The place is open late, which is awesome in Portland, since everything closes so early. The good is interesting, and absolutely gluttonous. Don’t plan on moving afterwards. Any place that has fried grilled cheese as bread and a giant bacon cheeseburger in between should be commended. If you plan on a romantic rondel out late night… skip Nosh. You won’t be able to move afterwards.

Allagash White, 3 kinds of fries and a Nosh Burger. Sweet Jesus it just doesn’t get any better than this. Truly worth the wait with tremendous service. Thank you!

This place was small but that made it great. Had conversations with people sitting on both sides of us. Had the Mac n Stack burger and it was a fun experience. A burger with bacon surrounded by Mac and cheese patties. Killer. The bacon dusted fries finished it off perfectly.

Omg yum! Moved here almost a year ago and have found precious few places I actually wanted to go back to. I’m only sorry it took me so long to give Nosh a try. Went totally boresville for the first outing — standard burger with fixings and fries(salt and vinegar with poblano mayo dipping sauce), but it was awesome and I loved every bite. Everything was fresh and well made; good quality ingredients and the burger was cooked perfectly. I can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu.

Best burgers. Best fries. I’ve tried a few different sandwich/burgers here and they’re all great.(Shrimp chorizo burger and pork sandwich mmmm) and their fries with the flavored dusting? The bomb.

Best French fries ever. First time we went everyone ordered different flavor fries and we loved everything. Oir burgers and sandwiches we’re amazing. Our server was fantastic. She was on top of everything even though she was very busy.

Note: this is ONLY a review of «The Gobbler» sandwich on their menu. I have come here many times and had 5 star experiences. Unfortunately I did not have one the other night. I am not eating dairy until further notice so I could only pick from about 5% of the menu. Why would I go here if I’m not eating dairy you ask? I’m not really sure, wishful thinking I guess. That is not a diss to the restaurant by the way. It is a burger and fries establishment… no dairy is a foreign language to them. I should have known that my options would be very very limited. That being said I decided on the gobbler sandwich which is their version of a thanksgiving sandwich with turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and mayo.(Just fyi the stuffing and gravy DID have butter in it but I allowed it because 1) I’m not dairy intolerant, I’m just choosing not to eat it for awhile and 2) because I figured it was a small amount so it wouldn’t make a huge difference like maybe having a cheese pizza with mozzarella sticks on the side would… It took the food quite a while to get to us. Both tables on either side of us who were sat after us got their food first. Anywho, when the food finally came I was blown away by the size of this sandwich. The only way to eat it is to detach your jaw so that it will fit in your mouth. Needless to say it was massive and not in the wow I can conquer this massive, more like where’s the shovel massive. The gravy had a strange flavor to me, I was not a fan and that was a big disappointment because the gravy is easily one of the best parts of a thanksgiving sandwich. The cranberry sauce was very overpowering and I actually had to scrape a lot of it off because it was really hate to taste anything else over it. The turkey was pretty good and tender. The stuffing was okay at best, also had just a strange-not what I’m used to-flavor. The fries are always a 10 here. I get the salt and pepper fries with siracha mayo. They are so crispy and delicious. They kind of saved this from being a 2 star review. It’s 3 stars because I have had exceptional burgers here and the fries are some of the best in the city. But I will steer clear of this sandwich in the future.

The bacon dusted fries and absolutely amazing. I had the Gobbler sandwich. Which is basically a thanksgiving dinner on a sandwich. Delicious! A great selection of beers. I recommend anything from Bissell Brothers that is on tap. Local brews and a wide selection. Seriously, Nosh is one of the bed burger places in Portland.

Burger review — Typically it’s overly packed but that’s typical being on congress street. I thought the burger was tasty yet pricey. The reason they only get two stars on it is I had to wait an hour for he burger and then it shows up on this huge platter with only a burger on the plate. Who serves a burger without fries? This is America right? Or did I go to sleep in the US and wake up in Russia? At least have the decency when I order my Burger to tell me that you are cheap and won’t throw fries on my plate. I wait an hour for only a $ 14 burger to come out and then I have to request fries. Obviously those came out 40 minutes later after my burger was gone and plate cleared. Bar tenders are real cool /nice though! Good beers! Tasty burger! Not going to eat here though based on the negatives …

Went to Nosh for the first time last night and I’m interested in going again, but maybe when they have new staff? The food was excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the bathrooms were clean. However, for being a Tuesday night with very few customers, almost all of them at the bar, we were waiting for a long time. It was 40 minutes before we got our ice cream sundae, which requires no cooking time obviously. Overall, a pleasant experience.

I’ve only been here once, late on a Sunday evening when nothing else was open… but it was effing DELICIOUS! Our server was phenomenal at explaining this ‘hipster’ menu and accommodating my food needs. The food was: AAAAAAA-MAZING. My «Crispy Tuna Tataki» ‘sandwich’(see the photo I uploaded) was very tasty. Light and super savory. It combined things I love: seared tuna, avocado, tomatoes… mmmmmm My dining companion ordered the«Nosh MAC ‘N Stack» and he claims that it was like nothing he’d ever had before. Creative genius. The bread was friend mac and cheese… yes… We even skipped the fries. Didn’t need them. Awesome drink selection. Nothing bad to say at all. Can’t wait to come back!

Was here August 2015. I think this place is pretty over-hyped. Went with two other people and each of us ordered different things — chicken souvlaki, beef carpaccio, and crispy avocado and tuna. Each of us thought the food was mediocre. I was pretty disappointed considering how many people kept telling me how good it was.

OK. If you like strong tastes this place is for you. The fries come(as one option) with bacon seasoning, with your choice of seasoned dipping sauces. I went with the chipotle aoli which made for a lot of pop. The burgers come in assorted combinations like someone who spends too much time at the vintage store — lots of flavor and tone, if not neatly packaged. They feature a nice draft list including Bissell Brothers. One comment about kids. The Unilocal listing says Nosh is not good for kids. We stopped by for an early dinner(4:30) and had no problems except that only the tables in the front really work with the high chair they provide. No ‘kids’ meal but plenty for them to ‘nosh’ on. Overall I was mostly satisfied here, although I happen to have a very comparable restaurant where I live in Rhode Island, Chomp — at least from my experience during this visit, Chomp has earned the five stars where I only give Nosh four. Pretty good, interested to try more, Bissell Brothers tied the meal together.

Catching up on some reviews, I’ve been lax lately. But Nosh is one of our go to places just up the street from us, so it’s easy to stop in for a drink or food. It is always lively in there and you may have a bit of a wait, but there is a great bar and the food is worth the wait. Of course there burgers are top notch but there are also plenty of other items on the menu to entice. I love the desserts too, very creative. The fries are a big draw and I love the vinegar or bacon dusted fries. Yum! A great place for dinner or a late bite.

Hipster-ish, but don’t judge a book by its cover. There’s good food, a solid beer list, and sweet service. The menu is divided between I-dare-you burgers(My husband had the mac ‘n’ stack and survived, but it was a challenge) and saner options(the sandwiches can all be ordered as salad-based platters) like the perfectly lovely falafel. The fries are outstanding and come with a variety of condiments. Ask your server for advice, which was spot-on. Walk across the street to Space Gallery, and you’ve got yourself the perfect evening out.

I don’t really like Burgers. I’ve just never been a burger person, but when I was pregnant all I wanted was burgers and steak. The Nosh burger is just the most delicious burger you could ever imagine. It’s juicy and has a blue cheese sauce and a roasted garlic balsamic sauce and a runny egg and bacon. I’m practically drooling just thinking about it. Add some bacon dusted fries(one order is enough for two people) and you’ve got magic on your table. Only downside is we almost always end up with an exceptionally rude server. It’s a bummer for an otherwise excellent atmosphere.

Nosh has been one of my favorite restaurants in Portland since the doors opened. Having moving to Florida last October and coming back to Maine for a short visit this week, I visited Nosh for the first time in almost a year a few days ago. I can’t describe my happiness walking in the door. I miss this damn city’s restaurant scene so much. Anyways, onward to talking of the restaurant itself. Best fries ever. Ever. I already knew they were but I am glad to see nothing has changed. They are so flavorful and crispy and perfect. I got sea salt and pepper fries, as I always used to. I’ve had the vinegar ones, which I like, but sometimes are just too intense. The buffalo ones are awesome and I don’t eat bacon so I can’t comment on those. I don’t know why people bother asking me if I want to share an order, because I don’t. I almost want to eat two orders myself. Anyways, sauces and condiments are one of the only reasons I breathe. I got chipotle mayo, sriracha mayo, and blue cheese. All were incredible. They really have the best sauces. RIP tobasco honey mayo. I then got the Ratatouille Local One sandwich which was on special. So flippin good. It had grilled and marinated zucchini, squash, eggplant, sweet onions, roasted garlic, pesto, feta, arugula and romesco sauce on ciabatta bread. The bread was fabulous. The sandwich was fabulous. I was so happy to be back. My brother got quite an intense burger, with the buns consisting of fried mac and cheese patties. I have not ever seen anything like it. This place is truly unique and delicious. Their cocktail list is pretty great too. They make delicious drinks. I had a cucumber gimlet with Hendricks gin. Loved it. Was perfect. And it came in a pint glass. That’s what I’m talking about. I feel sad for anyone who doesn’t understand how good this place is. I want to go here 17 more times before I leave in 3 days, but I just don’t think that is possible.

Spicy garlic pickles — these were regular pickles lol. I was let down. Crispy avocado and tuna — one of the best avocado appetizer dishes I’ve ever had. Couldn’t get enough of it. Apocalypse Now Burger — patty, American cheese, crispy pork belly, smoked bacon, foie gras paté, mayo, cherry jam, and grilled brioche bun. date just had to have this when he saw it online. It’s basically the reason we came to Nosh. I don’t even like pork and I enjoyed splitting this, mostly because of the cherry jam. Would’ve loved to try the spicy fish fry but I was too full after all of that. Service is also helpful and friendly here. Worth a stop if you’re in town.

Awesome place that I can totally imagine in LA. The menu had some creative twists on common favorites like wings and burgers. Very good selection of beers and signature cocktails. Very hipster with the whole beer and bacon focus. I had the wings and bacon dusted fries. So freaking good. The wings were some of the best I’ve had. Crispy on the outside and still moist on the inside. The bacon dusted fries were addicting. I had the herb maple butter dip which was a perfect complement to the salty bacon flavor. For drinks, I ordered the mango mint sparkler which was a sparkling wine base. Refreshing but I liked the food more. Lots of seating and attentive service.

Triste
