How cute is this place? No, it doesn’t have the selection of some of the bigger markets. There are only a few booths and if you’re after one certain vegetable they might not have it. But, everything is grown in Portland, and you can get some pretty unusual stuff, like asparagus peas and radish pods. I recommend the asparagus peas, by the way. Everyone I’ve met there is ridiculously friendly and will talk to you about the produce they are selling for ages. Plus, it’s a market for those of us who cannot possibly leave their homes before noon on the weekends. The PSU Market is nice but I am rarely out of my pajamas by the time they close.
Silly D.

This is about as grass-roots as it gets. Urban farmers who operate in networks of yards and other small farms in SE Portland get together every week with a riot of Ultra-local produce, flowers, free music, and other locally made goods to sell and barter. It’s a hoot and the produce couldn’t get any fresher! Every Sunday at 43rd and the ‘thorne from 1−6pm. This is where SE is making the future of food happen.
