I had what I thought was plantar fasciitis causing constant — and sometimes excruciatingly sharp — pain in my right foot. Dr. Dean was able to quickly pinpoint (as in one visit!) the source of the pain, which was actually nerve/​scar tissue damage in my right leg (due to a broken leg suffered 10 years ago).
I only visited the good doctor twice, and, with continual exercise and massage along the source area, my foot pain has thankfully progressed from substantial and consistent to relatively minor and occasional.

. An accomplished runner himself he got right to the point and started working on my ankle as soon as I said OTQ. He gave me a number of useful exercises to use and had me back on my feet in almost zero to 1. I highly recommend him to all runners!

Dr. Dean is very knowledgeable and caring. I went to see him for about 5 months in order to recover from a car accident and got excellent care. He really focused on helping me recover and had my best interest in mind. I was pleasantly surprised that one of his healing methods is to change how his patients move and not simply to adjust them every visit. I really appreciated how much he listened and responded to how my body was changing during the healing process.

My husband has been struggling with off and on back pain from his physical labor jobs. I have had many wonderful experiences at Hawthorne Wellness (thanks to Dr. Kelly Owens) so I referred my husband to check out a chiropractor. He is so skeptical of doctors so when I say he thoroughly appreciated Dr. Dean’s «magic», that says A LOT! Dr. Dean doesn’t temporarily fix you like many chiropractors do. He explained why my husband was hurting, how easily it could be helped and showed him exercises that would help improve his pain along with the proper body movement techniques (that he tailored to my husbands job) to not get the pain again. At the last visit, He even helped my husbands knee pain!
Dr. Dean listened well, blew our minds with plentiful information and was incredibly reassuring. My husband just said (as I’m writing this), «my back feels great this morning AND my knees. Usually the mornings I hurt the worst.»

After 4 months of struggling with intense pain stabs and overal tension in my knee and side of the leg, my therapist referred me to Dr. Dean. I have been an active person all my life but couldn’t even walk normally anymore before I saw him. Dr. Dean listened to my story, had me do several exercises and movements and immediately did his «magic». His adjustments and other treatment methods took out all the tension and pain during that first visit, not only was the pain gone but also he explained me very clearly what was the problem (nerve irritation), how it happened and he taught me exercises I could do at home to improve and prevent further injury. I have seen him 2’s since over the course of 3 months for residual knee problems and every time he is great; helping me get over my fear for injury, and reassuring me that all will be fine. Dr Dean has a great approach and he has helped me out a lot. My back felt a lot better right away and over time he helped me regain the mobility of my foot.

I’m a long distance runner, and I saw Dr. Dean for an acute knee pain that had come on suddenly about a month prior. It hadn’t been improving, and the pain was pretty intense. After one visit, and some non-​orthodox methods, my knee pain is completely gone! I’ll continue to go back to Dean with any other issues, and definitely have been referring others to him. Great experience!

Justin was wonderful to work with, he showed me a few simple exercises and they immediately improved my symptoms. He was very kind, helpful and professional. He was able to teach me these exercises so I can continue improving. I recommend him to anyone needing an adjustment or help with their movement patterns.

My workplace requires me to constantly lift heavy boxes, and bend up and down all day. My back was in pretty poor shape, to the point where it was difficult to take a deep breath. I went to see Dr. Justin Dean and it was the best experience! He knew exactly what was wrong after just watching me do a few movements, and was able to teach me better ways to move my body to prevent further injury. He educated me on what my muscles were doing, and i immediately felt great! He fixed the problem that day, and my back hasn’t hurt since I have been doing the motions he taught me. I have been going to the Hawthorne Wellness Center since it very first opened. I was a patient of Dr Chaser for a number of years. When he retired, I was worried I would need to find a new clinic.
I ended up being scheduled with Dr Dean, and he has been fantastic. My first adjustment was just a routine appointment, (my neck was tight) but the following week I was knocked off my feet by a large dog and landed very hard on my hip and side.
He was able to really reduce my overall discomfort the VERY first visit after my injury, and show me ways to protect my back. I went back for another follow up, because I still had some residual pain and was worried about further injury without proper treatment. He reassured me that we would be able to take care of this issue and further educated me about moving properly and ways to take better care of my spine. PLUS he stretched my neck in a way that was so awesome and amazing!!!
I was so pleased with my experience, I have been raving to friends and family. I was sure I was going to be dealing with a painful back for months… and it is only two weeks later… and after my adjustment yesterday, I am feeling confident that I will not have any residual pain.
Do yourself a favor! Go see Dr. Dean. I have a feeling he will be able to help you with pretty much any issue.
