The food is pretty meh. Frozen veggies were served with my chicken and rice. The quality of the food tasted cheap. You could go to sushi land and pay less and have similar quality food. The service was also slow and meh.

Friendly staff and good sushi. The bubble bubble and the salmon skin are my go to rolls. The vegetable tempura is also very good. There are unlimited tea refills and various flavors of ramune. I’ve also been to the mio in sellwood(not recommended), Beaverton(great), and the fish market(awesome sashimi and sashimi grade fish). Mio is a local gem and I suggest you try it if you’ve never been.

Called in an order for dinner last night. Ordered the Portland roll and a rainbow roll. Reasonably priced and the fish was very fresh. My only peeve was the awkward corner location of this place. I’d never been here before and had no clue where to park.

Mediocre and hit-and-miss. Some of the nagiri we ordered was good, some flat. The rolls were similar to the kind you can find in any supermarket. Coming here was a real disappointment.

I am not an avid sushi eater as I am growing in my experience with sushi and raw fish. I have tried numerous places and just had a hankering for sushi. We made a quick stop and decided to visit Mio Sushi. It was an A+ stellar sushi. I had the COCO. Delish, full of flavor and just could eat it all day. The variety is definitely more than enough and you could have something for everyone. It was more than reasonably priced and very well put together.

Pleasant service, if somewhat spacy… Yellowtail collar had almost no meat on it, and the daikon served with it was slimy, but bento was a good size. We went because it was close to 24-Hour Fitness. There were lots of fruit flies.

You know, I came to this place not having very high expectations, but I will say this is a little bit of a hidden gem of a sushi place in the Hollywood area. Very convenient location(next to a gym) so you can grab a bite after your workout and not feel guilty. There is quite a large selection of sushi rolls to choose from and they are very well made. Some of the more upwardly priced rolls can set you back about $ 12 – 15 or so, but I would say they are worth it. I am not sure how busy this place gets, as I went in the evening on a week night, but given the fact that it is close to Providence Office Park I would say that lunchtime probably gets a little crazy. Nice setup inside and you can choose to sit either at the sushi bar or get yourself a table. I recommend this place if you’re in the Hollywood area and are hungry for some sushi and don’t feel like driving downtown or to the other side of town to get some.

Listen, I will give almost any sushi a pass so long as it doesn’t get me sick. This place barely makes the 2 stars only because we didn’t actually get sick, but we did feel incredibly ill after we left. Mio is one of those chains that you usually find something decent to eat. This place is the exception I guess. It had this disgusting antiseptic smell to it and the fish all looked like it had been sitting out too long. My one friend is a vegetarian and her sushi received a passing grade. The two of us who ordered the fish couldn’t even finish our orders because it was just not good. I really recommend passing on by this place.

No mathematical genius required here: getting off the bus and walking right into Mio Sushi adds up to a chance for a good meal. I didn’t have any sushi, which might not compute, but that just statistically ups the chances I will return for some in the future. Because I’ve been on a chicken and rice kick, I chose to have the chicken teriyaki plate which included excellent miso soup and a cold crisp Iceberg lettuce salad with a nice tart orangey dressing. There was a generous portion of chicken and rice, so l was all set, and I thought the amount and quality of the food was healthy and really a good bang for my buck. Service was cheerful, quick, and responsive. I am not a chopsticks user(this is due to the fact I have no manual dexterity with these instruments and have managed to fling food on people without meaning to; don’t ask what I’ve done with bowling balls). ANYHOW, I was provided a fork without asking for it, and I know the Portland dining public can only be grateful. Mio Sushi is immaculately clean throughout. There are lots of windows and good light, a very welcome thing in Oregon winters, and the décor is bright and cheerful as well. All in all, this is a dining experience that adds up in every way where you will get an A grade for your efforts to find a great place to eat!

My rating is a 2 because the food was a 1 and the service a 2 so I’m rounding high on my rating. The service was slow at a time the restaurant was not busy and our server did not get our sushi order correct even though we submitted it to her very clearly on the write-in Sushi menu. The House Salad«dressing» awful: bitter, not creamy and it made the salad taste rancid. We couldn’t eat it. The Miso soup, NO flavor whatsoever and it’s as if the restaurant is cutting back because it was very watery and little Miso paste was used. We could only consume maybe 3 sips. The Calamari appetizer, it was hard to find the pieces of Calamari atop the Rice Noodles they use for presentation. I’ve actually never seen smaller pieces of Calamari at any restaurant and when we did find a piece, we were sad to learn it most were only batter. Chicken Katsu Bento, the smallest portion of chicken we’ve ever seen served; given the size, should be an appetizer not an entrée. Given the price, should not be on the menu! Ramen, again NO flavor(broth watered down) and absolutely nothing special at all. It tasted packaged and not like they use freshly made broth or ingredients. I will stick to much better Ramen at Teriyaki Town just a few blocks away from the Hollywood Mio Sushi on Sandy Blvd. As for the Sushi, I had high expectations because in the past, I have liked Mio’s sushi. This time, not at all. First the server got the order wrong even though we used the write-in Sushi menu. The Ahi(Tuna) on the Hawaiian Roll was very very pale, not even close to being pink, let alone red as good quality Sushi Grade Ahi should be. One in our party would not eat it knowing that color of Ahi(Tuna) should NEVER be used in Sushi or served raw. The sushi was seriously nothing special at all. I won’t return to Mio Sushi again and I will not recommend it. Don’t waste your money here. It’s overpriced for what you get and for the quality of products they use. I’m sort of sick about this trip to Mio because I really talked it up to family who I took there this time. Total disappointment!

I was in the neighbourhood and sushi sounded good, so I saw Mio Sushi come up on my little Unilocal map and it was a win! Yes, nice service: the staff is friendly. The bento box was a great deal and everything was yummy! I went back for lunch again and ordered the same thing!

One word: GROOOSSSS!!! I gave 2 stars because the service was actually alright. They were trying. The food was awful. After dinner my bf and I looked at each other and concluded that it was by far THEWORST sushi we’ve ever had. The fish was super fishy, the spider roll tasted downright strange, and the flavored were overall lacking. Really all I need to say is bad sushi, and you get the point. Don’t eat here.

The Mio locations over by me in Beaverton have waaaaay better service but it is hard to get me to lower my stars just because all Mio locations have my favorite sashimi salads and double crunch roll. I think they just might use crack as their secret ingredient because seriously, their food is freaking addicting. The service here though really is not great — the few times our server actually checked on us she just seemed pretty complacent. The location itself felt a bit weird — I know it is a new area and add but it just feels sort of off the beaten path or something.

I like this place. And it’s the first sushi place I’ve hit up here. Huzzah! So, yes. There are much fancier sushi places to hit. But that’s the thing with me, I don’t really like fancy. Because, don’t get me wrong, higher quality fish(food) will always mean better flavor, but it means nothing to me if I am preoccupied with thinking about if I am eating it right, or if I am aware the whole time of how hard it’s going to hit my wallet. So in comes this place. Nice, good quality sushi for the price. Good variety of rolls, nice choice of non sushi items, and to top it off, one the nicest waitresses I’ve ever had. I went with family, and while some of us chowed down on rolls, it was nice to see that for once, the non-sushi eaters were pleased with their meals too. The kids bentos actually have a pretty good portion to them, and nothing beats the fact that the waitress kindly presented my 4yr old little bro with those«easy» chopsticks, and how his face lit up when he was able to pick up rice with them. The waitress congratulated him, and he used them for the ENTIRE meal. I was also informed by my mom that the tempura and salmon teriyaki where very good(and she’s PICK-AY). The feeling and décor inside the place is nice, and cozy, and chill, kind of like a quaint spa. Maybe it was the paint? I cant really put my finger on it, but we ate slowly, and calmly, and chatted, and really just, enjoyed our meal time, not just the meal. I will be back, and totally not mind that I have not dropped half a paycheck on it.

Why did I try a combo meal at Mio Sushi for my first time? It seemed like a good deal, but I actually think just ordering sushi is the way to go. The rest of the food wasn’t bad, but not great and not really worth the extra money,(small portion, salad+soup is cheap) However, that is my only complaint. Service wasn’t totally spot on, but I don’t care. The sushi is killer, and the rolls aren’t bad priced. I can’t wait to hit up happy hour and sushi the hell out of myself. The Alaska rolls, and California rolls were fresh, tasty and decently priced. Tight little sexy bundles of joy, popped in my mouth one after the other, although I did share with my 3 companions. This time… you’re on your own next time guys ;)
