Louis Vuitton Portland

We drove from Los Angeles to come to this store. It was well worth drive. The customer service here was exceptional. Jacob dill was very nice and sweet. He encouraged us to look around and give him feedback on what we wanted. I just love the fact that there is no tax here. Everyone is the store was very personable. We will be back to visit Jacob. Thanks for the wonderful service, keep up the good work.

YAY, save a few hundred dollars on taxes by shopping for LV here, the Portland Louis Vuitton. NOT!
Saving on sales tax means you get poorly treated here. The staff is not knowledgeable and they just stand around like gossip girls. You do not get welcomed when you walk in and no one, that I saw, smiles here.
Alright, so do you want to know the worst thing about this store? Be ready for this because if you appreciate luxury and the finer things in life than this just might kill a part of you as it did me:
Four of the bags my mom and I asked to see came out of a drawer FOLDED down in multiple directions. The sales representative then proceeded to unfold each bag and prop it as best possible on the glass countertops for you to cringe and cry at all the creases and bends in the bag and on the bag handles. IS THIS FOR REAL? Oh yes my Unilocaler friends, it’s for real. You can even check out photos that other Unilocalers have uploaded to see the proof… THE PAIN.
Also, in regards to the staff not being knowledgable, allow me to explain myself:
1. I came in and asked to see the Pallas with the purple colored trim:
Sales Rep: «We don’t have purple»
Me: «Yes, you do. I’ve seen it in the Stanford, Honolulu and Maui stores.»
Sales Rep: «No, there is no purple.»
Me: «Do you not have the purple in stock here?»
Sales Rep: «Louis Vuitton does not have purple.»
What do I do? I go online on my phone and pull it up from the Louis freaking Vuitton website. BOOM. In yo’ face. The girl then has the balls to say, «Oh, that’s not purple, that’s Aurore.» Yes, yes it is. Aurore is basically a fancy word for purple!
2. I asked to speak with a manager in regards to the bags being folded and handled poorly. I was curious to know WHY. Why do this:
Me: «I’ve never been into a Louis Vuitton store that folds their bags and then unfolds them to present them to customers.»
Team Lead: «That’s how they always are. We don’t have the storage space to keep them all stuffed like the display bags. That would be more storage space and a bigger store if we did that.»
Me: «OK but can you see why I would question this? I have never in my life been into a Louis store that folds bags. Not to mention, this is the first store that does not glove handle the bags. It’s not OK to spend $ 1000-​$ 5000 on a bag only to receive it folded and creased everywhere.»
Team Lead: «The bags are meant to be folded and stored. It’s brand wide.»
OMG OMG OMG. DYING. DEAD. DEATH. Someone get my casket and carry me away…
This store is an embarrassment to the brand and I hope that Louis Vuitton Corporate gets on this like white on rice.

ASK FOR CECI! She is extremely sweet, knowledgeable, helpful, and takes her time with you. The other sales associates were very attentive and pleasant as well, even though Ceci was assisting me. I look forward to returning to this store when it’s time to add more items to my LV collection.

Excellent customer service and was greeted the second I got through the door. I came in and was asked what I came in for. I came in for a wallet. Even though they didn’t have the wallet in stock, my sales associate Vanessa was kind enough to help me order one and got delivered in timely fashion. Again I would like to thank Vanessa for holding my order until I got back to the store. Definitely would come back.

Came here 2x in one weekend (I know… I know… It’s an investment purchase! Got to let it marinate in the brain: P) And both times the Sales Associates were friendly and accommodating. I looked at 4 – 5 wallets and 3 – 4 colors in each style. I got shown everything, never felt rushed and the SA’s listened to me think out loud hehe.
Will come back again for sure — the selection seems to have gotten WAY better since last year/1.5 year.

This review is only in regards to customer service.
If Unilocal can give out less than 1 star that would be awesome. I’ve gone in the store a small handful of times with a friend but never was welcomed. The moment you step foot in their store, you will be watched like a hawk. Every move you make is like walking on a egg shells. No one greets you until you have a interest in a bag/​item. What’s up with that? Why doesn’t this luxury brand meet up to a customer’s service standard? I have no idea but what I can tell you from my past experience is that I’ve gone to over a handful of Prada stores and always been treated with respect. There was no one following me around the store unless I requested a sales person for assistance.
For those who want to save money on sales tax, be prepared for bad customer service. I’m not saying everyone that works in the store is rude but there’s always a few. Is your savings worth the rudeness?

I came in the store to purchase my first LV bag but unfortunately they do not have the handbag that I prefer. However, the lovely, polite, respectful MS. BARBARA GAMEL find a way to help me out get through the process of getting me the handbag that was looking for and kudos to her for assuring me that I will have the handbag right on time for my travel… thank BARBARA you are an asset to the company.

Update: They now sell LV online. so I can ship into Oregon without dealing with the horrible customer service in Portland.
I own 3 lovely LV bags. Not a one was bought in the Portland, Oregon store… and I live in Oregon. The reason being is the rude salespeople. Last year, I walked off and bought a bag in Maui instead of Portland.
From the time you walk into this store, they size you up and all six will simply watch you strolling along. You have to ask for help. Then if you don’t move to purchasing a bag within 15 minutes they drop you… as if they never saw you before. If I’m dropping $ 2600 on a handbag I want to open it, see how it drapes, and consider a few other bags prior to making this major investment.
I just visited again last weekend. My salesperson actually took a personal cell phone call as I was standing there looking at a bag with her. After spending five to ten minutes on a personal call, she actually ignored me until you could cut the air with a knife. LV should fire this 60 year old woman with dark curly hair… is not service oriented, and very rude. Not like there was another client to help, as five other salespeople where without customers too. She even had the nerve to lift up my my handbag turning it to examine the brand while I had my back turned — geeze is it a sin to carry a $ 700 bag from saks into LV???
The experiences in this store remind me of the scene in Pretty Woman — BIG BIG MISTAKE. Only I’ll go elsewhere to buy any future LV bags — or go in the Portland store, check out the new bags, and order via phone from another store.

When I review anything I try and be in biased and only pair my review with the expectation I have of the brand.
Luxury brands are a part of me. Living in Los Angeles I’m familiar with all my boutiques and all my stylists.
At this particular location the staff was nice but the selection was small. I know they can order and ship but I like having the item to try and feel before I purchase. (That’s just me). I walked their women’s side first and they had the classic bags as well as some of the new styles by Nicolas. Great new logo treatment and design.
I was helped by a sweet sales associate. Tried in some bags and checked out some wallets. Nothing really caught my eye. I went into the men’s shop which was very small and also underwhelmed mostly with the merch than than help.
Location –3, for an LV I was disappointed. Facing the busy and dirty street on the lower level .
Customer service –4, I like the sales assistants here. Let me spend my time shopping. Helped when needed .
Merchandise –3, not s large selection. The basic popular styles and all the colors they come in .
Over all 3. Compared to the other LV stores and other boutiques with the same price range I was not blown away .

After many years of purchasing items here. I am done. They got great service for when you want to buy a bag, but not If you want to do a return. First return ever because the bag didn’t feel right for mom whom I was buying it for. They said it smelled like onion in the bag I bought 4 days ago. Really?!? Who would put onions in A new 1600 dollar bag? Then they said there was a scuff tiny mark under the handle. Which must of been there before because the bag was only out of the box for a couple hour of trying it on. I had a random guy in the mall smell the bag and he said it smelled like leather. I went back and they said well because of the scuff mark, we can’t.
After reading all the complaints on consumers affair, it seems like a no return policy at all. Thank you lv for all the past bags, but there will be no more purchasing from here in the future.

Came in Thanksgiving weekend to purchase a men’s belt as a Christmas gift. They did not have in stock so I decided to have it ordered and shipped. Info was given and was assured the item will be ordered the following week and a phone call would be made to confirm the order. 3 weeks later and nothing was done. Had to call customer service to inquire and was told nothing was ordered. I just ended up ordering it online which I should of done to begin with. SMH

No sales tax in Portland so why not purchase two LV purses?! One cross body and the other for every day carry!
The store isn’t very big but carries a good amount of items. My friend was able to purchase both of the handbags she wanted. The sale rep was very attentive and patient which was a huge plus since my sister and friend are a little more picky and wanted to try practically every bag to see if it fits their frame. After an hour or so, the purchase was made and everyone walked out with a huge smile of their face.
We saved over $ 300 in sales tax so this place is a MUST for my annual visit to Portland!

I came here last weekend to browse. The saleslady was super nice and showed me what they had-​I was looking for a small purse for going out/​weddings/​clubbing/​etc. They were super helpful and nice. My friend was also looking for a wallet for himself and his sales associate was also very helpful. Great customer service, as expected from a store like LV. Especially considering the fact that I was dressed in normal clothes and not dressed nice enough to make it look like I could afford LV. Best of all, there’s no sales tax in Oregon! I will definitely be coming back here in the future.

Had the best experience at a LV store at this location all thanks to Alyssia. I was greeted pretty promptly and the whole experience was a breeze. Not that I’ve been to a ton of LV stores but the sales reps at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA and inside the mall and Wynn hotel in Las Vegas, NV have never been this nice.
Came here to grab a Keepall 55 and she speedily grabbed the 45 by my request to help me decide on the size. She also grabbed a few other pieces for my friend and she was never pushy; never did I also feel rushed and that I was taking her time. She even offered parking validations which I didn’t even know we could get.
Other than that, with no tax, what else could you ask for? Haha

I had been eyeing a bag for a couple of months and finally sealed the deal when I returned to Portland last week.
With zero sales tax you can save about 9%.
The renovated store is spacious and has a great selection. The service is on par with all of the LV stores.

Louis Vuitton is now the brand for Asian people because this place is totally invaded by Asian! We went in to exchange a $ 2000 purse and there are tons of Vietnamese ladies coming over to ask us question, trying to touch the new purse. It was weird because they know we are Vietnamese too and they were talking sh! t about the purse, like «I rather spend that money on a Chanel one! This one is ugly» (translated).
Beside those funny customers, the services are awesome. They have people speaking Chinese, Vietnamese… All kind of languages. If you get some money and need a purse, go here!
Oh must be Asian…

For the amount of times I have entered this store, the people who work here are on you, not like hawks, but on you to give you service, an experience, and whether you leave here dropping wads of cash, or leaving with nothing, you are still getting service. This place is usually busy, and why not, it’s LV afterall, and the fans that love this stuff are here, including the fact your in downtown and your in the state of Oregon which means 0 (ZERO) tax! And for all of you who are spending here that is a huge savings and that is why this store is filled with people who aren’t even local.
The last time we were here, my dear wanted to just take a look at the new product (as you know there’s always something new in these places) so we stepped in and were quickly welcomed by one of the staff members who was already helping out a handful of people, actually on this day all the associates were helping out a handful of people but still knew how to juggle things. They were able to show the product to the point of letting the clientele (females usually!) carry the bags around the store to strike a pose in the mirror to see how it looks without chasing you like a shark looking for it’s prey!
Probably out of most of the LV stores I have been around the world, one of the more comfortable shopping experiences for their line. If your looking for LV, happen to be in downtown Portland, might as well come in here, sure you may leave (lucky or unlucky) with a lighter wallet (or a new wallet!) but I can’t say anything less about the service and smiles here.

I can’t believe what kind of money this supposedly luxury store charges for its low end service. If they haven’t read the definition of vulgar, they should.
Don’t get me wrong, I see the appeal of their handbags — they have attractive lines and some have a distinctive look. Thus I own 2 LV bags, both purchased here, both of which cost around $ 1400.00 each. I already own vintage Prada bags and other luxury handbags and leather goods. So this seemed like wise additions to my collection. Alas, these bags aren’t worth their price tags and to wit they aren’t even worth keeping. I don’t want to be seen carrying an item that the manufacturer won’t stand behind.
Both bags have seen less than average wear, one I’ve had well under 2 years and 1 for about 3 — both were purchased at LV in downtown Portland and the NEWER of the two has worn very poorly — a big carryall sized bag — shows ½″ cracking all over the upper monogrammed part of the bag. Hmmm.
I called the store to see what to do and told hubby that I was going downtown to show them the bag (as they requested). I dumbly assumed that things would be handled in a professional manner befitting myself and this high end retailer.
I found a small break in my busy schedule and took it in so they could determine whether a manufacturer’s flaw or defect caused the problem and was instead questioned about whether or not I had put alot of things in the bag — well, duh, it’s a bag the size of a small suitcase, so, yes I stored my notebook and small makeup bag as well as my phone and other small items. Gee isn’t that what a purse is for? That is exactly what I told the SA I was needing to carry at the time I bought the damn thing. (burn sizzle, burn)
She didn’t even look at the bag (why did I bring it?). I stood there very quietly absorbing this horrific interaction. Didn’t I spend thousands of dollars with you? Have you been trained to be like this? I thought to myself. She hinted that I hadn’t cared for the bag properly. I cared for both bags the same as I was instructed. I am starting to see how you handle problems at LV.
Given what I spent, and the supposed lack of a manager, the matronly desk clerk told me I should just buy a NEW BAG from them — what? Throw good money after bad money? Egads! They took my number and told me they would have a manager call and never did.
I was (and still am) totally shocked by the quality of their goods, their customer service and their inability to stand behind their goods.
Persistent lady that I am asked again as to what else can be done, and finally I pointedly inquired about in-​house repairs to the monogrammed canvas surface. She says she will check with the repair facility (California?) and goes away for about ten minutes and returns with this price — $ 950.00 to fix it. For a $ 1385.00 bag?
SUMMARY: Ridiculous & vulgar retailer masquerading as a luxury goods store.
I will continue to spend money on true luxury goods — ELSEWHERE.
