Finally a neighborhood café with great coffee and fresh pastries and it’s super clean and modern.

Having a captive audience is sure to keep this shop alive. Although it is well designed and the baked good are made there, it is highly over priced… especially for this neighborhood. The owner, as i understand it, opened up common grounds on hawthorne which is one of my favorites local coffee shops so it is not as if this is their first rodeo. The coffee is umbria which isn’t bad, but also kind of a «shrug.i guess» coffee. The staff is just ok. I’ve been in there 3 times now and the first two times the lady behind the counter was apologetic there’s no refills(umm really?) but it was their opening week so i figured they would adjust their pricing once they got a temperature of their location, but apparently not. The second visit was great, the lady was very cheerful, gave me my cup of ice with my coffee and offered a carrier without prompting, no budging on the prices i saw 6 months later, but whatever, i guess not selling the items is better? The third visit, which is what propted me to review, was not disastrous. It just made me decide I’ll go across the street from now on. I came in for a black coffee to go with a cup of ice. I got my coffee, then another customer came in, so I stood aside to wait for my ice. While she’s ordering and receiving her order, i am ignored and no one even looks my direction. which is hard to do when your right in front of them. While I’m waiting they call out«vietnamese coffee»(there’s literally 2 other people in here btw, me this lady after me and dude in the corner) Dude in the corner comes up says«I ordered black coffee» to which dude behind the counter says«no you didnt» proceeds to argue with the guy, rolls his eyes abd walks away, im still at the counter waiting btw. He comes back and I’m finally acknowledged, «I just need my cup of ice» Dude at counter«its 35 cents» I cock my head a little but say nothing, put 50 cents on the counter. Ive included a picture of my very expensive ice cup. I run a business, i know things cost money, things add up, but nickle and diming your patrons wont win you any love, especially from broke ass students. There is literally a 24hr coffee shop across the street on division that roasts it’s own coffee.

My wife ordered a coconut boba tea. Worst drink I have had in my life, it tasted like coconut oil and tea mixed together. My wife got sick after she drank it, she loves boba tea and she also said it was the worst one she has ever had. Highly disappointed. :(

Pleasant environment, friendly and cheerful employees, and a real nice spot to work on homework, read, or have a conversation. This café is directly attached to PCCs SE campus library. There’s always cool artwork on display from local artists. However it’s not very budget friendly for college students(if you come back for a refill on drip coffee you just get told to buy another one!!), and unfortunately, I also recently got a severe case of food poisoning from the cream cheese they served with a bagel. I used to come here a lot, but now I’m having second thoughts about this café. Probably won’t be back

This is a cool and comfortable place. They also use one of the best coffees on the planet«Umbria,» so just the plain cup of coffee is good. Parking is a bit of a challenge. I will definitely be back.

The place is owned and operated by a nice couple and the espresso is good. I was disappointed over the weekend that they were not open when the posted hours indicated they would be. However, when I went by Sunday afternoon, even though they were still closed waiting for a plumber to show up to fix the problem with the drain(which caused the unexpected closure), they went ahead and made espresso for me and my sweetheart.

we were at our favorite Chinese restaurant and wanted some good coffee afterward. I’m a coffee snob so I’m really picky. I can usually tell if the coffee is descent if I order an espresso. this is one of the best I’ve had, not made at home. a real gem! these pcc students are lucky to have this on campus.

Old school is a great little shop attached to the PCC library. The croissant sandwiches are very good, and the pastries are top notch. Helpful, friendly, hardworking staff. The music is always good too. What’s not to like?
