Rudest receptionist I have ever met. I have tried for months to get my daughter seen and have been insulted by staff and had appointments changed without notice. We still have only been seen by the intake person and not a counselor. For people who are supposed to help with mental illness they sure know how to make a person crazy. I’m going to need to see my therapist after dealing with these people.

If you are considering going to LifeWorks NW for psychiatric medication management, you might think that you don’t have other options, but you do. Unless you meet the standard of Seriously and Pervasively Mentally Ill and/or are court-ordered, LifeWorks NW doesn’t want to treat you. They will be happy to schedule an appointment and intake assessment because they will get reimbursed by medicaid and the visit helps their stats. But once you are assessed, and they determine that you are not SPMI, they won’t be able to receive as much insurance money and will suggest you visit your primary care physician. Do yourself a favor and visit your doctor before you go through this hassle.

We have used Lifeworks for the past year for our foster daughter and we have always liked the therapists that she sees, but this review, however is for the new receptionist that they recently hired. While the previous receptionist did her job and was professional, she was a bit on the cold side, especially considering that a large number of the clients there are children. The last time that we went to Lifeworks however, there was a new face at the front desk(bummer, I don’t know her name). She was smiley, super friendly and she even went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. It was the kind of service that makes you take notice, in a good way. What if every person in the service field could be so delightful? It would almost make all those tip cups that you see out there worth dropping some money into! While the building is old and the waiting room could use some up-dating, I’d highly recommend Lifeworks NW.
