Los Franco

I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of burritos, and after trying just about every taco truck in Portland, Los Franco is my número uno! The best al pastor around. I wasn’t even a fan of lengua or cabeza before until trying it here. Everything on the menu tastes very authentic. Excellent roja & verde sauce, both can be equally spicy and full of flavor. I just wish they were a little closer to the westside.

I pass by here all the time on Saturday nights, and they’re always cooking on the grill. I was curious and stopped by for two ASADA TACOS ($ 1.50/taco). The workers were very friendly and politely asked for my order. Food came in about 5 minutes. Their window is very high up and closed off, and made me feel a little claustrophobic.
The appearance of the food truck is not the best, such as the illegible alphanumerics on the cart, fading paint and overall cleanliness. This could be a simple and cheap fix to improving the appearance. I highly recommend them fixing it.
The food was pretty good, and for a $ 1.50 taco, I received a lot of meat per taco. The red sauce was decent but not too spicey. I wish they had a sautéed onion bar + jalapeños.
Los Francos chose a great location since they are right across the street from 122^nd and Stark for Saturday latina dance nights. I see much potential for this food cart! I’d much rather go hear and support a local food business than a big branch.

I really like the couple (I assume?) that runs this food truck, as they are always nice and polite and get my order exactly the way I want it. The food is really tasty; pretty standard Mexican food truck affair, but that’s generally a good thing.
I have had their burritos, all the different tacos, and a few other things my roommate picked out at random and they are all good. Variations on the same thing, but good nonetheless. My roommate goes here at least 5 times a week, and it’s not just because they’re right down the street from our house.
