I contacted this store over a year ago because I wanted to buy a Valor fireplace and wanted to support a small family owned business, and they seemed like a great little store.
First, they don’t really return calls and emails. I’m talking about over a period of multiple weeks, and several tries to finally get a response, and I always gave them the benefit of the doubt. I went to the store in person and asked about getting the gunmetal finishes painted black, and she basically shrugged and said that the installer could get a can for $ 5 and do it himself. I got the feeling that all she wanted to do was place the order. The installer they recommended also didn’t want to work on our house because we had to run a long gas line from the other side– he claimed it couldn’t be done (it could)!
I can’t imagine if their service was this bad before I made a purchase, how it would be if I required warranty service. We ended up getting our Valor elsewhere, and they worked with us on the black finishes and even building a custom riser. It took me a long time to decide whether to write this review, but the service was really so awful that I feel that I should say something.
