Really great décor in this hidden gem of a bar. The staff was excellent. They have a pretty cool unique value proposition here. Make sure you ask them about the businesses background. I found the beer selection to be really great. All the taps were available, nothing was«out». Some really cool collaborations. Definitely going to come back here. Thought I’d throw a review up so others find this place. They officially opened just a couple of weeks ago.

Hmm I wanted to like this place but I didn’t really, sorry. Lots of taps were out. We heard at least 4 around the hour we spent in there. The board was not accurate and that was frustrating. I know it’s just beer but Portland is a beer town. Keep that board accurate. Not really anyone’s fault? Maybe? But still annoying. Okay just bring me something that you do have on tap. They had tamales on the menu. It’s a sparse industrial space with raw looking wood. Stools at the bar didn’t seem to be the proper height for me. It was kinda cold and most people had their coats on. Server seemed frazzled even though there were maybe ten people tops. I tried two samples. We had planned to spend a few hours here(there was a football game on the projector and that looked okay but not as crisp as some other spots) but ended up deciding Ex Novo would be a better spot, around the corner. My friend who I went with said the concept here is local breweries doing an experimental tap just for them. That’s a cool idea and I think they can grow into that niche. But this was a lackluster experience. I’d go back in a few months when they’ve had time to work out some kinks.

When I first walked in the door I was blown away by the space. They did a great job transforming an old building into a clean and well designed bar/brewery. The industrial pieces mix well with the scientific accents. This cohesion came through in the beer as well. By working on a smaller system it seems the brewer is able to test a lot more recipes than the larger breweries in Portland can. There was a squid ink gose and a tom kha soup beer! Both were fantastic. I can’t wait to taste whats next. This should be a destination for any one that likes beer and/or adventure.

Beers are very interesting, didn’t fall in love with the mouthfeels, but still good flavors. Really friendly staff. Plenty of seating and table space if you partake in their tamale truck outside. Wish the bathroom had a hook on which to hang my purse, that was my only complaint, and I would appreciate a thicker porter or stout.

Went here last night for their grand opening. The atmosphere is cool, an urban chic feel. It definitely has a good vibe. It was very crowded, since it was the grand opening and all, but I don’t think they were overly prepared for it. They kept running out of glasses and there was a semi long wait at the bar. Giving the benefit of the doubt tho, I am assuming this will improve as time goes on! Now for the beers, you know, what the brewery makes. We got to try a lot of them throughout the evening. They definitely had some experimental ones, which is exciting, and what they are all about(hence the name). I liked the pdxbottleshare IPA and the sans nibs saison the best. Next time I would like to get a pint of the SMASH with coffee, it was a limited brew, so they only had samples. They also have Tamale Boy for food, we didn’t try any last night, but it looked and smelled amazing! Good vibe and good beer, definitely wanna check it out again to see how they improve as time goes on!

Gorgeous space and a fantastic selection of beer from around the Pacific NW and beyond. There are about 16 on tap from which to choose, and the taps will rotate. The sampler flight is the way to go because you get to sample 6 beers. The roll up doors open onto the sidewalk, which is great on a sunny fall late afternoon. I’m looking forward to trying the first beer they’re brewing under the Labrewatory label, and involves cranberries. They don’t offer food yet, but they will in a few months when Tamale Boy moves into the adjacent space. Great Mexican food and beer is going to round out Labrewatory and make it one of the best spots in Portland.

Welcomed addition to the hood. Great beer selection and 1 cider(Finn River tonight). Great atmosphere. Beer tender knew his stuff. Some stuff on tap that you don’t normally see(Nor Cal to Washington State)… I can see this as being my hang out joint + everything was $ 4(even the Finn River) and a sample tray of 6 beers that look to be 4+ ounces is $ 6. Not sure if they have food but Tamale Boy 2 is moving next door and at this time no kids are allowed. I/we will be back.
