One of the best arts related bookshops I’ve been to. Interesting selection and some nice rarities. I had ordered a book online through Monograph because an artist I appreciate had a book launch in the shop. The signed book arrived quick, packaged well and even a protective sleeve added. Will be back next time I’m in Portland.

Every time I visit Portland, I like to hop in the car or public transit and explore some part of a neighbourhood that I’ve never or rarely been. I did that a few Sundays ago and ended up in the NE Alberta area in general and at Monograph Bookwerks in particular.
Monograph is small, but is nicely curated with books on various subjects, as well as vintage art and office supplies, ceramics, prints, paintings, with a touch of antiques. It’s a fun place to wander around, especially when my thoughts and applications still run more on the analog side of life. I found a nice ledger book and left with a few cool ideas and hope for a timely return.

This very small bookstore stands out in its art book focus. It is run by two Portland artists. The store has mid century design objects and also serves up select original artworks. They have store events too. If you like your art books and art books browsing with knowledgable human advice, this is the place.
