop it, so I gathered a few inspirational pictures on Pinterest. I showed them to Holly, and she totally nailed it. This is the happiest I’ve been with a haircut in a long, long time! Since I’m visiting from out of town, she also gave me a ton of great suggestions for places to check out in the area. Now I’m a little sad that I’m not a local — this would definitely be my go-​to salon if I were!

I’ve been going to Glow Boutique to see Sarah for the last three years and she has been so amazing! She really takes the time to go over your hair inspirations and talk through every step in the process to getting the perfect end result. LOVE HER!

Let me start this off by saying I had my hair colored here 3 weeks ago by Sarah. I went in with an open mind and just needed highlights. I showed Sarah a photo of what I wanted and it required bleach and A FEW brown lowlights. After two hours in the chair, I was a brunette. I walked into the salon as a blonde. Now the panic set in. She placed more lowlights in than hi lights! I told the stylist several times I wanted to be much blonder than I was the entire time she was placing the foils. I didn’t want to leave the salon looking that way and she said she couldn’t fix it. As I was expressing my concerns, the receptionist overheard and asked what was going on. I showed her the photo on my phone and she was shocked. She remembered me walking in to the appointment and it didn’t look anything like the photo. The receptionist ended up spending two more hours trying to fix it after Sarah had to run off because she felt so bad. The end result was OK but nothing like I wanted. I do not have thick hair to begin with but the amount of hair loss I have experienced is traumatizing. I have no idea how the original stylist is working here. I’m not sure if she needs additional training. Words cannot express how this salon ruined my hair and especially my confidence.

I booked an appointment for my husband to get a haircut yesterday. Checked the website to make sure they were open on Sunday. Their website says they are open «by appointment.» My husband showed up for his appointment and waited… nothing. Called earlier today to speak to the manager. I was told she was busy and would call me back. Nothing. I had planned to go here to get my hair colored. Good thing there are lots of other salons around.

Alex Zanrosso is super talented and fun. She listens and is great company. I’m so pleased with my cut and my gloss. Glow is very cute and has great products. Go see Alex!

Alex Zanrosso at Glow Boutique is a miracle worker! I wouldn’t trust my extremely long hair with anyone except for her. I’ve literally had my hair cut by only her (because I trust no one else) exclusively, for the last three years. She listens to what you want and is happy to give you EXACTLY what you’re looking for.
I’ve referred many girlfriends to her who need color (especially blondes) because she truly has a gift when it comes to color. They’ve always looked fabulous and return time and time again.

If you want to go bold, and you really want someone who has a lot of knowledge, go to Amanda Reule here at Glow! She brought me up to a very light blonde from previously dyed dark brown hair in one day with no damage, and I’m super happy. She’s also affordable unlike a lot of hairstylists in town who are less talented, and are way overpriced. I’m also a hairstylist… I’ve met and worked with a lot of them, and she is exceptional.

What a great experience I had a Glow Salon yesterday! I’m new to Portland and was facing that awful task of finding a new stylist that I liked. I had walked in a couple of weeks earlier and told them I was looking for a stylist who could do both color and keratin. They suggested I book with Amanda.
Amanda recently came here from New York. She is clearly a very knowledgeable and experienced professional. She had a 6 week waiting list in New York. I was impressed by her easy manner, understanding of my color formula (from my old stylist) and her wisdom about keratin — both the regular and express. My color turned out perfect and she cut and blew it out even cuter than my former person.
I have already booked my next appointment with Amanda. And, Sampson at the front desk was on the spot with the initial recommendation and coffee for my morning appointment. I have found my salon!

Emily is absolutely wonderful! My hair looks amazing and she deserves all 5 stars and more. They offer drinks, have a good magazine selection, and parking along the street is pretty easy to find.

My husband and i had our hair done together here just last week — I absolutely loved the environment, music and complimentary wine!
